Choose up sides

If one can search out the original pure identity of the soul or self, then all the temporary isms will evaporate. Meanwhile down here on the earth plane, all who live have a right to exist, as Krsna says "Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor at any time in the future shall any of us cease to be". Supremacy may or may not be…

Srila Lochana Dasa Thakura Disappearance

Lochana Dasa Thakura

He mentions an especially touching conversation Shri Gaurasundara had with Vishnupriya Devi the night before He took sannyasa. Being a talented musician, Lochana Dasa told Mahaprabhu's pastimes in beautiful poetry filled with fire and rhythm. Common people could easily understand the divine character of Shri Chaitanya and awaken their religious feelings. As Devotees regularly chant the Vedic epics Ramayana and Mahabharata, Gaudiya Vaishnava's still…

when the acarya disappears, rogues and nondevotees take advantage

"Unfortunately, when the acarya disappears, rogues and nondevotees take advantage and immediately begin to introduce unauthorized principles ............The acarya, the authorized representative of the Supreme Lord, establishes these principles, but when he disappears, things once again become disordered."…

Krsna Pusya abhiseka

During the morning puja, or worship, the Deity or a salagrama is bathed in pure ghee. Srila Prabhupada once explained the festival this way: "Krishna was just a toy in the hands of the Gopis, so one day the Gopis decided that we shall decorate Him. Pusya abhisheka means a ceremony to decorate the deity profusely with flowers, ornaments, cloths. After there should be lavish feasting and a procession through the streets, so that all the citizens should see how beautiful…

2016 in review

2016 was a rough year for me personally, as I watched my aunt die of cancer through the first four months.  Then ending with a terrorist attack on my son's college, and myself and my dog being attacked by another dog at the park(which was not that big a deal, but scary at the time.all involved are fine).

Sitewise, we have garnered new members, and are blessed with our on-going classes and participation in them.

A few good highlights: I saw the ocean in Charleston SC,  saw Sue…

Pinch of Ashes

Prabhupada, London, August 20, 1973: [...] My Guru Maharaja used to say that if we pray to God for all these nonsense things, it is just like a man goes to a king and the king says, “Whatever you want you can ask from me,” and if the man says, “Kindly give me a pinch of ashes.” It is like that. If we ask from God for some material benefit, it means that I am asking from a king a pinch of ashes.…
