~(>.' ) Two quizzes, one small book to read, one very short essay, final exam.
Each quizz may be rewritten until passed, three attempts maximum. Each student will read the assigned chapters and write the quizz at their own timing. A 500 word essay on the meaning of the book will be required, and the essays will be published at this class site. Post them under the discussion heading Essays. All quizzes etc are pass/fail.
Candidates for diksa are also expected to obtain and hold membership in the site groups How To; Online bhakta program, SPI morning program, and Memories of Srila Prabhupada, and to be well familiar with the contents, please. There will be no examination nor quizz related to those sites, however.
A minimum 70% is required to pass the quizzes. Allowances may be made for non-English-native speakers, and those with disabilities. You must pass the two early quizzes to do the final quizz, which is comprehensive. I will ask questions of individuals on the comments section here, so please chek every so often and patiently reply ! Thank you! All are expected to offer something to the class in terms of comments and presence onsite.
The final pass will not be awarded until the essay is received. The essay may be submitted at any time. The topic is; "The Meaning of the "Nectar of Instruction"".
Degree Program
Upon completion of all five intro, courses, an Associate Bhakti Shastri certificate will be issued. These 5 courses are; N.O.D. , Nect. of Inst., Bhagavada Gita As It Is, Sri Isopanisad, and Krsna Books, are included. Candidates are also expected to obtain and hold membership in the site groups How To; online bhakta program, SPI morning program, and Memories of Srila Prabhupada, and to watch the videos there, please.
Recommendation for First initiation as a Disciple of Srila Prabhupada is usually offered by us to our course graduates. Completion of the ABS is normally required at this site for diksa recommendation. ALL Brahmana candidates will be expected to complete a full Bhakti Sastri degree. Our first members have been grandfathered in, but henceforth these standards will be maintained. Our brahmana initiates agree to complete the Bhakti Sastri degree as soon as possible, then they will be listed as completing all requirements in our graduates listings.
First diksa and Brahmana candidates are expected to learn and memorize certain mantras etc before they will be considered to be fully prepared. These will be provided as we develop our programs onsite, so patience please. For certain, obeisances to Srila Prabhupada, obeisances to Vasinavas, Guruvastakam, Tulsi Puja, Guru Puja, and Jay Radha Madhava prayers must be memorized. These are all sung in full ceremony and words listed at the onsite group SPI Morning Program.
The second half of the Bhakti Sastri degree will consist of integration of all previous materials, some memorization of slokas, as well as an examination of the life and teachings of Sri Krsna Caitanya, and reading of the first three Cantos of Srimad Bhagavatam.
Post-graduate studies will focus on the Sri Caitanya Caritamrta, Sri Caitanya Bhagavata, and the lives and teachings of some of the many great Vaisnava acaryas.
Tuition?
A fee for frameable A.B.S. and Bh.S. degree certificates and mailing will be assessed, roughly $11. but it will be kept minimal. We are not charging for our teachings. Donations are always gratefully accepted, as we are in the renounced orders. We will be happy to provide the required texts as well, at cost price plus shipping and a small donation. The NOI textbook cost is currently ; $20.00 includes shipping etc. Let us know if you will be requiring one, please, and allow up to three 1/2 weeks delivery time.
