dahlma and rice

-soak mung, red lentil, chick peas, split peas, toor dahl,channa dahl, or etc. overnight. Cook two kinds of dahl together for the recipe, not just one type alone. thank you.

-boil, partially covered ,for about twenty minutes, or until soft and broken down

-add salt, butter or oil, tumeric, coriander, basil, asfoeitida, anise seed or fennel, curry powder/sabji masala optional, black pepper, salt. -pinch ginger, cinnamon, cloves, chili powder optional

-add teaspoon brown sugar, teaspoon apple cider vinegar

-add coconut optional, or tomato.

-add cubed small-medium veggies ex potato, carrot, spinach, peas.

-cook stirring occassionally at mod-low temperature untilveggies are cooked, about five minutes to ten

-offer nicely

-serve with whole grain bred, capatis,yogurt, chutney, rice. water
