Nice comment  Zeponith.

Yes, from Srimad Bhagavatam we are informed that there is two, the gross and the subtle false ego. False ego implies a set of accepted identity and behaviors that is not in alignment or accord with the true or eternal self identity.

Like actors on a stage, the physical body is adopted and we play the role. The gross ego is this role thinking;  I am an oppressed black man, or I am rich white Jewishman's daughter, I am a big big Muslim zamindar and lord of my estates, I am a tiny bird who likes berries, etc etc., all temporary, and this is called the gross false ego. The subtle false ego is that I am God or totally independent, and is the root false ego that leads to gross false ego upon receipt of a body or form to facilitate desire fulfillment.

The soul, in a sportive or childish mood, desires to play at being God themself, although in actuality the soul is but a spark of the Divine. Thus the subtle false ego leads to the appearance of a body or form like a dream in the material existences to facilitate this desire to play. This false temporarily non-harmonic ego cannot reside in Goloka, so infinite material universes are created for this very purpose.

Once they are tired, Krishna arranges to reawaken the soul so they may return to their original consitutional identity. In the spiritual world, there is no false ego, only true ego, and this results in luscious exchanges of loving pastimes for everyone's pure and eternal satisfaction.

By chanting;

The real ego is  awakened, and by acting upon that identity as jivera svarupa haya nitya krsnadasa, that the soul is eternal servant of Krishna, then this blissful liberating reawakening quickly takes place. Just like being awake within a dream and realizing one is dreaming, so a devotee goes about Krsna's favorable service without any deviation or falsifications.

    " Gabriel, there are many different ideas and beliefs in the world about what happens after death. I will tell you what I know, I know that God is love. Because I have the capacity to give and receive love, I have the creator inside me.

    This is the path to view everyone, what does it matter what they look like? what color they are? how wealthy? who they choose to love? is it not more important to have the capacity for love and compassion? Is that not evidence of God inside them?

    It is the same with death.

    When I die, no matter if all religions are wrong,

    I will grab a hold of that big bright shining ray of love,

    for it is already here in me, and follow it back home, and that is where you will find me."
