Have you ever listened to the Gurukulis sing ? Heard the crispness and sureness of their pronunciation of "Jaya Sri Krshna CAItanya, Prabhu, Nityananda..." ? And how they handle instruments and music so expertly ?

They say those Names like they really really mean it, there is no doubt or question, you can hear the austerity and devotion and unlimited intelligence in their voice as these young devotees sing. You can hear BHAKTI in the tremolo of their voice, the depth of attention to the wonderful pragmatics of the metres and tones and harmonics; suggestive of someone who has intoned those sounds with great attention for a long, long time, someone who "owns" the mantras, who loves the mantras, who IS, indeed, a living embodiment of the service to the Maha-mantra Hare Krsna! Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare. Hare Rama! Hare Rama ! Rama Rama ! Hare Hare.
This is the legacy of His Divine Grace, our Srila Prabhupada, that pure Harinama has become manifest among the gurukulis ! He has brought Vrndavana down to us crazed "Westerners" through the pure souls of his servants. Now, we must somehow continue the program, despite our many personal flaws and shortcomings and limitations and do the needful to our best abilities. We must serve the Names. And, we must always remember we are foolish servants of the devotees; they are our living Deities also; we must sincerely give up everything in their service. This will please Srila Prabhupada, and thus the roots of the tree become watered.
We have a " battlefield commission "! We are given statuses we are not worthy of, work to do we are untrained for, because, in a battle situation, the General must sometimes appoint even a common man as a lieutenant to lead the charge, when there is a shortage of qualified officers. But our first and foremost principle is complete loyalty and service attitude to Srila Prabhupada. Then accepting unreservedly and without hesitation or change, serving his directions from within and without, we will have success and defeat the Great Sinister Movement !
As disciple of '71 onwards, not of "Swamiji" per se, I am not so intimate a devotee. I am second layer, highly respectful worshipping class tier. We the sankirtana army say,
All Glories to our Senapati Bhakta, our Great General, the eternal spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada !
