Love in the material world

Love in the material world is an illusion. Many of us endured years of struggle, often feeling alone, but realized eventually that Krsna is our best friend. We married, or established what was to be an eternal bond, but the tides rushed in, and washed our castles away. But Krsna is still with us; He hasn't given up on us for even a second.

How often have we heard it said; there is no question of happiness in the material world. The girlfriend, yes, even the wife and children, will all soon be dead enough and gone gone gone. You may line up your defensive soldiers, brothers, but the line will soon stand down, as the same Time element grinds them into dust, and burns them into ashes, or they become the stool of worms. And your heart will again suffer.

Seek not thy treasures on earth... That is a young man's necessary folly. Just give up the very idea; a loving intimacy with a cute and intelligent young (wo)man; dream on, for that is all it is! Our attempt to imitate Laxmi and Narayana is doomed. I am telling you this! Recognize this truth, endure here, establish your relationship with Radha and Krsna. That is Who you are. Even if you don't realize it, act upon your good intelligence, and you will be ahead.

Srila Prabhupada told us that if you can control sex drive, as a brahmacary or even as pukka householder, then you are 50% of the way back to Godhead. I rejoice because, as I grow older within this body, I can see this truth, for real, been there, done that. Just give up this silly chase, and turn to your japa with heart; you will taste nectar.

Yes, Radha Rani prabhu. As you kindly point out, the original pure love attraction and motivation is spiritual, not temporary or based upon a physical body. All such involvements here are like reflections on a moving river. On the whole, love making per se is not going on among the devotees and manjaris of Braja Goloka, however. The manjaris are about eleven or twelve, and pure. The Gopis are directly expanded facets of Srimati Radharani, not mere jivas, who bring variety in Their pastimes. There is no need nor desire seperate from loving service of Radha Krsna, as full spiritual satisfaction is achieved in serving Sri Sri Radha-Krsna's pastimes. Sri Caitanya caritamrta describes that the manjaris and their servants enjoy as much as Radha and Krsna, so never worry that one will be oppressed or lacking anything! There is nothing lacking to be fulfilled by sexual connection. There is no mundane relativity, such that this is good, this is not good. Rather, bhakti rasa is all good there. We can only now mostly intellectualize how it must be, but we know life in the highest realms is a concentrated awareness, not less, but more, awareness, deeper like liquid nectar, direct complete and satisfying knowledge, more inspired direct insight, more simplicity, more peace, and all is tasteful there! There are neither shortages nor demons. There is nothing mundane to be gained, so the play is all about enjoying pure love and service. We are currently numb, stupid, shrunken, and restricted, like dead-headed walking ghosts. We scramble for any hint of relief, like the brain eating zombies at Joka Loka.

I myself hold the jiva to be worshippable, as a spark of the Pure is also divine. I do not agree that there is no pure love possible between jivas. On the whole, however, there are few exceptions to material contamination amongst "lovers" of our world.

RR dasa is our one exception in the universe. Srila Prabhupada's " Nectar of Instruction' has comments in this regards... lol. But, everything in its time, eh baba? Remember, I'm a vanaprastha! Mahaprabhu had many happy householders as his dear associates..

  I dare say around here we practice love of Godhead of the Vrndavana type; it is not for opulence nor prestige here, as we have none. Our opulence is all very simple amongst our members. We can only hope Mahaprabhu will deliver us soon. Love of Godhead is natural and dormant within each.
