hows the day off? deep frying some donuts today ?
[3:40:19 PM] T-dasa: i learned how to make real good donuts at home!
[3:41:08 PM] T-dasa: 3 cups flour, white mostly , or add 1/2 cup instead of whole wheat or rye even
[3:41:16 PM] T-dasa: 4 tblspn.s ghee
[3:41:20 PM] T-dasa: some salt, 1/2 tspn
[3:41:32 PM] T-dasa: cardamon powder, about one big tblspn.
[3:42:03 PM] T-dasa: roughly one cup non fluoridated water. start with 3/4, add a bit as it mixes to right consistency, not too wet! dough should be on the firmer side if possible at the end.
[3:42:32 PM] T-dasa: two tspns fast-rising or regular yeast. four tbspns brown sugar
[3:44:02 PM] T-dasa: put warm water, sugar and yeast together, after five minutes, add oil and salt, all in the breadmaker container of course. then add mixed flours. put in bread maker for one half hour or more of dough mix cycle. the dough should be stiff, not soft.
[3:44:31 PM] T-dasa: roll out to 1 i2 inch thick, cut t doughnut shapes. let rise one hour under light cloth moistened
[3:44:57 PM] T-dasa: deep fry in oil or ghee, slow-medium heat, cook enough please. flip occassionally as neded.
[3:46:25 PM] T-dasa: Cook sugar and cocoa / carob, and /or vanilla, lemon and icing sugar, small bit of butter, and salt and water, until thick syrup to semi hard. You choose your preferred offering flavorings. dip donuts in it or drizzle on while hot. Deadly good. Offer and consume that day if possible. Makes about twenty or so.
[3:47:07 PM] T-dasa: you can use a large glass or bottle rim as a cutter, and cut a small hole with a knife in the center also to help cook it thoroughly inside. icing sugar can also be used as a coating, or organic sugar and cinnamon. etc
Ice after they have cooled, but put icing sugar if that is being used alone, on, while still warm.
