The fact is that Srila Prabhupada knew some of his leading me were very avaricious..up to the point where they were capable of murder to protect their interest in control and position in the society. Here is confirmation of this unholy realization. And it truly explains why Srila Prabhupada did not publicly designate the next Acharya..to protect him from being attacked even before he could perform the function he had manifested for. He had hopes that there would be enough sincere devotees in the society that the Acharaya would be "automatically selected".
