Current Total 9

A simple calculation, Prabhus; AGTSP. If even fifty of our site members can afford to contribute  $5 per month, that is 5 x 50 x 12 is 3, 000 dollars per year, and over the course of time, construction or rent etc can be maintained, until purchae agreement is fulfilled and the property becomes part of the foundation trust. I intend to leave my small inheritance and savings, when that day comes, safely to this trust. This is  enough to rent and maintain a Temple anywhere somewhat less expensive, such as Hungary or Fiji, etc., or build a real stone Temple in India, where we can all safely go as founding members when we go to India.

This realization has recently been re-inspired by our friend Bhakta Trino Carrera, who monthly donates a larger sum than that to this mission. He has such confidence in Srila Prabhupada and in our sincerity. Now, let us follow in his footsteps and step up to the plate and do what MUST be done! Let us get our priorities straight; are we $5. per month committed to the ideas and the devotees of this online Temple, and are we going to take it to the next level and be very real, build an ashrama for our member devotees seeking shelter in the form of Srila Prabhupada's ashrama to engage in sankirtana, bhajana, hospice, in India, and hopefully connect to and/or establish similar communities everywhere around the world.   RSVP.  Please comment and commit.

  • Yes, Nirmama, this is not meant to be a way to make our poverty stricken devotees fell uncomfortable, and it breaks my heart to see the devotees living in some very limited circumstances. You yourself contribute so  much in the form of good will and arricles, here and on your own sies also, and when you cannot do that due to pressures of work and life, we know you are there, and praying and chanting, and we are deeply satisfied by that. Please do not feel difficluty, we are here to support each other from our strengths, and much appreciate the strength you bring in your devotion, to our sanga.

Thanks for the encouragment! Let us hope some that Krsna will inspire our members.

  • An account can be set up requiring for example three signatures from the temple presidents, of which we have three, for any withdrawals. In this way, a careful accounting can be kept, complete even with entiries for each person's contributions. From there, as a group we decide what is the wisest practical course forwards.

I definetely committ to the $ ten. per month, make that twenty, starting as soon as the devotees respond to this idea. For me, thats $240. yearly.

For now, please send  any laxmi donations as Paypal, via the onsite donation feature; it is secure and no one else sees your account numbers etc so you feel very secure for asmall fee to them.  Another possibility is to write me a cheque

c/o Thomas Garden / Tamohara dasa, #114-956 Chancellor Dr, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, R3T 2K1.

phone number is 1-204-255-2096, though online contact is preferred due to aging mother and wishing to minimize late calls, afternoon nap calls, and such confusion around home for her. I dont have this skype device as devotees ask me, sorry! I am readily avaible at this computor 14 hours out of 24 however! Haribolo !

Kindly send regular donation cheques pre-dated and signed for the period of time you would like to contribute, say for three or six months etc,  whatever works for you. Thus, for example cheques dated Feb 5, 2012, March 5, 2012, etc. as desired. I will instantly not cash any cheques in any  time period simply with easy contact by message etc.

However my stipulation please; only persons who can affored to do so should be contributing to the group seva, as we do not like to accept any laxmi donations from any devotee who is having difficulties making ends meet at this time.  Each of us is a living tmple; so maintain your own temple as first duty, please. Hare Krsna !

  • One notion of congregating for the first SPI TSKP at Basu Gopal's home in Boston area for some time, possibly in 2013, has arisen. Thus, members could stay there and do harinama street sankirtana together, and put on programs at the many local churches, temples, etc in Basu's area of residence. Street magazine and prasadam distribution could aslo be attempted, and in this way effectively build up our sankirtana capabilities. The same program could then move on from there to another appropriate devotee's home for another period of time, say like a year's committment. Bhagavatmrta Prabhu ha sa temple and a large facility in Brazil, for example. Utthamasloka is in Costa Rica, we have friends in India, and New Zealand also. Just posating this as one idea that could be implemented.

We have already started some book distribution. I propose we increase that, and that can be done immediately. I will ship a case of 800 small pamphlets, "On chanting Hare Krsna" to anyone, in the USA only, immediately. I request that a small donations for them be solicitted as these are distributed, if possible, such as to pay the costs of the pamphlets and shipping as they are distributed, ie you pay nothing, but when the books arrive, you owe SPI TSKP only $40. total for the case, shipped.  200 of these distributed at 25 cents each is $50. This offer can be taken up by contacting me with your shipping address.

I cannot express how happy I am suddenly becoming thinking we can distribute some books and plan for increasing our sankirtan. You should know that I love sankirtan, and all this effort, magazine , members etc, everything, is geared towards establishing "street" sankirtan activities.

I am also wondering if we can engage Rasa Manjari in prasadam and/or any  book distibution there in Hungary? If we have regular fundings, we can get her started on such a program.

    Dear Tamohara Dasa Prabhu:

My most humble obeisances.  All glories to Srila Prabhupada!  I couldn't figure out how to post a comment directly, but would just like to add that we should remember that you, Tamohara, are not all about the money as our friends in ISKCON are, so you don't bug us all the time with requests to make donations and don't charge for the classes and the service that you do.  So let's each respond, with the realization that some people just do not have the ability to contribute much, but those of us who thankfully have jobs etc. or are still in maya can perhaps do a little more to advance the plans and efforts.

            Haribol!

    Dear Tamohara Dasa Prabhu:
Again my most humble obeisances to you. All glories to the devotees! I sent a message with regard to your post on the site, and realized I missed the comment box, but you may see it in your inbox over there.
They are all good plans. I suppose that another idea would be to make a GBC from different ritvik groups, but mostly there is not much agreement between them, but if other reasonable such groups could be found?
I do recall reading that you were a counsellor or therapist at one time, and so you have a lot of different experiences which can be helpful in organization. I had no idea how large and diverse a group SPI is actually. So it wouldn't hurt for some of us to kick it up a notch so that other things could be done, making it a "street" AND a "net" thing. All cool.
There are also many members who can't do very much in the way of money, but they are doing what they can, such as the person who sent you the letter. Reading the Gita as it is, we know that NONE OF HIS/HER EFFORTS ARE LOST. There's no losing, only winning on this path, except possibly for the "gurus" who follow their own desires and lead others astray.
If this person is a shudra, what am I? A candala?

    Hare Krishna!

Of course is a wonderful idea Tamohara Pabhuji, but will be nice if we can pay whit credit card otherwise i found it very complicated, for me to put a transfer from Spain cost 30 euros almost 40 dollars, if i have to do it in that way i will do it once a year, but anyway count whit me for wathever is needed if you go ahead whit this wonderful service for Srila Prabhupada.  HARIBOL.

    Tamo replied;

Hare Krsna! Dear Sri Yamuna Das Maharajah; Pamho.

Blessings come from unexpected directions sometimes. I swear Krsna arranged this, I certainly did not. This sort of causeless mercy is the most enjoyed.

We are all getting fired up about the sankirtan programs contemplated. There is also good possibility of a TSKP, but each will have to be able to assume responsibility for a share of the travelling expenses when the time comes. We shall arrange places to stay, but still there will ve various indepednet costs with such a lifestyle. I am just thinking a year in Spain doing Harinama with such a party would be amazing.

Current funding is possibly slated for working towards and ashrama, and/or temple construction/rent/maintenance, also yearly site fees of 280 ish dollars per year to Ning network, and any book/ sastra online etc  distribution / capiltalizing (ie we supply a deep discount case of books, the receiver sends us cost plus ten dollars, so the funding does not tun out. So far two cases have gone out, on a slightly different ie unsustainable earlier program)

We shall be keeping a strict accounting of all donations, as you will kindly note, and make sure that all  is used exactly as scheduled. I myself am retired, and have enough by Krsna;s grace for retirement years.

There is an address given in the article on our front page currently called $10 per month builds us a temple for Srila Prabhupada. Kindly send a cheque or money order etc to the address  c/o Thomas Garden, as shown there amongst the comments. I shall have to make arrangements to incorporate i think, soon, then we can set up articles and joint co signature etc for withdrwals from the account. Sound professional? Haribol, Baba!

My obeisances and so much sincere thanks for this encouragement to all, this loving support and trust, in our mutual works of service. AGTSP Pamho.

  • Seva das makes a good point; consideration of,  for example, some prasadam distribution via Suvarna Manjari in NEW OZ is a possiblity, or possibly we can sponsor Rasa Manjari for a new program in Hungary ?  One step at a time...  but at least our steps are taking us Rhinoceros hunting!

  • Receipts will be issued.  We have no legal staus as a charity at this time, but should incorporate. This issuance of receipts will be done once we get our accounting and paperwork together in this regards. I will be looking into this this week.

  • An ashrama with organic farm and hospice  in India would be easily affordable by us, and India is one place where we all eventually will go in our lives, so it makes sense to me to consider there. Rasa might be interested in serving there as women's ashrama leader/manager and hospice manager/art program coordinator?  A Puspa Samadhi can be built for Srila Prabhupada there; I have a flower which he wore at the time of his samadhi. We would need a hospice rooms with nurses' quarter and etc, enough nice rooms for our members who visit and/or live there, and basic facilities for travelling sankirtana parties and day-parties to Puri etc, (ie a small bus or cars). All this sounds expensive, but with the current exchange rates it definitley doable. We would need one resident Indian devotee to sign as landowner etc as non residents cannot own a business etc so easily in India these days. I suspect that a good lawyer can ensure that the SPI Foundation Trust retians full economic rifghts of the properties, however, perpetually, making the ownership on paper only. Lawyers can be hired to adjust accordingly to make it air tight. Hare Krishna.

We could meet there and/or stay there always,or reserve our own room perpetually for holy days as donor members, die at the hospice, and rent unused rooms to visitors. Etc dream on McDuff, but these things can be done if we conteribute as promised; it will accumulate, and we shall do it, if we will it, and Krsna is behind the willing. AGTSP. What you prabhus think? India first for the directing of donor funds, after temple expenses are deducted? ? We should also support sankirtana, such as books, as primary.

  • Bhaktin Nirmama

    Something for you

From Bhaktin Nirmama to You Sent 2 hours ago

    Dear Tamohara,

WOW! Did you see what happened in just one day??? :) It seems like we only needed a motive or a trigger to activate that motive, right? Amazing! Yes of course we can build temple and cultivate organic garden, and support sankirtanas, books and prasadam distribution. And yes, we have to make a main goal, and that would be of course asrama in India. I want to live and die there and I am sure many others do too!

My suggestion is to make a temple in the outskirts of Vrindavana or other holy place. The reason why I'd suggest outskirts is that we should spare ourselves from possible conflicts with corporate Iskcon and also - as we now know - racist indian ritviks. So it would be smart to stay aside, if possible.

Of course, every action must be legal, from collecting donations till building asrama. I agree with all that you proposed in your last comment on this subject.
