received the case of on chanting pamphlets today !!!!!!!

they are heavy i could barely lift them

    Very nice looking simple pamphlet

I will create some ways that I can distribute them

and  make a report to the group what methods are promising

Im gonna dsitribute them by preaching and not the ancient scam techniques

Im thinking that I would like to be involved with hospice for souls about to pass on( which makes it every one as we are all about to pass on)

maybe that could be a way to approach the general public--- as many people love animals

and all those people realize the attachment and sadness that we all must face at an accelerated rate with a pet.

I appreciate the chance to distribute them

  • I am tempted to ask, Robin Prabhu, seeing as Krsna is supplying everything so nicely, send our members some cases for distribution ! Most of our members are poverty-stricken brahmanas.

  • One should not distribute changed books, unless there is no option at all. Neither should devotees be advised to visit Iskcon temples until they are strong enough not to be fooled by the con-men usually inhabiting such otherwise sacred places.

Yes, one's life is itself a preaching. We should desire to help the world as much as Krishna gives us facility to do so. Sometimes a little trickery is used, though I do not much apporve myslef, but Srila Prabhupada himself said that if necessary, we can use some words or devices to capture the conditioned souls' attention and service. However, one must be expert and not cause damages. Best to be as straightforward as possible, without throwing the "game". Fortunately, the devotees do many services, so we can appeal to animal shelte enthusiasts,  education, freedom of religion, etc. as true reasons for people to give service if they are not too keen on Hare Krishnas per se.

One of the offenses is to distribute trasnscendental knolwedge to faithless persons, although out of extraordinary mercy and enthusiasm to serve, the devotees sometimes will do even that in the attempt to preach, but as a rule, we should not give nice books to envious, demonic, or intoxicated persons. Neither should initiation be offerred to someone unfit or unenthusiastic.

Internet is also sharing the same knowledge and instructions, of course, and has proven very effective in that this site is entirely from internet cooperation and preaching works, and we seem to be increasing the general levels of service and loving interactions among Vaisnavas.

I just replied your email (where you told me what happened to Mother Kay, my asking in my reply how she is doing).

I can no longer do any cooked (by myself) Prasadam distribution, so I will give out sucking candy that I offer to my Deities, and/or cookies bought from the store. Of course I would much prefer to be able to cook and distribute, but my body can't do it, so I do this instead, since it's practical, and in one sense, people trust it more; wrapped candy, and seeing the box of (store bought) cookies being opened in front of them. (I decided to stop "killing myself with guilt" about what I can no longer do (in terms of service), and do what it is this body will still allow me to do.)

I don't think I got love of Krsna through ISKCON, but I certainly did get SO MUCH of the GUILT CRAP!!! I use an electric scooter to carry out the books, etc.

I definitely do not do it as often as I used to, especially with the winter, though I do have a few little "tricks" here and there to compensate for what I was able to do previously, but am not able to continue to do now. Although I will still go out and give out books/sucking candy directly to people, I also scoot up to the hospital and put some books, etc in the various waiting rooms - where people wait to be called for their x-ray, or the waiting rooms in the various clinics in the hospital.

    With love,

    Your servant,

    B. Radha-Govinda
    Hare Krsna

You went out book distributing and prasadam distribution? Wonderful! How did it go? Do you do this often? We just started our program with "On chanting" pamphlets in Hilliard Ohio and Boston.
