It seems to me that exposing the truth is a very thankless task. It is really easy to let the grief one accrues for doing so, get under one's skin.
But when more and more disciples of Srila Prabhupada are saying the same thing, it really adds so much weight to it. That means those who are not reading much into the truth will become more inclined to do so.
Therefore even if one is getting grief, others see it, and others see the same conversations playing out on different levels with the same recurring theme.
I remember reading on the internet in the late 90s many problems with ISKCON which I wanted to deny or explain away. But in time, I gave it more of an ear and could arrive at a more balanced appraisal of the main issues.
As Srila Prabhupada's sincere and well-motivated disciples led the way in establishing the movement in the 70s, so they are now, 50 years later being the ones pointing out the problems, deviations in the movement, and more importantly why, so that the rest of us can get a better handle on it.
ISKCON may be a big movement, but these people have lived through it, gone through the pain, and can provide eyes/education to the strong, but more myopic new group of devotees hindered by institutional restraints.
After all, what is education but enabling one to see more accurately?
