“Those who are like gopīs, when they chant ‘Hare Kṛṣṇa’, they say, “O Lord Hari”. But for conditioned souls, it is “O Rādhārāṇī.” ‘Hare’ has two meanings - “O Rādhārāṇī” and “O Hari”. The original word is ‘Hara’. ‘Rādhārāṇī’ in address – ‘Hare’ and Hari in address - ‘Hare’.” Srila Gour Govinda Swami

 

 

Hare Krishna. All glories to Srila Gurudeva and Srila Prabhupada. My understanding is that in the conditioned state we take shelter of Superior Vaishnavas like Srimate Radharaniji but once one becomes like the gopis, has entered into the direct service of the Lord, we are already under Their shelter, thus we cry for the shelter and service of our Lord Himself.
