Rama Nrsimha Das
Regarding what Srila Prabhupada actually desired for initiations after his disappearance.
Hardly surprisingly, in light of what actually transpired, it's been pretty turbulent subsequent to Srila Prabhupada's departure...
From Bhagavat Maharaja
To Narasingha Das..
//You all basically have the story correct. Srila Prabhupada asked Tamal to call the GBC together to discuss choosing one of two of His disciples who would do all the initiations. Tamal promised to convene the GBC members to discuss who those two persons would be.
After a day Srila Prabhupada asked what the progress was and Tamal said they had not met yet. Then again in a day or so Srila Prabhupada asked if they had met and discussed and Tamal said no. At this point, Srila Prabhupada offered to give Tamal an idea of who Srila Prabhupada thought would be the best two persons to do the initiations.
Tamal asked Srila Prabhupada to please give him the names. Srila Prabhupada said either Radha Govinda Maharaja and Gour Govinda Maharaja or both. Tamal externally was composed but he was livid that these men would be chosen over the disciples who had helped him build the mission. Tamal never understood it was about the purity of consciousness, not the number of man-hours a person had worked for Srila Prabhupada.
After a couple of days, Srila Prabhupada inquired again from Tamal if the GBC convened and discussed the matter and appointed one or two persons to give the initiations. Tamal said no. At this point, Srila Prabhupada knew what their intentions were and he said "oh now everything is finished".
Bhakti Caru Maharaja was there for all these conversations. He related all of this to his childhood friend who was also a devotee and was in Vrindavan with him at the time happened. This story was related to me by that childhood friend of Bhakti Caru Maharaja. I had always hoped that Caru Maharaja would have the courage to come forward and tell the truth of what happened but he did not and now he has expired.//
