Scientists Making Gains In Proving Afterlife
It's always been my feeling that the study of physics will lead to the answer to the para-realm. Once we understand how the universe works, we can now understand how things we consider “para” occur, their origins, and perhaps even establish a line of communication (my upcoming book “MetaNet” proposes this theory).
Nuclear physicist and molecular biologist Jeremy Hayward of Cambridge University makes no secret of his convictions either: “Many scientists who are still part of the scientific mainstream are no longer afraid to openly state that consciousness / awareness could, in addition to space, time, matter and energy, be a fundamental element of the world – perhaps even more fundamental than space and time. It may be a mistake to ban the spirit from nature.” It is even questioned as to whether matter should be considered a fundamental element of the universe.” (source)
Dr Pim van Lommel and colleagues from the Rijnstate Hospital in Arnhem, Holland, investigated the experiences of 344 heart patients resuscitated after cardiac arrest. All had been clinically dead at some point during their treatment, says a report in The Lancet today. Sixty-two patients reported NDE, of whom 41 described a deep experience during a special state of consciousness. These included outofbody experiences, pleasant feelings, and seeing a tunnel, a light, deceased relatives, or a life review. The researchers said: 'Our results show that medical factors cannot account for occurrence of NDE; although all patients had been clinically dead, most did not have NDE. 'If purely physiological factors caused NDE, most of our patients should have had this experience.' (source)
As always, I suggest readers continue to search for answers, educate yourselves and come to your own conclusions. We have two camps that make speaking of afterlife difficult. One camp is the religious who believe without doubt and will not consider any other explanations other than the Divine and the other camp which is devout atheistic and see proof of afterlife as proof of God concept. One will take any evidence as proof and the latter will not take any evidence as proof. So, I leave you to your own machinations on this matter, but I will leave you with my own take on this.
We are human beings having an experience that is extraordinary and if you don't think it is, you haven't been watching life. There is an interdependence on plant and live being, inert and atmospheric, all coming together into an interrelated dance that keeps us all afloat in mortal form. You add to that the capacity of a human to create amazing works, inventions, concepts, and even wars, and then realize that a person with cumulative life knowledge and experience dies and so what was the purpose of having cognizance while here? Why not make man like snails, bent on a purpose of survival only? Why give man the amazing phenomena of 8 hours of sleep nightly with dream states? Why re-boot his body and mind? Why give him the ability to dream? Why give him the emotional connection to others who will die? There is absolutely no evolutionary need for man to have become cognizant and caretaker of the earth.
