TAMOHARA: Dispeller of Ignorance
"In his never ending engagement with the world, the self effacing Shiva, adorns many forms or “Rupa” to propel the wheel of time or Kaal Chakra. Salubrious rays of his divine wisdom & love are granted to the devout in ways one often does not comprehend in the ego state of one’s microcosmic world, which revolves around one’s individual self, that shuns pain & seeks pleasure.
When misery befalls the initially charged devotee, he often finds his body & mind, agonizing over various difficulties. These pitfalls on the pilgrim’s journey span a variety of emotions, thoughts, mental states & bodily conditions. Venomous thoughts include negative perceptions of various people, places & things. Negative emotions range from greed, lust, covetousness, hatred, anger & jealousy. Mental states range from fear, depression, anxiety, and guilt. Bodily conditions vary from extreme activity to debilitating inertia. Bodily conditions cover varied ailments like coughs, colds, aches & pains.
Surpassing, all these bends and curves, as they rattle the individual, on his path to merging with the infinite divine, as a drop merges into the sea & the atman or soul sheds its veil of limiting platforms and transmutes itself into the rainbow body of ever resplendent youth & effulgence of divine glow. The ailing devotee who begins to lose faith or loses his strength in righteous battle suddenly finds himself aloft the boat of god, just when he began to think he had lost it. The supreme merciful, lord of the immortal skies lends his bejeweled wing of golden glow to his lost son & envelops him in his aura of divine light & love. Basking in the glory of his ever rejuvenating & resuscitating life force energy the devotee finds himself freed of all the hell that assailed him. So, glorious is the light of Hara’s cosmic wisdom that, surrounded by his embrace, the seeker on his path loses all self conscious and bathing in the love of Shiva, the nameless one, he loses his ego and finds love, beauty & joy in whatever circumstances, people, places or things he finds himself with. Resistance of every type gives way to acceptance of life as it is, available to him in the present moment. Happiness & fulfillment is experienced in every moment of his existence. In this state of divine bliss, the ordinary individual acquires extraordinary powers often termed as Siddhis or boons gained from the karmic justice meted out to him as per the inescapable dynamics of the universe.
He then becomes a vehicle of the divine or a transmitting station as it were, as whoever or whatever comes within his energy field begins to receive the wondrous energies of his cosmic love & wisdom. Thus acting like a transformer he begins to alleviate worldly suffering & carry his fellow brothers & sisters, across the ocean of Samsara, by guiding them in obvious worldly ways & unseen ways.. This is how the true or evolved master, begins to take upon himself the miseries of his children or souls suffering in a world of illusion and error. In this role, he then transfers the light of his wisdom alike to all souls who enter his magnetic field. Based, on their own individual progress on the path to spiritual awakening, different individuals receive his wisdom in different ways, based on their own samskaras (past life impressions) & work in this life. He then gets aligned to them, in various capacities to complete various tasks based on his individual potential & capabilities. In such a manner he plays his role in the universal motion picture of life. This cycle, of birth & death continues in an endless play, until he is freed by divine grace (anugraha) & finally merges in the absolute, free of matter, body, mind & spirit.
Such is the way of the divine Tamohara, who removes ignorance & restores peace, bliss & oneness with the infinite.
