Krsna really doesn't give a flying darn about your austerities and sadhana! lol! BUT, if you sincerely take Him into your life as your Family, your Friend, then He will take care, almost no matter what we do. Just see the superior position of bhakti!
Do we judge and forbid our friend, even if he is weak and foolish, but sincere? Or do we love and try to bring them happiness somehow? Krsna is like this. He is Atmarama, Self-complete, and His wish is that His part and parcels also be happy. He doesn't need our austerities, but we get credit for the attempts and purification, by dint of common universal law.
Krsna bhakti is above all such laws, yet sadhana is supported by those following the rules of bhakti and moral niceness. Sadhana and austerity are merely to help bring us to the point of love of Godhead, and actualization of that love in the form of eternal self-realized service. When we achieve that, our behaviors are automatically favorable as pure bhakti purifies all.

Gotta ask yourself; Why am i doing this? Once one is convinced and does, then the results guarantee pure motivation in due course, by strength of personal experience. And where do these strongly motivating experiences come from? By Will and Grace of Godhead. So, to advance spiritually, get that Mercy, as all your sadhana is basically a joke. In fact, too much austerity and discipline can make a person an authoritarian and intolerant a-hole, following without really understanding. We try to be qualified by doing our best, so be patient, everything will be given once we pass the tests. Enthusiasm and determination come from hearing and associating with advanced devotees.
To be aware of the intense flow of blissful energy that is generated by the contemplation upon Each Other by the Divine Couple is an entryway to spiritual happiness and indeed ecstasy, such as Mahaprabhu felt upon such meditations. The objects around the Divine Couple also become associated in one's mind and heart, and so sometimes something simple like seeing a lone peacock feather can arouse feelings of spiritual blues and pleasure. That is the spiritual world and sky. Similarly persons around Krsna incite opportunities for humble service and appreciation, such as Mother Yasoda, as everything and everybody is in some very real and unique way an expression of that Divine Prema ! All is Krsna displaying aspects of Himself.
