Editor; We humbly beg to differ with Puri Maharajah in one thing, who like Gour Govinda Swami, says there must be living guru. But Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura Prabhupada himself took sannyasa from a picture of his spiritual master Srila Gaurakishore, so it is seen that in emergency situations, then it can be done. One can argue that sanyasa is not diksha, and there is some merit in that argument.
However ;
There have been gaps in the disciplic succession, and our acaryas have taken initiations from so called non-living gurus to keep the sampradaya going in times when there was no qualified guru, so there is a longer tradition of accepting extraordinary arrangements in emergency times.
This is our basis of the current diksha ritvik arrangements on site. We accept the preceptors and the traditions necessary for the institutions of Vasinavism, but must also say that Srila Prabhupadas institution is more than these, is without precedence, as so much of what Srila Prabhupada did was without precedence in the history of recent Vaisnavism, and so must be preserved without aduleration by other branches of the Chaitanya tree, as Srila Prabhupada said, "It is the will of Krsna."
Gour Govinda was the next acarya, and there is indication that Srila Radha Govinda Swami also, but GGS was disbarred by a demonic GBC, leaving us with the current emergency situation. Rather than allowing so much misfortune, we are taking the risk of allowing ritvik diksha to encourage the up and coming generations. Yes, it is similar to Christianity in that broad sense, but it works, and we shall continue until it is obvious that another pure devotee of great power to lead us all has come. We follow Srila Rupa Goswamis instructions, accept all things favorable and reject all things unfavorable. Hare Krsna. Let Krsnas will be done.
See the next video, where it is indicated "It is his ideas!" He has acted extraordinarily and started something tha cannot be stopped by cheating gurus of GBC ilk, thus we accept the standard process of elected temple presidents recommending for diksha, and any brahmana who represents the devotees is eligible to take this service, eben the most poor and obscure, so long as they follow Srila Prabhupada and are his disciples.
