If you are not well-grounded in self-realization it is easily possible to become influenced by Maya's agenda. She will slip false ego in when we least expect it, deferring our energies away from the intent of pure devotional service to that of mere mundane politics and social reforms. Those things, the wanted social reforms, are part of Vedic culture, and a revolution of Krsna consciousness will install necessary social reforms, provided we are ourselves reformed and pure. Reporting on social corruption and demonic governments etc is helpful, and necessary, and called for, but is not in itself our end game ; we wish Krsna consciousness to replace bodily consciousness.

Newer less-fixed-up practitioners may wish to avoid the big picture, world-wide struggle, at first, until such time as their minds are settled and their allegiances and determination to serve is well fixed. World politics is a deep well of maya, unless one's intent is Krsna conscious reform of same.

Can you imagine a world run by the likes of Caru and Jayapataka et al? Would you want to live in a society run by mad satanic monks like them? No? Then it is time to oust the fakes and elitists, to put bhakti yoga back in the hands of all the people, not just under control by selfish orange-clad sociopaths and raksasas. Otherwise, we can bring down the corrupt governments and dictators and wannabe gods, but do we have a positive replacement?

For the best outcome, both must go hand-in-hand; personal righteousness due to purity of chanting Hare Krsna, and the fight to right things in this world.
