THE VIRTUAL CONFESSION OF RAVANA (Continued) - "OTHER DISTURBING PARTS OF THE 1977 CONVERSATIONS (1) SP: That is my only request, that at the last stage do not torture me and kill me. (November 3, 1977) COMMENT: Why does he speak so clearly about being tortured and being killed? He seemed to be very aware that his disciples were poisoning him, which would reveal a week later, and wanted to be sure they wouldn't take him to a hospital. (2) BHAV: That's why we asked you for guidance yesterday. Prabhupada: No, I will guide you. They won't take me to the hospital. They better kill me here. Svarupa Damodara: We will not, Srila Prabhupada. BHAV : Never. SP: But if you're disgusted, that's something else. (October 22, 1977)
COMMENT : Why ? Is Srila Prabhupada talking so openly about being killed, that it is better to kill me here, rather than in the hospital? They better kill me here. This is shocking, and indicates that he had agreed to be killed or poisoned, only asking for permission to be killed in his temple, not in the hospital.
(3) “He is as cunning as anyone. "(Tamal on Srila Prabhupada, 9 November 1977, authenticated speech in low voice) COMMENT: Is Srila Prabbupada cunning? What cunningness and competition was going on with Srila Prabhupada?. (4) “He’s trying to get us. ” (Tamal, on Srila Prabhupada, November 9, 1977, authenticated whisper)
COMMENT: Catch us ? It seems Tamal and Srila Prabhupada knew that the other knew what was going on and that there was a competitive psychological intrigue. This fits Tamal's shy phrase: "Now choose which suicide you want."
SUMMARY: “Ravana will kill” is full of meaning. We must accept its clear meaning. Srila Prabhupada, who had already spoken three times about being poisoned in the previous two days (November 9 and 10), said she wants to go to parikrama (even if she dies) and not stay in her rooms. He said that if he stays, he will be killed by Ravana, and if he leaves, he will be cured or killed by Rama. It is better to die for Rama than for Ravana. Hearing Tamal's tape saying, "Now you have to choose which suicide you want," one clearly hears sarcastic amusement in his voice. What does Tamal mean by choice of suicide? Only he could say such a thing to Srila Prabhupada! Unmistakably, Tamal is shy, boasting that Srila Prabhupada will die one way or another. This is a subtle but obvious admission to complicity in the now-established cadmium poisoning. Also, just as Ravana used Marici to deceive Sita, so also the Ravanas in ISKCON i.e. the so called unauthorized gurus/sannyasis, have deceived and misled thousands of devotees by using the name of Srila Prabhupada without actually following their instructions. In His name only... talk... a mask of guru bhakti (see Book Two).
In Part 2 we saw that Tamal was only concerned about who informed Srila Prabhupada about the poisoning, and not at all whether it was true, let alone do something practical about it. Did Tamal, as the chief caretaker and personal secretary of His Divine Grace, do something about the poisoning, for which Srila Prabhupada was in great “mental distress”? No, he didn't do anything, which is very incriminating now that the poisoning is confirmed. At least Ravana got rid of her costume and revealed her identity as Ravana after kidnapping Sita, but in Kali Yuga fraudulent sannyasis never abandon their costume until they are exposed as cheaters, and even then sometimes they don’t, like when a sannyasi guru dropped from ISKCON just carry on as a supposed family guru.
