Srila Prabhupada boldly and fearlessly acted as a 'One-Man Army' fighting a huge battle against illusion or Maya. He even named His enemies in this fight. In the West it was the Christians, Scientists, and Some parents, who lost their Sons and Daughters not to 'drugs, sex, and rock en roll', but to the 'Swamiji's' missionary service.

Prabhupada: Unfortunately, I am struggling single-handed. And they are criticizing me in the [India] Parliament. You have seen the recent article (newspaper) Blitz against me? What is that heading? "Ungodly face." I am doing ungodly? But they are advertising like that, trying to make me unpopular. The Mayavadis, they say that Bhaktivedanta Swami is ruining Hinduism. They are saying like that. So I am being criticized in Parliament, I am criticized by the so-called jagad-gurus who have never seen what is jagat. And so on, so on>>> Ref. Prabhupada: The Mäyävädi philosophers are like that. Now they are saying, "Bhaktivedanta Swami simply stresses on Krsna. He is spoiling the Hindu dharma." That is their propaganda. Yes. Because I am stressing on Krsna, so they take it otherwise, that "He is spoiling Hindu dharma." Yes.There are many sannyäs's, they are saying recently in Hyderabad they are saying. They have not taken my name; they have taken this "Europeans, American Vaishnava's, Hare Krsna people, they are spoiling Hindu religion." And somebody said, "Unfortunately, their leader is an Indian." They are envious. So in India there are my enemies. In this country also, there are my enemies. Simply Krsna is protecting. Otherwise how I can declare this war alone against all svamis, all yogis, all pseudo-religionists, all politicians, all leaders, all scientist? So our business is to protest against all of them. What is this business? Very unhappy, hard task. My Guru Maharaja did it. And my Godbrother supported that I am killing Hinduism also. >>> Ref. Prabhupada: My Godbrothers, they are trying to suppress me. They are writing articles that in foreign countries Ratha-yatra is going on, so many temples have been, but they will never mention my name. They have suppressed. The whole world is envious. Prabhupada: One of our foolish Godbrothers criticized our sannyasi Brahmananda Svami, saying that this was a Mayavadi name. The foolish man did not know that Brahmananda does not always refer to the impersonal Brahman. Para-brahman, the Supreme Brahman, is Krsna. Prabhupada: It is very regrettable that complacent so-called devotees criticize the members of the ISKCON for accepting sannyasa and spreading the cult of Lord Caitanya all over the world. It is not our business to criticize anyone, but because they try to find fault with this movement, the real truth must be stated. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu wanted devotees all over the world, and Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura and Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura confirmed this. It is in pursuit of their will that the ISKCON movement is spreading all over the world. Prabhupada: But sometimes my godbrother criticizes that I am sannyasi, I am taking part in marriage. So I have got very good difficulties. Here, when I come to India, they say that I am spoiling Hindu system of religion. And when I go there, the Christian says that "You are the greatest enemy." [laughter] This is my position. You see. If I go ahead, then... And if I go behind, then... So what can be done? I have to execute my duty. I am not encouraged by the government, by my godbrothers, and still I have to do this duty. Prabhupada: Whatever done is done, and it is done single-handed. Nobody has helped me, even not my Godbrothers. These American boys, they have helped me. They understood the philosophy and they helped me. Rather, they are criticizing that I am making these American boys sannyāsī and giving them sacred thread. They criticize me. They do not recognize this temple as a Vaiṣṇava temple. Why they criticize? We are trying that. [Bg. 9.32]. Why the papa-yonis should be neglected? So this thing have been done single-handed. There is a great fight. I am not kidnapping. I am not going to their house to kidnap. They are coming to us. And in Bengal there is Nityānanda-vaṁśa. What is Nityānanda-vaṁśa? Nityānanda went forward before Jagāi-Mādhāi and He was hurt. Blood came out. Where is that Nityānanda-vaṁśa? That is Nityānanda-vaṁśa, simply taking advantage of coming from Nityānanda-vaṁśa, "I have become guru. Give me your money," and sit down. "Let me enjoy life with my wife and children."
