Srila Prabhupada, our eternal spiritual authority and divine master said, "He (Srila Gour Govinda Swami) is a pure devotee from birth, you are all new men."

Pushkaraksha Das After Yamuna devi dasi and I had been initiated in Orissa on Rama Navami in 1986, as we were expressing some days later our sadness to have to leave soon and be deprived of his association, Srila Gour Govinda Maharaja became very grave, looked at me and said: "This is an eternal loving relationship. It is not dependant on time and space." Then he added "Think about this very deeply Puskaraksa...!"

Rasa Manjari Actually Srila Prabhupada told Srila Gour Govinda Swami 1. To accept disciples, have his own men to further the success of the projects Srila Prabhupada had given him and 2. Srila Prabhupada also told him he wanted him to be the 'head'. Srila Gour Govinda Swami very humbly replied that he wanted to be 'tail' but Srila Prabhupada again ordered him. "I want" so Srila Gour Govinda Swami had to accept. In a letter to Rupanuga Srila Prabhupada explains about wanting the GBC to select the self-effulgent acarya amongst them but instead our GBC tried to kick him out of ISKCON, but ultimately were forced to resolve that this day of Srila Gour govinda Swami should be observed by all of ISKCON on account of the divine way he left the world of his own free will to return to his beloved Lord, Sri Gopal Jiu in mahabhava. If only the ones who 'beg to differ' with an 'open mind' would actually open their minds enough to read about him and also hear him speak or read his words. They are afraid that appreciating Srila Gour Govinda Sawmi would diminish their faith or devotion to Srila Prabbhupada mainly because they have been cheated by fake currency. Just because there is fake currency does NOT mean there is no real currency. Srila Gour Govinda Swami increases ones faith and devotion to Srila Prabhupada and also clears up alot of ISKCON misconceptions and contaminations. Still, it is better to stick to Srila Prabhupada and avoid him if you are going to be offensive. He is really not for everyone and Srila Prabhupada is. Just like harinam kirtan in the streets were for everyone in Navadwip but the kirtans at Srivas Pandits house were private, doors were locked. "One time Lord Chaitanya stopped dancing during kirtan and an­nounced that He was not feeling His usual exultation. "Why am I not feeling happy?" the Lord asked the devotees. "Why is My heart not exalting in bliss and joy?" The devotees looked around at each other, but they could not understand. At that time Shrivas Pandit started looking around the compound and in a corner, hiding behind a crate, he found the mother of his wife. Not considering his mother-in-law qualified to be present, he removed her from the compound."" All of these pastimes, which are only a sampling of the millions of pastimes that took place at Shrivas Angan, are eternally being per­formed, and one who has been favored by Prabhu Nityananda can relish them to this day. So let us all bow in total humility and take the dust from Shrivas Angan upon our bodies as a decorative ornament. Gaura Premanandi! Haribol!" Hare Krishna.   Al Adikavi Wolf I just wrote a while ago on here that I told Gour Govinda Maharaja I didn't have any love for Lord Jagannatha, trying to understand more about why someone would. He looked at me partially in amazement, and partially like he was going to cry, and asked me, "You have no love for Lord Jagannatha?". I could tell right away that he had a lot, and I had shown my ignorance. Then we went out on harinam in Bhubaneshwar. We went to a section of the town where everyone has their houses painted with pictures of Lord Jagannatha on them. He told me to shout out to everyone that I did not like Lord Jagannatha. When I did some men started coming out to beat me! Then they said since they saw who I was with they knew something was up but they didn't know what, since I was with my guru. So I saw that not only my guru but lots of other devotees of Lord Jagannatha were living there at Bhubaneshwar.

• Rasa Manjari Can you imagine? My daughter in law had so much Love for Lord Jagannath she would cry but after she joined NM he told her Lord Jagannath was inferior somehow and she dropped Him and went to Radha and Krishna. NM also doesn't understand Mahaprabhu or how could he teach that? Who did Mahaprabhu go to see and faint before? Whose mood is Mahaprabhu in and Who does He see in Lord Jagannath? Lord Jagannth is the interactive Lord, the manifestation of Lord Krishna's mahabhava for Srimate Radharani and the residents of Vrindaban dham.

  Rasa Manjari For this age Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Sri Jagannath Swami are Sri Sri Radha and Krishna in separation. And feelings of separation are how the Lord gets bound up in the heart and how the soul is transfered to Him by missing Him. There cannot be separation or else how can one live?

  Pushkaraksha Das In regards to the above presentation, I think Srila Gour Govinda Maharaja is as much for everyone, as Srila. Prabhupada is, in the sense that he is a bona fide acarya in our Parampara.
  Whether we have the purity to appreciate and follow their teachings (pracar) and example (acar) is another debate and a consideration of another level...!

  Acharya Dasa Whoever was against HHGGS was working against Prabhupada like so many Vyomasuras at Govardhan locking devotees in the caves of shopping malls selling Hong Kong paintings, stickers, women's shawls - just ANYTHING but Prabhupada's books. The leader of those asuras got his head cut off.

  Acharya Dasa HAHA okay, but that's exactly what one cowherd boy told another when he caught on that Vyomasura wasn't a cowherd boy, only dressed like one. Both those guys who hesitated to blow the whistle got locked up in a cave. Just sayin.
