Dassa Tamoharra As a brahmacari, I was travelling on the grey Mercedes bus with the German yatra lads mostly, Hansadutta in charge. I'd been in the Movement several years, and when i put on tilak, they were fairly large and clear. I don't know what was going down, but one new devotee was talking with Hansadutta Prabhu about tilak, and he turned and pointed to me and said" You should put on your tilak like Tamohara does." LOL, I was of course rather pleased with that recommendation. I liked tilaks.
- Dassa Tamoharra That was quite a journey, from Mayapura to Vrndavana. We saw one truck go down with all hands in front of our eyes on the Ganga, almost started a fight with a Maypole group of Kali dancers in Bengal, sprayed bus windshield washer water on fat people serving sweets in Bihar, much to their delight, showed Indian people films of our Movement and fed them prasadam, and had some small kirtans, transported a large clay pot of Ganga water, read much of CC, almost got stepped on by elephants in Prayaga, visited Bindu MadhavaJI, and we actually cooked some prasadam for a change, and then finally ended up crying in ecstasy in Vrndavana in front of Sri Sri Krsna and Balarama, Radha Madhava. Hansadutta predicted lung problems for me due to my astology or something, and i next year almost died of pneumonia in the left lung, but Jayapataka saved my life.Dassa Tamoharra At maha kumbha mela in 1976, Hansadutta Prabhu was there. We did kirtan and distributed some Bhagavata Darshans, He was having some passport difficulties, wished to borrow my Canadian one, which at the time was best for India, but that didn't work out. I again saw him in Mayapura a couple months later. I joined his bus party, swam the Saraswati across to Sril Bhaktivinoda's samadhi. Several of us got sunstroke and were down for three days or more. We travelled by bus to Ekachakragrama, and had wonderful darshan there. Kapila Prabhu from France and I got accidentally left behind, slept too far away at a temple porch, were not noticed as missing until later, and consequently walked across much of that dhama and chanted. We made it back to Mayapura, and Hansadutta was amused and happy to see us after a small world of adventure penniless travelling back. Hansadutta never seemed to sleep; when it was getting late, he simply kirtaned on, wonderful kirtan. Hare Krsna. Gauranga !
