 AUDIO FORENSICS
The ISKCON GBC leaders have consistently and relentlessly claimed for decades now that they do not hear any whispers about poisoning by caretakers on recordings made on Nov. 11, 1977, days prior to the physical departure of His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada. Thousands of devotees have easily recognized the content of these audio recordings, however. While the GBC has not done any audio forensic studies to back up their denials, Balavanta das (the first GBC investigator) and Prabhupada Truth Commission obtained many analyses from highly reputable laboratories. All these studies, as well as the vast majority of devotees outside ISKCON, have confirmed these audio recordings to be about poisoning Srila Prabhupada.
A 4 year-long forensic study by Truth Labs (Hyderabad) determined in 2024, from the MURR hair analyses and their own audio forensic study, that there was a poisoning conspiracy in 1977 by caretakers, and that Srila Prabhupada was lethally, homicidally poisoned. Truth Labs’ landmark study was solicited by Justice For Srila Prabhupada Foundation, confirmed the poison whispers, and can be found online at www.justiceforsrilaprabhupadafoundation.org where the audio files can be heard clearly.
But it is not possible to wake up those who pretend to be asleep.
SUMMARY OF POISON WHISPER CONFIRMATIONS:
*WHISPER #1: “THE POISON’S GOING DOWN, (giggle) THE POISON’S GOING DOWN”
(speaker: Tamal Krishna Goswami, but he claimed he said “The swelling’s going down”)
The following agree on the above or a very similar version, and all agree on the poison word:
(1) Naveen, Balavanta, Mahabuddhi, Isa, and many others
(2) JP French Associates, York, UK, 1998 (confirmed “going down,” had a poor quality tape)
(3) Jack Mitchell, CAE Studios, 1999
(4) Dr. Helen McCaffrey, Ph.D., 1999
(5). Tom Owens, Owl Investigations, 2001
(6). JBR Technologies, Virginia, 2005
Tape location: ConvBk Vol. 36, p. 373, line 11, just after Srila Prabhupada says, “You make me flat.” Side A Tape T-46, 1:55 minutes.
*WHISPER #2: “IS THE POISON IN THE MILK?…UH HUH”
(speaker: Tamal, as many devotees agree by listening to the voice) The following all agree on the above or a similar version; such as “it’s not poison (ed/ing)”- but all agree on the poison word:
(1) George Blackwell's Sound Studio, Miami, 1997
(2) Balavanta's Skylab Sound Studio, Gainesville, 1997
(3). Naveen, Balavanta, Mahabuddhi, Isa, and scores of others
(4). JP French Associates, York, UK, 1998
(5). Tom Owens, Owl Investigations, 2001
(6). JBR Technologies, Virginia, 2005
Tape location: ConvBk Vol. 36, p. 373, line 22, just after Jayapataka says: “Like to follow the same treatment, only while traveling.” Side A Tape T-46, 3:20 minutes. A few minutes after this whisper, "Is the poison in the milk?" at 1:30 PM on November 10, 1977, Bhakticharu gives Srila Prabhupada hot milk to drink. Srila Prabhupada said it was too sweet after Bhakticharu asked if it was too hot (only milk is hot; not juices or water). How can one not wonder if there was poison in Bhakticharu's milk?
*WHISPER #3: “POISONING for a (long) time” (Srila Prabhupada replies weakly: “To me?”)
(speaker: Jayapataka’s unique voice is clearly recognizable) The following all agree on the above or a similar version, and all agree on the poisoning word.
(1) Naveen, Balavanta, Mahabuddhi, Isa, and scores of others
(2) Jack Mitchell, CAE Studios, 1999
(3) Dr. Helen McCaffrey, Ph.D., 1999 (except for “long”)
(4) Tom Owens, Owl Investigations, 2001/ Tape location: ConvBk Vol. 36, p. 391, line 4, after Srila Prabhupada says, “Yes” and between two of several stop-starts of the recorder, as Hansadutta begins a kirtan, Side B Tape T-46, ± 21 min.
*FOURTH WHISPER (FOR THE RECORD, AS YET UNSTUDIED)
A low volume statement by Tamal, less whisper and more of a hushed speech, during the conversation about Marici, Ravana, and Rama:
TAMAL: “IS THIS ABOUT POISONING SRILA PRABHUPADA?”
REPLY BY UNKNOWN PERSON: “VERY MUCH.”
Location: ConvBk Vol. 36, p. 378, line 20-21, after Srila Prabhupada says, “…then it is better.” This is during the Ravana Will Kill episode, on Side A Tape T-46, about midway. It clearly sounds like the poison word, and clearly is Tamal speaking. It has not been studied by any audio forensic laboratories as yet.
*CONCLUSIONS-
Appointed by the GBC in late 1997 to investigate the evidence that Srila Prabhupada may have been maliciously poisoned 20 years earlier, Balavanta submitted his initial findings in 2000 while recommending further investigation and funding. That same day he was pushed aside and denied further authority to complete his investigation, and the GBC endorsed a fraudulent sham investigation by none other than the 4 poisoning suspects themselves. The GBC declared the matter was solved and that there was “no evidence” of any poisoning.
Balavanta’s investigative results included audio forensic studies done by J.P. French (London), Gerry King’s Skylab (Gainesville), and George Blackwell’s Soundtrack in Miami. Prabhupada Truth Commission obtained audio forensic studies from Computer Audio Ent. (CAE- Jack Mitchell), Dr. McCaffrey, JBR Technologies (James Reames, retired FBI), and Owl Investigations (Tom Owens).
The results of the audio forensic studies have provided impressive, multiple confirmations of the poison whispers and the poisoning conspiracy by Srila Prabhupada’s caretakers. There is no doubt that Tamal, Jayapataka, Bhavananda, and perhaps others were “whispering about poison and the use of it” (Owl Investigations). Only ISKCON institutionalists with deeply embedded ulterior interests deny that the whispers are certified evidence of the conspiracy to poison Srila Prabhupada.
Isha das’ 9 year-old son with headphones could hear “poison” in all 4 of the above whispers. Yet the GBC claim that there are no poison whispers, and they cannot hear the word “poison.” Of course, amongst different individuals there are some differences on the details of the whispers, but the poison word itself is clear and definite. All the forensic studies concur on the poison word in the 3 principal whispers. This is why professional audio forensic laboratories with their specialized sound analyzing equipment need to be employed, to ascertain the actual content of the “poison whispers.”
The fact is that the scientific methods of audio forensics rise far above human subjectivity. The many verdicts of the forensic audio experts confirm the majority of devotee’s opinions on the whispers’ contents. The experts’ exacting scientific studies are accepted in courts. The science is real, tested, authentic, and bona fide. Comments about the whispers from devotees included:
“…the whispers constitute weighty evidence. There are multiple whispers, confirmed by multiple audio-forensic professionals that include the word poison. This fact requires quite a stretch of the imagination to find any innocent interpretation. The straightforward interpretation is the whisperers were involved in a plot to murder by poisoning.” and...
“Below is true from the first day I heard them in late 1997 here at home. And further confirmed at every step and every forensic report. ‘Poison going down’ has been confirmed several times, and not just the word ‘poison,’ let’s wake up a bit, they are totally incriminating whispers, nothing less. Giggles? Milk is being given? C’mon. Put on some headphones, and go do a listen again please.”
Only the ISKCON misleaders and poison suspects cannot hear the poison word in the three principal whispers on tape T-46. Almost everyone else hears them. But, the usual lineup of dishonest deniers is contradicted by multiple confirmations from top-notch audio forensic specialists.

The whispers evidence strongly supports that Srila Prabhupada was maliciously poisoned, and when coupled with all other evidence, the conclusion becomes overwhelming and certain. The four heavy metals-positive MURR-Dr. JS Morris hair tests (1999-2005) were the final nail in the coffin of denials. The official GBC resolution, "There is no evidence at this time to support the allegations of the poisoning of Srila Prabhupada," makes a mockery of ISKCON leadership.
The poison whispers, confirmed many times by expert audio specialists and labs, constitute solid, legal proof that Srila Prabhupada’s caretakers had lethally poisoned him with heavy metals.
