"sin" MEANS ONE BEING CAUSES ANOTHER TO SUFFER.

There is a Supercomputor that makes precise and perfect judgement about whether our actions etc increase or decrease the suffering and happiness of others. It is automatic, like other universal laws of physics etc. SIN means to cause hurt or suffering to any other being(s), including ourselves and Godhead Parama-atma, Supersoul, Lord Sri Janardana, Who dwells within all. He sees even the little sparrow fall.

Spiritual life means increasing the happiness of Godhead. If we do that, we will be treated special, we will be rewarded with spiritual happiness ourselves. If we always only do that which is good to God, Sri Krsna, then only spiritual goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our life, and we shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

We call this Supercomputor; Supersoul, His Name is Janardana in this particular universe. He resides within the heart, and experiences everything we do and then some. Thus, living in every atom, He knows the results of our actions and sins. He wishes us to be free and happy, but we insist on abusing others to gain some twisted-ego-pleasure, and so we are kicked out of heaven and endure here in the material universe until we reform our ways.
