Understanding Mayapur’s land mafia wars
ISKCON news website reported a murder that happened in Mayapur 3 days ago. However, in the manner of regime journalists, they didn’t exactly explain the mafia power struggle in Mayapur.
Comment by a devotee who reported the case
who ordered a hit I can only speculate
big boss for land in Mayapur are only two people
Nareswara and Dayarama
since time immemorial
but that you order a hit on someone, must be some crazy situation
this photos I got from private, they are not online
I assume they will not post much onlineThat devotee who was shot, was working for Alay Govind Das, head of ISKCON Mayapur land department. Alay Govinda had a crew of devotees working for him and they were calling themselves Cobra Gang.
When TOVP was starting to grew more and more, mafia from Krishnanagar started to purchase land around TOVP and nearby. So who shot him it could be local mafia or internal ISKCON dispute.
Since local bengali mafia devotees beat up a few GBC and threatened them, GBC cant do nothing to them because they are scared. Once Jayapataka will be gone, Bhakti purosottama swami and the gangs will take over TOVP.
They did same with SP Samadhi, they waited to be finshed, Uttama sloka extablished a really good managament system with lots of cash flow, they threatened him and his family so he run away to Austraila.
Same will happen to TOVP, bengalis are patiently waiting to be build, then they will take over.
White man invests and builds, bengali mafia takes over. If you are white devotee living in Mayapur and not sticking ur nose into managament, they are all friends with you, once you start to sniff around, they might shoot you too.
not many people knows they call themselves Cobra Gang, not even gbc, but the locals know

Dark pure devotional service
Corruption starts will a lack of transparency. In Mayapur, there is no transparency. Who owns what piece of land is hard to say. India, being a third world country, there is no digital land registry, and the government officials are often incompetent and corrupt.
Furthermore, it is not possible for foreigners to own land or property in India. So, if ISKCON wants to buy land for expansion of Mayapur city, then ISKCON devotees usually establish various trusts and NGOs which are headed by Jayapataka Swami disciples. Since those Bengali disciples don’t have any money, so finances to buy land come from other sources. Which sources? It’s hard to say. Everything is murky in Mayapur, who owns what, who is the real owner of a property, it is hard to say.
Such murky, non-transparent business practices are an ideal breeding ground for corruption and mafia activities.
Why pure mafia devotees such as Jayapataka Swami don’t establish a transparent and open system for establishing and governing land purchase operations in Mayapur? Well, obviously both Jayapataka Swami and his disciples enjoy the benefits of the murky system in which it is not clear what is going on.
If we look at the original article, we can see that:
The victim, Rashik Shekhar Das, was a Mayapur community member involved in several businesses, including ghee production and land sales.
Land sales? What kind of land sales? Who is buying the land, who is selling the land, who is financing the sale? We will never know.
So, this devotee was either killed by rivaling clan within the ISKCON mafia, or mafia from Krishnanagar.

As my friend already explained, Uttamasloka incorporated a transparent system, but he was chased away by Jayapataka Swami’s mafia disciples, so he had to run away to Australia. My question here is how it is possible that pure devotee Jayapataka Swami is leading the mafia? Why didn’t he publicly reject those crooked disciples? He is actually partially responsible for the activities of his disciples. Guru is supposed to teach his disciples to become honest people, instead of that, Jayapataka is creating an uncontrollable mafia who are raging war between themselves and with other mafia groups.
So, when he needs to receive garlands and sweets, Jayapataka Swami likes to be a guru, but when he needs to drain the moral swamp in the mafia city, then he becomes very chaste and shy.
Did we ever see any guru in our line to tolerate mafia disciples? No, we didn’t. This is ISKCON imagination. Furthermore, Jayapataka Swami is also a GBC for Mayapur. This means his responsibility is even greater.
If there was an outside threat of violence, why Mayapur management didn’t increase the security of people who could be possible targets? Thinking one step ahead is a sign of intelligence. Now, when the guy is already dead, article is saying:
Mayapur managers requested the community that they should “inform the ISKCON Security Office if any of the community members feel any threat to their personal security, or see any suspicious activities in the community,” Balakrishna Seva Das said.
It’s a little bit late for that now, don’t you think?
So, having faith in corrupt ISKCON mafia leaders can cost you dearly, and you can even lose your life.
The fallacy of Geographical Krishna consciousness
I would like to address the issue of a new philosophy in ISKCON, it’s called geographical Krishna consciousness. Many people want to live in Mayapur for a reason unknown to me.
While reading Srila Prabhupada’s books, I always considered Krishna consciousness to be universal. You can practice it anywhere, as Srila Prabhupada said: “You don’ have to change anything, but you have to add Krishna to your life.” What kind of religion is that where you have to relocate yourself into some third world country with nonfunctioning law and corrupt police. You have to live there as a foreigner to achieve “salvation”.
It seems that many people want to cheat the system, they think that by residing in Mayapur, they will accelerate their transition to the spiritual world. All this is based on the promise of the beneficial influence of the Holy place.
The mass exodus from Europe and Russia to Mayapur seems to be based on Srila Prabhupada instructions:
Such a surrendered soul should take shelter of a holy place like Vṛndāvana, Mathurā, Dvārakā, Māyāpur, etc., and should surrender himself unto the Lord, saying, “My Lord, from today I am Yours. You can protect me or kill me as You like.” A pure devotee takes shelter of Kṛṣṇa in such a way, and Kṛṣṇa is so grateful that He accepts him and gives him all kinds of protection. (TLC 12)
But we should ask ourselves, are we surrendered souls? Are we a pure devotee yet?
Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu is always accompanied by His very confidential associates such as Śrī Nityānanda, Śrī Gadādhara and Śrī Advaita and by many devotees like Śrīvāsa. They are always engaged in chanting the name of the Lord and are always describing Lord Kṛṣṇa. Therefore this is the best among all the places in the universe. The Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement has established its center in Māyāpur, the birthsite of Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, to give men the great opportunity to go there and perform a constant festival of saṅkīrtana-yajña, as recommended herein (yajñeśa-makhā mahotsavāḥ) and to distribute prasāda to millions of hungry people hankering for spiritual emancipation. This is the mission of the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement. (SB 5.19.24p)
See, Srila Prabhupada says that if you want to be a resident of Mayapur, you should be “always engaged in chanting the name of the Lord and are always describing Lord Kṛṣṇa.” Srila Prabhupada doesn’t mention opening gyms, football tournaments, money laundering, mafia killings, and other materialistic activities.
However, if we study Srila Prabhupada’s books carefully, we see many other relevant philosophical points.
Whenever and wherever there are peaceful, equipoised devotees who are well behaved and decorated with all good qualities, that place and the dynasties there, even if condemned, are purified.
PURPORT
Wherever exalted devotees stay, not only they and their dynasties but the entire country is purified. (SB 7.10.19)
Everybody needs to try to perfect his Krishna consciousness and help his fellow men to advance spiritually. The whole world needs exemplary people who practice Krishna consciousness in their local communities. Escaping to Mayapur to live a cowardly life under a mafia regime is not the solution.
We simply request you with folded hands that you kindly chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. We are simply requesting you. We’re not asking you to pay us something or to suffer something or be educated or be engineer or be lawyer, then come to us. Never mind what you are. Stay in your position. Simply try to chant these sixteen words, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. You can try for one week. And there is no hard and fast rules. You can chant anywhere and everywhere. While walking you can chant, while driving you can chant. Nobody is going to tax, that “You are chanting. Give me this tax.” It is very easy. (Lecture – April 2, 1968)
