SB 11.14.1: Śrī Uddhava said: My dear Kṛṣṇa, the learned sages who explain Vedic literature recommend various processes for perfecting one's life. Considering these varieties of viewpoint, my Lord, please tell me whether all these processes are equally important, or whether one of them is supreme.

SB 11.14.2: My dear Lord, You have clearly explained the process of unalloyed devotional service, by which a devotee removes all material association from his life, enabling him to fix his mind on You.

SB 11.14.3: The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: By the influence of time, the transcendental sound of Vedic knowledge was lost at the time of annihilation. Therefore, when the subsequent creation took place, I spoke the Vedic knowledge to Brahmā because I Myself am the religious principles enunciated in the Vedas.

'Krsna-kathamrta'

By HDG Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur

APPEARANCE OF THE DIVINE

The appearance of Godhead in this world implies the co-appearance of all His Divine paraphernalia. Godhead must not be conceived as in any way separable from His entourage. Godhead shorn of any of His paraphernalia is a delusion. In the same way the appearance of divine paraphernalia involves the appearance of the divinity. The two are distinct yet inseparable forms of the one Supreme.

Sri Caitanya is the Divine Personality Himself. His associates share His divine nature. Sri Krsna Caitanya is an extended subject. All the six divine forms have to be worshipped if is the intention to worship Sri Caitanya.

The guru is one of His constituents. It is necessary to receive initiation from him. It is also necessary to be instructed by Him. As teacher, the guru has two forms. He guides from within. He also appears as a guide and instructor existing outside his disciples. Initiation is received from

Every year, I travel from Coventry yatra to visit Sri Mayapur Dham for the Temple Presidents' meetings, and although most of the day is spent in meetings, there are times when one can do other transcendental things. My favourite routine is the mangal arati, the tulasi prayer and japa time with all the senior and junior devotees. The sunrise of Sri Mayapur dham is truly magnificent and I always like an early morning walk to Yogapith, the birth place of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Upon entering the Yogapith temple, immediately to the right is installed a life size figure of Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur
a. All the visitors pay homage to His Divine Grace first.

One such glorious morning, having bowed down to Srila Bhaktivinod Thakura, I raised my head to take darshaan of His Divine Grace's noble face and mumbled some wishful words. To my surprise, the white marble face started to change colour. The orange-red glow of the rising sun bathed the Acarya's countenance and filled my heart with joy. I

"Jiva Goswami has explained this; [Cc. adi 1.5]. Radha and Krishna,
they are one, but for pastimes they have become
two. Again they unite as Chaitanya Mahaprabhu."
(Lecture, 5 October 1976.)

"Krishna divided Himself into His energy and Himself.
That original spiritual energy is Radharani. That is
stated by Jiva Goswami. When Krishna wants pleasure,
he cannot accept the inferior energy. The same
superior energy, Krishna, is divided into two. That is
Radha and Krishna. And again, when they unite, that
is Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Divided they are Radha and
Krishna, and united they are Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
sri-krsna-caitanya rädhä-krsna nahe anya — anya
means another. So Sri Krishna Chaitanya is the
combination of Radha and Krishna. And when they are
divided into two, they are Radha and Krishna. This is
the purport. These are the conclusions. Sri Chaitanya
Mahaprabhu is Radha and Krishna combined. Krishna

Almost everyone has heard of Lord Christ, Lord Buddha, and the Prophet Mohammed, but very few people know anything about Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who appeared at the district of Mayapura, West Bengal, India, in the year of 1486. What makes Him so extraordinary is that He is a more recent incarnation of the same divine person, Krishna, who spoke the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna. This time, instead of appearing as the majestic advisor to Arjuna, He appeared in the role of His own devotee.

Lord Caitanya’s Primary Mission

Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s primary mission was focused on the task of reestablishing the principals of religion. In this current millennium, known as Kali-yuga, (Iron Age of Darkness, Quarrel, Pride & Ignorance) the Lord does not directly engage in chastising the demoniac, or protecting the faithful like the Bhagavat Purana recorded about His activities during the Satya, Treta and Dvapara yugas. Therefore Lord Caitanya is sometimes referred to as the Tri-yuga avatara.

Parishads: Sri Madhavendra Puri

Parishads: Sri Madhavendra Puri

by Srila Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Maharaja

[Excerpted from "Sri Chaitanya: His Life & Associates"]

srdg.jpg - 25338 Bytes Mahaprabhu's seniors, His parents and gurus, are all his servants and eternal associates and they take their birth prior to His appearance in order to serve Him in their own way.

Whenever Krishna descends to the earth, He first sends down His elders. These include His father, mother, guru and all the other persons He considers to be the objects of His respect. He arranges that these persons should accept birth before He does. Madhavendra Puri, Ishvara Puri, Sachi, Jagannath, and Advaita Acharya are amongst those who appeared in this way.
(Chaitanya-Charitamrita 1.3.92-4)

Later in the Chaitanya Charitamrita (1.13.52-55), the same thing is stated in the following way:

Whenever the son of the king of Vraja decides to appear on earth in order to fulfill a particular desire, He first sends down His seniors. I will briefly name some of them as it is not possible to

Amalaki Ekadasi

from the Brahmanda Purana.    9468741856?profile=original

King Mandhata once said to Vasishtha Muni, "O great sage, kindly be merciful to me and tell me of a holy fast that will benefit me eternally."

Vasishtha Muni replied. "O king, kindly listen as I describe the best of all fast days, Amalakii Ekadasi. He who faithfully observes a fast on this Ekadasii obtains enormous wealth, gets free of the effects of all kinds of sins, and attains liberation. Fasting on this Ekadasii is more purifying than donating one thousand cows in charity to a pure brahmana. So please hear me attentively as I tell you the story of a hunter who, though daily engaged in killing innocent animals for his living, achieved liberation by observing a fast on Amalakii Ekadasii and following the prescribed rules and regulations of worship.

"There was once a kingdom named Vaidisha, where all the brahmanas, kshatriyas, vaishyas, and shudras were equally endowed with Vedic knowledge, great bodily strength, and fine intelligence. Oh lion among k

Nukes and spooks, world wars and kooks ; we don't need them at all.

Man is happiest when his necessities are fulfilled with a minimum of effort, and he is free to pursue spiritual realization and pastimes of goodness. There is no reason why each person cannot have a plate of nice prasadam everywhere in the world everyday. There is no reason we cannot raise up good doctors, good teachers, good priests, worldwide. But the world's resources have to be used in His service. So long as selfishness with a small "s" rules, there will be greed and abuse.

The combination of Self-knowledge and understanding of the ultimate spiritual purposes of human life leads to activities in the mode of goodness, in which preservation/sustainability and simplicity rule. Wanting and grabbing more than this, leads to environmental degradation and accumulation of wealth in the hands of abusers. In the end, the biggest thief claws his way to the top, and lords it over all the other smaller thieves, who in turn
