Thoughts on Sri Isopanisad tdasa 2012 class of winter-spring
Listening to Srila Prabhupada's lectures and reading the Isopanishad itself, why do you think Srila Prabhupada chose THIS to translate? What about Sri Isopanishad is the most important?
The Western countries, indeed the world in general, is suffering due to a want of knowledge. This knowledge is available, and it will end all sufferings once and for all. And what is that knowledge? bhakto si me; become My devotee.
When one remembers Krnsa, Krsna remembers one back. Thus is is absolute unity and individuality simultaneously. This is the rasa dance.
isavasyam idam sarvam; from that complete originating unit come so many seperate yet complete whole expansions. as above, so below
will under love, thats the law.
Past that lonesome sea of blissful peacefullness the brahmjyoti, lies a superior realm where in form again is fully revealed, not inferior forms, but forms made of eternal awareness in passionate attention and service, in fixation and spontaneous attraction, much like a magnet orienting to another magnetic influence. It's that attractive around Krsna, the Blue Magnet!
The ideas of impersonal liberation capture many men in these times of suffering, so Srila Prabhupada has brought a simple yet important and Suddha sattvic literature, clearly laying the impersonal philosophy in its position as a foundation, not the final conclusion, in spiritual affairs. Sri Isopanisad is one of the eight principle of the 108 suddha sattvic Vedic corollary literatures, so it is a good and natural choice, one favored by other acaryas as well. Sri Isopanisad. explains a lot in a short work. It is readily read even by modern people.
The Sri Iso is authoritative and unquestionable as to the conclusion; ie a personal Godhead, not merely a liberated state, is topmost desirable for all.
