The Liberated Soul

Srila Prabhupäda: Our point is that if you do not get knowledge from liberated person, that knowledge is useless. That is cheating. [break] It is very easy. Just like a child. If he takes your direction, he liberated, and if he acts according to his childish nature, then he's conditioned. If you take Kåñëa's instruction, then you are liberated. If you manufacture your own idea, then you are conditioned. Two things. Child is not actually liberated. He is child. But because he takes blindly the direction of the father, he's liberated. That is mäm eva ye prapadyante. Anyone who has surrendered to Kåñëa and strictly follows what Kåñëa says, then he is liberated. Otherwise not. If he manufactures idea, then he's conditioned.
Dr. Patel: It is what? Sarva-dharmän parityajya [Bg. 18.66]?
Prabhupäda: Yes, and it is very easy: "Henceforward I shall simply follow what Kåñëa says." That's all. You become liberated immediately. It is one minute's task, simply to decide that "No

Although the Hare Krsna Maha-mantra gained great fame throughout India with the advent of our Yuga Avatara, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, there are numerous references in the Upanishads and Puranas that predate the Lord's manifestation in Navadvipa.

In the Radha Hridya Khanda of the Brahmanda Purana, Romaharsana Suta offers the following prayer to Sri Veda Vyasa:

yat tvayA kIrtitaM nAtha hari-nAmeti sanjitam

"O master, O mighty one! Please glorify the Hari-nama mantra situated in transcendence, the cause of all perfection!"

Papamocani Ekadasi , Mar.17, 2012

Papamocani Ekadasi, observed on March 17, 2012, from the Bhavishya-uttara Purana.

9468740695?profile=original

Sri Yudhisthira Maharaja said, "Oh Supreme Lord, I have heard from You the explanation of Amalakii Ekadasiii which occurs during the light fortnight of the month of Phalguna (February-March), and now I wish to hear about the ekadasii that occurs during the dark fortnight of the month of Chaitra (March-April). What is its name, Oh Lord, and what results can one attain by observing it?"

The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Sri Krishna, replied, "O best of kings, for the benefit of everyone I shall gladly describe to you the glories of this ekadasii, which is known as Papamochanii. The history of this ekadasii was once narrated to the Emperor Mandhata by Lomasa Rishi. King Mandhata addressed the Rishi, 'Oh great sage, for the benefit of all people, please tell me the name of the ekadasii that occurs during the dark fortnight of the month of Chaitra, and please explain the process for observing it. Srivasa Thakura Bhagavan

Sri%20Srivasa%20Pandita.jpgSrivasa Thakura - Pastimes - Part I
From Sri Panca Tattva, the Five features of God
By Satyaraja dasa

Srivasa Thakura is the ideal householder devotee and he is known as the acarya of maryada-marga (also known as vaidhi-bhakti, or the path of scriptural injunctions). He is exemplary for all devotees who are worshippers of Laksmi-Narayana in Vaikuntha or Sri Gaura-Narayana in Navadvipa. He was the first to whom Mahaprabhu revealed Himself as God almighty, with four arms, in all His majesty and glory.

Although Srivasa Thakura is married, Gaudiya Vaisnavas tend to meditate on him as foremost of the brahmacaris, perhaps because of his identification with Narada Muni (who was always celibate). Consequently, he is often depicted with shaved head and saffron robes, although more often than not he has long hair and wears white apparel. In kirtana he looks especially beautiful, with large lotus eyes and monsoon-like persp

Those who are fit possess an abundant power of devotion. They are strong.
I should not apply myself to finding out the shortcomings of the Vaishnavas, condemning service to Lord Visnu or seeking to establish my own point of view by neglecting the method that may enable me to serve the Lord and His devotees.
No language can describe the havoc that is wrought in human life by such arrogance.
I make this submission with all humility: “Kindly refrain from merely imitating the conduct of the Vaishnavas and please always follow their line of thought.” There is no relationship for us other than with the devotees of Visnu. Relationship with other people can only aggravate the desire for sensuous gratification.
Many years have now passed over me one by one. I at last realise that there is no other help for me than the mercy of the holy feet of the Vaishnavas.

It Don't Come Easy, Hare Krishna, by R. Starr

April 3, 1969 San Francisco, Calif.  Letter to Krishna das
"Don't do anything whimsically. The direction comes through the Spiritual Master, and any one who abides by the order of the Spiritual Master to give shape to the wish of the Lord, he is perfectly surrendered soul."

October 22, 1967 Calcutta, India Letter to Umapati
"Your appreciation of Krishna Consciousness is much improved by the grace of Krishna--because you are chanting Krishna's Holy names constantly. There are some truths which you have expressed as really sublime, especially the portion where you write to say "even though He Himself is unchanging, His glory will always increase."

" Krishna's name is Acyuta, unchanging, but He is Bliss although always full, still increases, to increase the blissful existence of the devotee. Please continue to think of Krishna & you will feel more ; more the Blissful pleasure transcendental to all material contamination."

How does the great mystery of life from birth till death unfolds in our lives? How do we get this body, what does life in mother’s womb really look like, what do we know from pre-natal period, what happens when we are born again… Now, do not panic, do not become depressed, just find out everything in great detail about the complete path of any human being from the following text from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 3.31.1-48

SB 3.31.1: The Personality of Godhead said: Under the supervision of the Supreme Lord and according to the result of his work, the living entity, the soul, is made to enter into the womb of a woman through the particle of male semen to assume a particular type of body.

SB 3.31.2: On the first night, the sperm and ovum mix, and on the fifth night the mixture ferments into a bubble. On the tenth night it develops into a form like a plum, and after that, it gradually turns into a lump of flesh or an egg, as the case may be.

SB 11.14.22: Neither religious activities endowed with honesty and mercy nor knowledge obtained with great penance can completely purify one's consciousness if they are bereft of loving service to Me.

SB 11.14.23: If one's hairs do not stand on end, how can the heart melt? And if the heart does not melt, how can tears of love flow from the eyes? If one does not cry in spiritual happiness, how can one render loving service to the Lord? And without such service, how can the consciousness be purified?

SB 11.14.24: A devotee whose speech is sometimes choked up, whose heart melts, who cries continually and sometimes laughs, who feels ashamed and cries out loudly and then dances — a devotee thus fixed in loving service to Me purifies the entire universe.

SB 11.14.25: Just as gold, when smelted in fir

Bhaktivedanta VedaBase: Śrīmad Bhāgavatam

SB 11.14 Summary

9468735457?profile=original

SB 11.14.1: Śrī Uddhava said: My dear Kṛṣṇa, the learned sages who explain Vedic literature recommend various processes for perfecting one's life. Considering these varieties of viewpoint, my Lord, please tell me whether all these processes are equally important, or whether one of them is supreme.

SB 11.14.2: My dear Lord, You have clearly explained the process of unalloyed devotional service, by which a devotee removes all material association from his life, enabling him to fix his mind on You.

SB 11.14.3: The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: By the influence of time, the transcendental sound of Vedic knowledge was lost at the time of annihilation. Therefore, when the subsequent creation took place, I spoke the Vedic knowledge to Brahmā because I Myself am the religious principles enunciated in the Vedas.

'Krsna-kathamrta'

By HDG Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur

APPEARANCE OF THE DIVINE

The appearance of Godhead in this world implies the co-appearance of all His Divine paraphernalia. Godhead must not be conceived as in any way separable from His entourage. Godhead shorn of any of His paraphernalia is a delusion. In the same way the appearance of divine paraphernalia involves the appearance of the divinity. The two are distinct yet inseparable forms of the one Supreme.

Sri Caitanya is the Divine Personality Himself. His associates share His divine nature. Sri Krsna Caitanya is an extended subject. All the six divine forms have to be worshipped if is the intention to worship Sri Caitanya.

The guru is one of His constituents. It is necessary to receive initiation from him. It is also necessary to be instructed by Him. As teacher, the guru has two forms. He guides from within. He also appears as a guide and instructor existing outside his disciples. Initiation is received from

Every year, I travel from Coventry yatra to visit Sri Mayapur Dham for the Temple Presidents' meetings, and although most of the day is spent in meetings, there are times when one can do other transcendental things. My favourite routine is the mangal arati, the tulasi prayer and japa time with all the senior and junior devotees. The sunrise of Sri Mayapur dham is truly magnificent and I always like an early morning walk to Yogapith, the birth place of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Upon entering the Yogapith temple, immediately to the right is installed a life size figure of Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur
a. All the visitors pay homage to His Divine Grace first.

One such glorious morning, having bowed down to Srila Bhaktivinod Thakura, I raised my head to take darshaan of His Divine Grace's noble face and mumbled some wishful words. To my surprise, the white marble face started to change colour. The orange-red glow of the rising sun bathed the Acarya's countenance and filled my heart with joy. I

"Jiva Goswami has explained this; [Cc. adi 1.5]. Radha and Krishna,
they are one, but for pastimes they have become
two. Again they unite as Chaitanya Mahaprabhu."
(Lecture, 5 October 1976.)

"Krishna divided Himself into His energy and Himself.
That original spiritual energy is Radharani. That is
stated by Jiva Goswami. When Krishna wants pleasure,
he cannot accept the inferior energy. The same
superior energy, Krishna, is divided into two. That is
Radha and Krishna. And again, when they unite, that
is Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Divided they are Radha and
Krishna, and united they are Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
sri-krsna-caitanya rädhä-krsna nahe anya — anya
means another. So Sri Krishna Chaitanya is the
combination of Radha and Krishna. And when they are
divided into two, they are Radha and Krishna. This is
the purport. These are the conclusions. Sri Chaitanya
Mahaprabhu is Radha and Krishna combined. Krishna

Almost everyone has heard of Lord Christ, Lord Buddha, and the Prophet Mohammed, but very few people know anything about Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who appeared at the district of Mayapura, West Bengal, India, in the year of 1486. What makes Him so extraordinary is that He is a more recent incarnation of the same divine person, Krishna, who spoke the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna. This time, instead of appearing as the majestic advisor to Arjuna, He appeared in the role of His own devotee.

Lord Caitanya’s Primary Mission

Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s primary mission was focused on the task of reestablishing the principals of religion. In this current millennium, known as Kali-yuga, (Iron Age of Darkness, Quarrel, Pride & Ignorance) the Lord does not directly engage in chastising the demoniac, or protecting the faithful like the Bhagavat Purana recorded about His activities during the Satya, Treta and Dvapara yugas. Therefore Lord Caitanya is sometimes referred to as the Tri-yuga avatara.
