Sister Mary: Could you listen to other peoples' music?
Prabhupāda: Huh? No. If he's chanting the glories of God, we are very eager to hear him. That is our process. Or somebody's chanting, somebody's hearing. Śravaṇaṁ kīrtanaṁ viṣṇu [SB 7.5.23]. Chanting and hearing about God, that is music.
Sister Mary: Well, a Beethoven symphony, for example, could you listen to that?
Prabhupāda: Which one?
Revatīnandana: Beethoven's symphony. That means classical Western music. They make some music.
Prabhupāda: But if it is glorification of God, we can hear. There is no objection.
Revatīnandana: But there may be no reference to God in it.
Prabhupāda: No, then we don't hear. We reject.
Sister Mary: Inspired by God, given by God.
Prabhupāda: Given by God is everything. That is another thing. Just like everything is government property, but do you like to go to the prison house?
We say, "Oh, everything belongs to government." We are not so liberal that "Because

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Actually, unless someone gets one of your books, there's no way they can come out of the darkness of this material world. There's no other source of knowledge being given them.

Prabhupāda: That is a fact. Śrīmad-bhāgavate mahā-muni-kṛte kiṁ vā śāstraiḥ [SB 1.1.2]. When there is Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, composed, compiled by Vyāsadeva, where is the use of other literature?

Srila Prabhupada, prophet

*Govinda Dasi*
*June 25 at 8:32 AM*
This morning I was remembering something so very clearly. It was in *1968,* and on this particular day, *Srila Prabhupada* was looking very pensive, thoughtful, as if he were *watching a movie of the future.*
Often he would comment on *events in this world,* though we were never connected by *tv or internet—only an occasional newspaper* that would come our way.
But *Srila Prabhupada* would look around and seem to *know what was going on in the world as mystic seers do,* since those *siddhis were always available to him.*
I was always totally unaware of anything that was going on in the outside world, since I considered his room to be *MY world,* and *HE was all the people.*
I was young, *only twenty,* and nothing in the world of current affairs had ever interested me. In high school and college, only Thoreau’s *“Walden Pond”* sparked my interest.
On this day, I went in and sat down quietly in front of his trun

All "Gooroos" must be removed, only Srila Prabhupada is our Sri Gurudeva. All GBC must resign. All temple presidents and officers must resign, and elections held. Only Srila Prabhupada disciples may seek election as Temple President etc. now and hereafter. Those who are disciples of unauthorized "gooroos" may retake a bonafide initiation as eternal servants of Srila Prabhupada, and seek elected office. All duly elected Temple Presidents may recommend and arrange for dikshas for new disciples of Srila Prabhupada.

Prabhupāda: Kṛṣṇa does not say that you have to become like this, like that, like that, then you can serve Him. Does not say. Just like this cow. Just see. What does it know? Is an animal. You see? But the calf knows to brush his head and tongue like this, in love. Just see. It is doing, and Kṛṣṇa accepting, "Yes." That is expert.
First of all find out what is easily done by you. Don't take anything which is not easily done by you. You find out what is your occupation, what you can very nicely and easily perform, and do it for Kṛṣṇa. That's all. Is that clear? Expert? This is expert. Expert does not mean that I do not know how to drive motorcar, and I will have to imitate somebody, "Oh, I shall become driver." Why?
If you do not know driving, why should you attempt driving? Whatever you know, you just try it, that business, and try to satisfy Kṛṣṇa. If you know driving, that's all right. But don't take... My Guru Mahārāja explained that you haven't got to learn anyt

Varanasi Visvanatha, 1976

We walked bullock cart sankirtan from Prayaga after attending maha kumbha mela with Srila Prabhupada. Lokanatha Swami led, party of eight or so, mixed Westerners and Indians. Padmapani was there, myself, and the famous film producer Jon Kay. We arrived in Varanasi without knowing the 500th anniversary of Mahaprabhu's visit. There were even processions in the street of Caitanya murthi. We did kirtan, wound up the rich metal seller's markets narrow avenues to the Srila Visvanatha Temple, and were very nicely and happily greeted, were asked to touch the Deity Linga, Srila Visvanatha, held kirtana hari haraya namah krsna, hare krsna maha mantra etc, priest put tilak and prasadam to us etc. 500 years to the day, Mahaprabhu's mixed disciples showed up to do kirtana just as He had ! We stayed at Ram ghat at a Ram baba temple that evening, full eclipse of moon, we bathed in Ganga that early evening. I watched the silver blue moon sitting at the steps of the ghat with the devotees, chanting Har

BY HIS DIVINE GRACE A. C. BHAKTIVEDANTA SWAMI PRABHUPADA;

My advice to you under the circumstances is that at least for one hour you must all go to have sankirtana outside on the streets or in the park. That is your life and soul, first business. The next business is completing the chanting of 16 rounds every day. The next business is your editing. And if you find extra time then you can attend the temple ceremonies. Otherwise you can stop these activities. But outdoor kirtana, your editing work, and chanting of 16 rounds must be done. Outdoor kirtana must be done, even at the cost of suspending all editorial work. That is your first and foremost business. Temple worship is not so important. If need be, the whole temple can be locked. But the outdoor kirtana cannot be stopped. (Letter to Rayarama, 17 May 1969)

We were waiting for your birth

Guest (1) (girl): Srila Prabhupada, would you please explain why Krsna consciousness hadn't come to the West until now, why it hasn't come earlier?

Prabhupada: Because you were not born. After your birth we have come here to take you back to home, back to Godhead. Now you take the opportunity; come with us. We were waiting for your birth.

Srila Prabhupada..."Na hi gopyam hi sadhunam:" Sadhu, those who are saintly person, for them there is no secret." There is no secret. There is no privacy. A sadhu, sadhu has no privacy. Just now in our ordinary social affairs, there is difference between private life and his public life. Now, if somebody is teacher... Now, he is very good teacher. He can very good... He can explain very nicely a subject matter, but his private life is not very good. Then he is not a teacher. He is not a sadhu. That is Vedic conception. One must be a teacher according to his own behavior in life. There is no secrecy or privacy." Lecture New York, November 4, 1966

Atma Tattva: In the early ‘80s in Bangalore, I was required to make at least two Life Members a month. I was a bad Life Membership maker and one month I had only ten days left. I was looking in the telephone directory for Bengali names and I found a Ganguly.‟ I called and said, “I’m speaking from the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. I want to come and see you today.” Mr. Ganguly sounded positive. He said, “Oh, you are from the Hare Krishna Movement? Please see me at eleven O’clock.”

I took the membership form, a small set of books, a poster and so on, and I went to see him. To my surprise, I found that his was a huge place, almost equal to the aeronautical engineering place in Bangalore. I lost hope— there was no way this man was going to become a member. I went to one secretary, then another, then another, and when my appointment time came I was still with secretaries.

Ganguly was the top man. I thought, “Since I came all this way, I shou

His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
Behind (on left) is the chief culprit Tamal Krishna a.k.a.Thomas Herzig who is alleged
to have conspired with other devious GBC leaders to poison Srila Prabhupada to death.
Note Srila Prabhupada's swollen hands and sun glasses, the effects of the arsenic poisoning.

Dr. Mehta, an Ayurvedic physician who lives in Houston, was shown several photographs of Srila Prabhupada during His last days, and he also observed the video documentary of Srila Prabhupada's last months entitled: "The Final Lesson." Dr. Mehta has been a practicing Ayurvedic physician since 1948. His summary comments are:

"The expression and symptoms of the face, the eyes and the manner of speaking indicate to me that Srila Prabhupada was poisoned, most probably by arsenic or mercury. He Himself said that He was poisoned, confirmed by du

THIS IS CALLED PARAMPARA SYSTEM ....Srila Prabhupada December 10, 19769468750493?profile=original
"You are receiving through his servant. And in future the same knowledge will go to your students. This is called paramparā system. Eva paramparā prāp… It is not that you have become a student and you’ll remain student. No. One day you shall become also guru and make more students, more students, more. That is Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s mission, not that perpetually… Yes, one should remain perpetually a student, but he has to act as guru. That is t...he mission of Caitanya Mahāprabhu. It is not that because I am acting as guru, I am no longer student. No, I am still student. Caitanya Mahāprabhu taught us this instruction that we shall always remain a foolish student before our Guru Mahārāja. That is the Vedic culture. I may be very big man, but still, I should remain a foolish student to my guru. That is the qualification. Guru more mūrkha dekhi’ karila śāśana. We should be always prepared to be controlled by the guru.

From Transcendental Diary by Hari-sauri Prabhu

December 22 1976 - Poona

The Malhotras are the owners of Weikfield Products food company, which was established twenty years ago. They have a very large modern house, Malhotra Bhavan, situated on several acres of well kept land at 116 Koregaon Park, which, unusual for India, even has a moderately sized swimming pool. At the house Srila Prabhupada was introduced to the wives of all three brothers, and some of their children. As I busied myself retrieving Srila Prabhupada's silver plate and bowls for breakfast from our bags in the car, Haridäsa escorted His Divine Grace into the house. A few minutes later he came out grinning and told me of an unusual story Srila Prabhupada had narrated to our hosts. The ladies had naturally inquired from Srila Prabhupada what would he like to eat, and his initial response was to say "anything." He declared he would be satisfied with whatever they wanted to offer. But then he added, as a precaution, that there

Radha Kund is the bathing place of Radharani and Her most elevated assistants, the gopis or cowherd girls. Radha Kund is located on the northern end of Govardhan Hill in the area of Greater Vrajamandala, not far from Vrindavana or Mathura. Sri Rupa Gosvami explains in verses 9 and 10 of his Sri Upadesamrita that out of all the places in Vraja, Radha Kund is superior to them all because it is flooded with the ambrosial nectar of Krishna prema, ecstatic love of God. Therefore, those who live here are the most fortunate in the universe. The Padma Purana also explains that just as Radharani is most dear to Krishna, Her bathing place of Radha Kund is also dear to Him.

Across from Radha Kund is Shyama Kund, Krishna’s bathing place. Krishna dug Shyama Kund when Radharani insisted that He purify Himself by bathing in all the holy rivers after He had killed the Aristasura demon who was in the form of a bull. So rather than going to all the sacred rivers, He simply dug His heel into the

“Jesus Christ – He is preaching God consciousness, so he is our guru, our spiritual master”

2010 March 10
by staffmember

Srila Prabhupadas Quotes on Lord Jesus Christ:

He is our guru. He is preaching God consciousness, so he is our spiritual master. Therefore we adore Lord Jesus Christ and offer our obeisances to him.

“Jesus Christ is accepted as the son of God. He presented himself as the son of God. And here Krishna says that ‘I am the Father.’” – Chaitanya Charitamrita lecture, 1968

“…is no difference between God and His servant. Yes. That we say…Because a devotee, like Lord Jesus Christ, means confidential servant of God, there is no difference…”
“Yes. A real Vaishnava, a real devotee, is even more merciful than Krishna. Take Lord Jesus Christ, for example. It is said that Lord Jesus took everyone’s sins upon himself, yet…”
- Room conversation, London July 12, 1973

“Just like Lord Jesus Chr
