Krishnadasa Kaviraja Goswami

Krishnadasa Kaviraja Goswami.

Appearing near Katva, Krishna Dasa Kaviraja left for Vrindavana after Lord Nityananda told him in a dream: are are krishnadasa, na karaha bhaya, Vrindavana yaha tanha, sarva larya haya, "0 my dear Krishnadasa, do not be afraid. Go to Vrindavana. For there you will attain all things." (Chaitanya-charitamrta Adi 5.195)

Krishna Dasa took diksha from Raghunatha Dasa Goswami. He lived a renounced life at Syama-kunda near Manasa Pavana Ghat, Radharani's midday bathing place.

Shri Jiva Goswami, as per his custom of giving titles of honor to qualified Devotees, gave Krishna Dasa the title Kaviraja (the king of poets) for his poetic masterpiece Govinda-lilamrta. Shri Narottam a Dasa Thakura wrote in Prarthana: "Krishna Dasa Kaviraja, who composed the Shri Chaitanya-charitamrta, is the connoisseur among Devotees. His Govinda-lilamrta moves stones to tears, but alas, my mind is not attracted to it."

During Krishna Dasa's time, all the Vaishnavas woul

If we observe the real situation of the world around us, we can gain insight into what is the best direction for people to go; science or spiritual knowledge. A system of thought that correlates or explains more of what we can observe around us would, by Occam’s razor alone, have to be taken as more correct or true. And we also take it as a given that by following our own essential natures and thus a system of thought most akin to that nature, we will be most satisfied and happy.

At a basic physical level, gravity and the other forces of nature have no meaning except in realationship to things other than themselves. The law of Gravity, for example, must have an object, such as a planet, upon which to act. So the basic laws have their existence only in relation to there being an “other” to interact with.

Even at a molecular level, we observe that molecules have a built-in capacity to interact with each other systematically, such as covalen

Story THREE

Testimonials – By Bhagavat das

My Dear Godbrothers and Godsisters:

Please accept my most humble obeisances! All Glories to Srila Prabhupada!

I am very glad that we as disciples of Srila Prabhupada are finally doing something about this great offense to our Spiritual Master. I would like to tell three stories that are personal experiences of mine with Srila Prabhupada and his books. It is my earnest hope that these stories will once and for all lay to rest the controversy of anyone ever editing Srila Prabhupadas books.

Now to Let us see how a purely devoted disciple of His Divine Grace approached the translating and editing process.

After Srila Prabhupada’s departure there is a little known pastime, that will not remain so after this letter goes on your website, where Srila Gour Govinda Maharaj helped to reveal the unrivalled perfection of Srila Prabhupada’s masterful translation of Bhagavad Gita. Srila Gour Govinda Maharaj was given the service by Srila Prabhupada of tran

Ramacandra Vijayotsava

KA2_059.jpg

On the tenth day of the waxing moon of Padmanabha (Asvina) month, occurs Vijayotsava. On this day Lord Ramacandra heard from Hanuman beneath the sami tree that he had found and seen Sita on the Island kingdom of Lanka. Hearing this, Ramacandra held a festival, and then set out for Sri Lanka. On this day one may perform special puja of Lord Ramacandra and then in His honour feed the Vaisnavas. This is a popular festival in north India, where, on this occasion, large paper effigies of the demon Ravana are burned to the resounding chants of Victory to Rama, Victory to Rama.

In the pastimes of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu he absorbed Himself in the transcendental lila of Lord Ramacandra in the following manner as recorded by Srila Krishna dasa Kaviraj Goswami.

Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita Madhya-lila Chapter 15 Texts 31-35.

Madhya 15.31
parama-avese prabhu aila nija-ghara

Srila Madhvacarya - Appearance

aanadateertharu.jpg

For twelve years Madhyageha Bhatta would regularly travel the eight miles north from his village of Belle to Udupi. There at the Anantesvara temple he would pray for a son.

One day a devotee in a trance like state climbed the temple flagpole and announced that to reestablish the purest principles of religion, a male child, an incarnation of Vayu, the demigod in charge of air, would soon be born. Madhyageha understood within his heart that this would be his own child. Soon his wife, Vedavati, gave birth to a son. The happy couple named him Vasudeva.

From infancy Vasudeva showed extraordinary intellect, so much so that he was given brahminical initiation at age five, three years early. Whatever he heard or read, even just once, he could remember. His body was unusually strong, lustrous, and beautiful.

At age eleven, Vasudeva left home for Udupi, to live with Acyutapreksa, an ascetic widely respected for his scholarship and saintly character.

After one year, despite strong protests from his

Story TWO
Once in Bombay Srila Prabhupada ordered me to come to his room and listen to him preach to some life members. I sat there and listened for almost an hour. After they left he started to chastise me. Why are you not coming here everyday to listen to me preach. You are one of my leaders if you do not learn how to preach from me then what will happen?

Then he quoted a verse in Sanskrit from Bhagavad Gita and asked me if I knew this verse in English, where it was in the Gita, and what the mean

Commentary on Mantra 6 of Sri Isopanisad

9468769271?profile=originalAll glories to the assembled devotees. Please accept my humble obeisance as I ask for you indulgence in reading and replying to this rather lengthy commentary on mantra 6 of Sri Isopanisad:

This wonderful passage demonstrates the moral position which stems from Krishna Consciousness. When one comes to the realization of the previous teachings, one will recognize that a relationship exists between the Lord and everything and everyone else. Each human, animal, plant, rock, or atom is part and parcel of the Supreme Lord. Everything exists to serve Lord Sri Krishna, and Lord Sri Krishna is within everything. Once that realization is actualized, then one may come to the ethical stance that nothing or no one should ever be hated or despised, because to hate or will ill to another is to direct that venom at the Lord. On the other hand, to see oneself as the servant and to look upon all things and everyone with love and devotional service in mind is to direct the love which is the base of one'

"Certainly association with devotees is essential. However, we attain association according to our qualification. It is not a fact that simply by living together we can take advantage of good association and it is true that we can associate with devotees even when we live a distance from them. Association does not necessarily mean living in the same room. However, living with devotees makes it easier to hear from them, whereas hearing is more difficult over a distance."

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura.

"Regarding your 2 questions: For offering prasadam simply prayers to the Spiritual Master is sufficient. The process is that everything is offered to the Spiritual Master, and the Spiritual Master is supposed to offer the same foodstuff to the Lord. When a thing is offered to the Spiritual Master, he immediately offers to the Lord. That is the system, and as we come by parampara system, it is our duty to go through the right channel—namely, first the Spiritual Master, then Lord Caitanya, and then Krishna. So when we chant prayers, we do this, Bande ham Sri Guru . . . and gradually to the Goswamis, then to Lord Caitanya, and then to Radha Krishna. That is the praying system. But offering the prasadam to present everything before the Spiritual Master whose picture is also in the altar, means that the Spiritual Master will take care of offering the foodstuff to the Lord. Therefore simply by chanting the prayer to the Spiritual Master, everything will be complete." Srila Prabhupada's Letter to: Harer Nama -- Allston, Mass 28 May, 1968

Comment on Mantra 5 of Sri Isopanisad

9468778671?profile=originalComment on Mantra 5 of Sri Ispoanisad:

In this mantra, we see what appears to the human mind as a series of contradictions. From the standpoint of logic, one can either walk or not walk. One can either be near or far. It would be a contradiction to claim both statements as true at the same time. The principle of bivalence dictates that a statement is either true or false. Therefore, if the statement "He is walking" is true, then the statement "He is not walking" must be false. However, it is important to remember that traditional categorical or sentential logic is relevant only to the material world. When one is concerned with the Divine, a higher logic, a higher Truth, must be embraced.

This passage is used to describe the transcendental nature and activities of the Supreme Lord. It is interesting to note that many religious traditions have used this approach to helping devotees of their faith to understand the nature of God. The Taoist text Tao Te Ching begins with similar contradictio

Srila Bhaktivinode Thakur describes the swans and the asses;

" The different forms of these spiritual activities create divisions of sectarianism. Differences that arise from places, times, languages, behaviors, foods, dresses, and natures of various communities are incorporated within people's spiritual practices and gradually make one community so completely different from another community that even the consideration that everyone is a human being may cease to exist.

Due to these differences there is disagreement, cessation of social intercourse, and fighting, even up to the point of killing one another. When an asslike mentality becomes prominent within the neophyte kanistha-adhikaris, they certainly indulge in these things. But if they develop a swanlike mentality, then they do not take part in quarrels; rather, they endeavor to attain a higher level. "

"Otherwise, if they had a swanlike mentality and a desire to attain a higher level, they would respect others' practices and inq

Hare Krishna! Here are a few initial thoughts:

Srila Prabhupada's philosophy is grounded in thousands of years of history and practice. His teaching comes from the original source, Lord Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. It is revealed to all of humanity through the Bhagavad-Gita as a combination of Samkya philosophy and Bhakti-yoga. This being said, since these teachings come from the original source, they surpass all philosophy and religion, hence their transcendence.

The key to Prabhupada's mission is to bring Krishna Consciouness to everyone. It is not necessary to live in a temple or dress a certain way. George Harrison, for example, was very spiritual, but dressed as a plain-clothes Krishna. In addition, he used his talents to spread Krishna Consciousness to many people around the world. This is an example of true meaning behind the Varnasrama system. Each person has different talents and skills, but regardless of what they are, they can be used to serve Krishna.

"The conclusion is that a spiritual master who is authorized and
empowered by Krishna and his own guru should be considered as good as
the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself. That is the verdict of
Visvanatha Cakravarti: saksad-dharitvenasa. [...] As Hari is free to
act as He likes, the empowered spiritual master is also free. As Hari
is not subject to mundane rules and regulations, the spiritual master
empowered by Him is also not subject." (Sri Caitanya-caritamrta,
Madhya-lila 10.136, purport)

whey did the CIA/NWO use dupes to poison Srila Prabhupada? the answer is here;

"Satsvarupa Gosvami: The opposition is claiming that joining Krishna consciousness is not an exercise of freedom of religion, but that we are guilty of “mind control.”

Srila Prabhupada: Him whose mind is already in Krishna consciousness the “deprogrammers” want to control by force. They are guilty of mind control, not we. They kidnap him and force him to think like them.

Satsvarupa Gosvami: Many times our opposition consists of businessmen and parents of devotees. They are very al

What is the Local (spi) Doctrine ?

9468779686?profile=original

Tdasa -1  Lol ! Here at spi, we consider ourselves simply the modern followers of HDG A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad, as he taught and set the perfect examples. There is no such thing as "ritvik philosophy", per se,  as we are simply following Prabhupada's philosophy.

Srila Prabhupada ;

" From now on unless I order you do something change or in addition, go on with the usual standard way. "

"Kṛṣṇa consciousness does not mean one-sided. Kṛṣṇa as all-pervading, the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement also should be all-pervading. It should touch everything, even politics, sociology, everything, if required. That is the aim. Because Kṛṣṇa’s mission is: yadā yadā hi dharmasya glānir bhavati bhārata [Bg. 4.7], paritrāṇāya sādhūnāṁ vināśāya ca duṣkṛtām [Bg. 4.8]."

"Make your own field... and continue to be Ritvik... and act on my behalf." - Śrīla Prabhupāda: July 31, 1977.

"Certainly association with devotees is essential. However, we attain association according to our qualification. It

Anyone have any opinion,  and/or good quotes expressing Srila Prabhupada's wishes in this regards ?
