Our site member and friend Dr. Arnold Smith has accepted Srila Prabhupada officially as his teacher in a formal capacity, and has asked for recommendation for diksha, that readily approved by the onsite TP's and admin. sanga. Jaya, Haribol! ~(>,' )

The good doctor is author of a University text on Moral development, teaches classes in Vedic literature, and is currently managing a course here on Bhagavada Gita As It Is. His scholastic acumen is a feather-in-the-cap for Iskcon, so nicely representing Srila Prabhupada's path of pure bhakti to Sri Sri Radha Krsna, in service of Sri Sri Gour Nitai! We the site members are fortunate to have such nice association.

Dr. Smith has also been granted the Bhakti Sastri degree, as may other senior devotees who inquire. Brahminical gayatri etc will be given also, in order to enhance our Godbrothers' preaching power.

Arnold Smith Prabhu will be given a spiritual Name shortly. Site Vaisnava devotees are invited to accept him as one of our family m

BY THE MERCY OF A VAISNAVA ONE CAN PRAY

Srila Gour Govinda Swami Srila GurudevaSrila Narottama Dasa Thakura has said, "I am such fellow. I am not completely pure. I am most impure. Therefore I face so many impediments, so many obstacles in my bhajana. Please, this is my great fear, I cannot chant. I cannot do bhajan, but You are so merciful, I take shelter of Your lotus feet now. No other shelter is there. Please eradicate all these problems, impediments, obstacles from my path of bhajan. Then I can chant the Holy Name and become happy, joyful and blissful."

Srila Narottama Dasa Thakura is praying for us. Feeling one with us, He prays. You cannot understand this thing. You are such a fool. Their heart bleeds for us. Such sadhus, mahajanas, Their hearts beat for us seeing our suffering. So They pray for us. Yes. This is prayer you have to offer. So by Their mercy we will be able to achieve that success. Only by sadhus mercy, vaisnavas mercy,guru-krpa that success will be possible. Without their mercy how can you offer such a

Sri Govinda Ghosh Disappearance

govinda-gosh-gopinath.jpg

Sri Govinda Ghosh, an intimate associate of Lord Caitanya, was known for his sweet kirtans at the annual Jagannatha Puri Ratha- yatra festival. Lord Caitanya would at once begin to dance whenever Govinda Ghosh would sing. Govinda Ghosh and his brothers Vasudeva and Madhava are eternal associates of Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityananda Prabhu.

He made his home in Agradvipa, Vasudeva in Tamluk, and Madhava Ghosh in Dain Hat. Govinda Ghosh Thakur’s house is not far from Agradvipa in Kashipura Vishnutala. Some are of the opinion that Vaishnavatala was his birthplace. Govinda Ghosh participated in Mahaprabhu’s lilas in Srivasa Angan, in the nagara-sankirtan to the Kazi’s house, and in the house of Raghava Pandit. During the Rathayatra festival, he was the lead singer in the fourth kirtan group, accompanied by his two brothers, Chota Hari Das, Vishnu Das and Raghava Pandit. Vakresvara Pandit joined this group as the principal dancer.

On Mahaprabhu’s direction, Govinda revealed the Gopinath deit

Srila Prabhupada...."The Hare Kṛṣṇa movement is also an incarnation of Kṛṣṇa in the form of the holy name (nāma-rūpe). Every one of us who is actually afraid of the asuric rulers and politicians must welcome this incarnation of Kṛṣṇa: Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. Then we will surely be protected from the harassment of asuric rulers. At the present moment these rulers are so powerful that by hook or by crook they capture the highest posts in government and harass countless numbers of people on the plea of national security or some emergency. Then again, one asura defeats another asura, but the public continues to suffer. Therefore the entire world is in a precarious condition, and the only hope is this Hare Kṛṣṇa movement. Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva appeared when Prahlāda was excessively harassed by his asuric father. Because of such asuric fathers—that is, the ruling politicians—it is very difficult to press forward the Hare Kṛṣṇa m

"I shall now summarily explain the meaning of these words. In this Pancha-tattwa, the bhakta-rupa (form of a Devotee) is Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who formerly appeared as Shri Krishna, the son of Nanda Maharaj. The bhakta-swarupa (devotional incarnation) is Lord Nityananda, who formerly appeared in Vrajabhumi as Lord Balarama. The bhaktaavatara (devotional manifestation) is Lord Advaita Acharya, who is not different from Sadaashiva. The bhataakhya (pure Devotee) is Shrinivasa and other great Devotees as well. The bhakta-shakti (devotional energy) is Gadadhara Pandita, the foremost of brahmanas." (Gaura Ganodesh Dipika 11.)

Srila Prabhupada said; "You can know this world is now managed by the rākṣasas'. Rākṣasa. They don't mind what is happening. They are prepared to sacrifice everything for fulfilling their whimsical nonsense. They are called rākṣasa. Rākṣasīm āsurīṁ caiva prakṛtiṁ mohinīṁ śritāḥ. Why they are? Now, they are very much enamored by this material beauty. Not beauty. The material civilization. So they cannot. They cannot understand. It is very difficult for them. They cannot understand. And they'll never try to understand because they are rākṣasas.'' - Bhagavad-gītā Lecture, 9.11-14, New York, November 27, 1966

'Srila Prabhupada : Now, Canakya Pandita gives three things, formula, "If you want to be fortunate, then do these three things." What is that? Murkha yatra na pujyante: "Do not give any credit to the rascal." That is first qualification. Don't be carried away by the rascal. Murkha yatra na pujyante. If you worship a rascal, then your life is spoiled. You must worship a really learned representative of God. That is very good. (Srimad-Bhagavatam 6.1.31 San Francisco, July 16, 1975) ALL GLORIES TO SRILA PRABHUPADA........JAYA JAYA.............'

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada on Diksa.

9468744500?profile=original

On the morning of Wednesday, August 8th 1934, Sriyukta Rajendranath Pal Chaudhuri Mahasaya, the famous zamindar of Louhajang, came to Sri Gaudiya Matha accompanied by one of his employees. Offering his humble dandavats at the lotus feet of Sri Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami Prabhupada, he expressed his desire to hear some words on Sri Guru-tattva and the secret of diksa etc. Srila Prabhupada obligingly gave a valuable discourse for two hours. Some brief excerpts from that talk are presented below.

Rajen Babu: Isn't the kanistha-adhikari qualified to give initiation into the mantra?

Srila Sarasvati Prabhupada:  Where is the kanishtha-adhikari coming from? Who gave him the adhikara? A kanishtha-adhikari can never become a guru.

Rajen Babu: Can a madhyama-adhikari give diksa?

Prabhupada: He can only perform the initial duties of diksa. It is the uttama-adhikari maha-bhagavata Vaisnava who is actually the diksa-guru. There are two types of Vaisnavas – the ragatmika and the raganuga. T

'The appreciation of His Divine Grace if one simply follows His instructions. <3 I am very pleased that you have gone to that place simply on my order, alone, to preach the message of Lord Caitanya. I like this kind of spirit in you very much. You know I went to your country also alone, in old age, because of the order given to me by my spiritual master. So I get great pleasure when I see my own disciples from America going to far off places leaving their rich nation with all facilities and their families, to preach. The secret of success in spiritual life is to satisfy one's spiritual master. This is the essence. You have captured this. So now go on in this way and do not falter. Follow the regulative principles and devotional practices I have given you. This will keep you fit. Be patient and determined, and ask everyone you meet to please chant Hare Krsna. “One should chant the holy name of the Lord in a humble state of mind, thinking oneself lower than the straw in the street; one should be more tolerant than a tree, devoid of all sense of false prestige and ready to offer all respect to others. In such a state of mind one can chant the holy name of the Lord constantly”.

Sri Rama said: Listen, O sage: I tell you with all the emphasis at my command that I always take care of those who worship Me with undivided faith, even as a mother tends her child. If an infant child runs to catch hold of fire or a snake, the mother rescues it by drawing it aside, When, however, her son has grown up she loves him no doubt, but not as before. The wise are like My grown up sons, while humble devotees are like My infant children. A devotee depends on Me, while the former (a wise man) depends on his own strength; and both have to face enemies like lust and anger. Pondering thus the prudent adore Me and never take leave of devotion even after attaining wisdom.
