Srila Prabhupada expains the glories of Sri Mahesa Pandita

It is said that Gaurīdāsa Paṇḍita was always patronized by King Kṛṣṇadāsa, the son of Harihoḍa. Gaurīdāsa Paṇḍita lived in the village of Śāligrāma, which is situated a few miles from the railway station Muḍāgāchā, and later he came to reside in Ambikā-kālanā. It is stated in the Gaura-gaṇoddeśa-dīpikā, verse 128, that formerly he was Subala, one of the cowherd boyfriends of Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma in Vṛndāvana. Gaurīdāsa Paṇḍita was the younger brother of Sūryadāsa Sarakhela, and with the permission of his elder brother he shifted his residence to the bank of the Ganges, living there in the town known as Ambikā-kālanā.

Some of the names of the descendants of Gaurīdāsa Paṇḍita ar

Words of Wisdom from Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura

BY: SHYAMASUNDARA DASA

Dec 27, 2013 — INDIA (SUN) —

  1. We are put to test and trial in this world. Only those who attend the kirtana of the devotees can succeed.

  2. Every spot on earth where discourses on God are held is a place of pilgrimage.

  3. Possession of objects not related to Krsna is our main malady.

  4. Let me not desire anything but the highest good for my worst enemies.

  5. As dalliance with the body in luxury increases, so wanes the spirit of service of the Lord.

  6. Those favored by God find their paths set by thorns.

  7. There is no peace or happiness in our worldly life. Circumstances create turmoil and annoyance.

  8. Chant the maha mantra loudly and with attachment. This will drive away inertia, worldly evils and pests.

  9. Be indifferent to bazaar gossips, stick firmly to your cherished goals, no lack or impediments of the world will ever stand in your way.

  10. Pay due respects to the extroverts of the world, but do not be appreciativ

"After me there won't be another Acarya."

Padmagarbha Prabhu, ACBSSP, said ; "Gopta, the leaders of iskcon, the gbc, the sanyasis, and most of all, the "gurus", they have rejected outright a multitude of Srila Prabhupada's orders: "The order NOT to change his books; the order to sign the 'Oath of Allegience'; the order not to associate with his God brothers; the order to implement the "DOM"; the order to create self-sufficient farming communities; and most of all the order to continue the "ritvik initiation" process "Henceforth".

Outright rejection of, and even contradicting the orders, the very teachings of ones spiritual master I belief to the ultimate act of "being critical", of "finding fault" with the Acarya. And the following is what Srila Bhaktisiddhanta says of those who engage in such behavior:

"I do not want to see the faces of vile persons who criticize my Gurudeva, or who support those who criticize him. They are the cause of all inauspiciousness."

"May I never see the

Word on Initiations;

Photo: Word on Initiations; <br /

"The conclusion is that a spiritual master who is authorized and empowered by Krishna and his own guru should be considered as good as
the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself. That is the verdict of
Visvanatha Cakravarti: saksad-dharitvenasa. [...] As Hari is free to
act as He likes, the empowered spiritual master is also free. As Hari
is not subject to mundane rules and regulations, the spiritual master
empowered by Him is also not subject." (Sri Caitanya-caritamrta,
Madhya-lila 10.136, purport)

"Unless one takes shelter of a bonafide, fully Krsna conscious spiritual master,
there is no chance of understanding Krsna... ....Only one who has surrendered to a pure devotee of Krsna can understand Krsna." [SB 7-5-32]

"Unless one is initiated by a bonafide spiritual master, ALL his devotional activities are USELESS.
A person who is not properly initiated can again descent into the animal specie." [Madhya Lila 15 .

"One should take initiation from a bonafide spiritual master coming

Padmagarbha Prabhu, ACBSP, speaks up;

  • Padmagarbha Das Gopta, thank you for your kind and 'sentimental' letter. I too am quite 'sentimental', I even often tear up in sentimental movies. Only when it comes to the philosophy of Krsna consciousness, and specifically the words and teachings of Srila Prabhupada, as well as loyalty to Srila Prabhupada, I fanatically try to avoid sentimentality! You feeling 'unworthy' and unqualified in weighing-in on the matter of Patita, Bhakta dasa and others rejecting SP's orders due to you not practicing strictly, is a reflection of your feelings of guilt as well as your humility. However, there is an ocean of difference between weakness and cheating, as stated perfectly by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Maharaja: "Cheating and weakness are two separate things. Persons devoid of a cheating propensity achieve perfection in life, but a cheater is never successful. Vaisnavism is another name for simplicity. Cheaters are non-devotees. Sincere persons can be weak, but they are not cheaters. Cheaters say

Ritvik, Yes! -Srila Prabhupada

Padmagarbha Das

"One should not become a spiritual master unless he has attained the platform of uttama-adhikari [the highest stage of spiritual realization] " (The Nectar of Instruction, text 5,
purport)

"There is no possibility that a first-class devotee will fall down,
even though he may mix with non-devotees to preach. Conviction and
faith gradually increase to make one an uttama-adhikari, a first-class
devotee." (Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, Madhya-lila 22.71, purport]

"When one has attained the topmost position of maha-bhagavata, he is
to be accepted as a guru and worshipped exactly like Hari, the
Personality of Godhead. ONLY such a person is eligible to occupy the
post of a guru." (Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, Madhya-lila 24.330,
purport)

"It is to be understood that the conditioned soul is tightly tied by
the ropes of illusion. [...] Because the bound cannot help the bound,
the rescuer must be liberated. Therefore, only Lord Krishna, or His
bona fide representative the spiritual maste

Ha!

  1. "The government's business is to control these things, and citizens must be happy in every way. Even Maharaja Yudhisthira's time, there was no excessive heat or cold; neither there was prominence of disease or pestilence, famine. These things were absent. Because Yudhisthira Maharaja himself was very pious, and he conducted his government in such a way that people were also pious. Yad yad acarati sresthah lokas tad anuvartate. If the leaders are perfect, then the citizens will be perfect. If the leaders are rascals... Just like in your country, now your president is caught up. Just see. Such an exalted post is occupied by a person who is subjected to so many criticisms. Why? "The Caesar's wife must be above suspicion." There is a... The king or the president, why he should be under suspicion? And if he is under suspicion, then immediately he should resign, "Oh, people are now suspecting." But this these rascals will not resign. You see? Just see how much our l

Srila Prabhupada on Christ

Srila Prabhupada was giving darshan in his new quarters in Juhu beach when one Indian gentleman began to deride Christianity and even Christ himself. Srila Prabhupada immediately stopped him saying, "Please don't talk like that; Christ is my Godbrother. I love Christ as much as I love Krishna!" Srila Prabhupada said that Christ was a pure devotee who was preaching according to the time and circumstances. I was fortunate enough to become one of Srila Prabhupada's personal servant's in April of 1977 and got to hear from him daily for four months. Those were the best days of my life so far.

Srila Prabhupada always preached in a non-sectarian way and showed his love of God by his magnanimous works. Srila Prabhupada always talked about the real meaning of the Holidays and he especially liked Christmas time because so many more books are distributed every year during the Christmas marathon. This gives Srila Prabhupada and

"Interviewer: Do you think that some day the Krishna consciousness movement will spread to all the people in the world?
Prabhupäda: That is not possible. It is more for the most intelligent class of men. So it, this movement, is for the most intelligent class of men.
Interviewer: But amongst the most intelligent classes.
Prabhupäda: Unless one is intelligent class, belonging to the in..., he cannot understand. So we don't expect that everyone is intelligent. Krishna ye bhaja se baòa catura. Unless one is very intelligent, he cannot become Krishna conscious, because it is a different subject matter. People are engrossed with the bodily concept of life. It is beyond that. So dull brain cannot understand what is beyond this body. So you cannot expect that everyone will understand Krishna consciousness. That is not possible." New York July 14, 1976

The chanting of Hare Krsna is our main business; that is real initiation. And as you are all following my instruction in the matter the initiator is already there. Now the next initiation will be performed as a ceremony officially, of course that ceremony has value because the Name, holy name, will be delivered to the student from the disciplic succession, it has got value, but in spite of that, as you are going on chanting, please go on with this business sincerely and Krsna willing, I may be coming to you very soon. I have already written to Jayananda about this, so don't he impatient. Pray to Krsna that I may meet you very soon." (SPL to Tamala Krsna, 19th August, 1968)

"But Srila Prabhupada, they are saying that if we aren’t in ISKCON, we lose your blessings and cannot make advancement.” Prabhupada replied, “ISKCON is where you are chanting the holy name– that is ISKCON.” We rejoined: ”They are saying we don’t have any association here and are therefore in maya.” He replied: “Association can be two or two hundred. If you are two and compatible you can become perfect in Krishna consciousness. If you are 200 and are not, then no one will make advancement.”

"...The spiritual master is acting in the position of Krishna because he is the most confidential servant of Krishna. Your next question, after leaving this material realm does the devotee remain forever with his spiritual master? The answer is yes.

But I think you have got the mistaken idea in this connection. You speak of pure devotee, that he is saktyavesa avatara, that we should obey him only—these things are the wrong idea.
If anyone thinks like that, that a pure devotee should be obeyed and no one else, that means he is a nonsense.

We advise everyone to address one another as Prabhu. Prabhu means master, so how the master should be disobeyed?

Others, they are also pure devotees. All of my disciples are pure devotees.

Anyone sincerely serving the spiritual master is a pure devotee, it may be Siddhasvarupa or others, a-Siddhasvarupa. This must be very clearly stated.

It is not only that your Siddhasvarupa is a pure devotee and not others. Do not try to make a faction. Siddhasvarupa

Thākura Bhaktivinoda - Part I

by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda

(Portrait of Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda)

We avail of the opportunity offered by the anniversary celebrations of the advent of Ṭhākura Bhaktivinoda to reflect on the right method of obtaining those benefits that have been made accessible to humanity by the grace of this great devotee of Kṛṣṇa. Ṭhākura Bhaktivinoda has been specifically kind to those unfortunate persons who are engrossed in mental speculation of all kinds. This is the prevalent malady of the present age. The other ācāryas who appeared before Ṭhākura Bhaktivinoda did not address their discourses so directly to the empiric thinkers. They had been more merciful to those who are naturally disposed to listen to discourses on the Absolute without being dissuaded by the specious arguments of avowed opponents of Godhead.

Śrīla Ṭhākura Bhaktivinoda has taken the trouble of meeting the perverse arguments of mental speculationists by the superior transcendental logic of the Absolute Tru

Śrī Śrī Guru Gaurāṅgau Jayataḥ

Lissmore Cottage
Limekhera Shilam
17 October, 1928

Dear recipient of my affection,

I have received many letters and telegrams from you. Today I sent you a telegram asking you to send aid to Kurukṣetra. During the solar eclipse, a festival will be held at Śrī Vyāsa Gauḍīya Maṭha in Kurukṣetra, so the followers of the path of  bhakti will also have many duties to perform there. To protect the personal associates of Bhagavān, who are our  āśraya-jātīya-sevya-vigraha (our worshipful deities who are the abode of love of God)* from the pangs of separation they have been suffering for many, many days and to bring them face to face with Kṛṣṇa, we must take them to Kurukṣetra. Therefore, it is our topmost  dharma to render service to the Vrajavāsīs, who have been experiencing extrem

BANK ACCOUNT IS NOT FOR SANNYASI

BANK ACCOUNT IS NOT FOR SANNYASI

Any householder requires some deposit in the bank for emergency. That is, of
course, allowed for householders. But we are sannyasi; we are renounced
order. We haven't got to accumulate any money. That is the system of Indian
philosophy. But those who are householder, family men, they may have some
deposit for emergency. Otherwise, those who are renounced order, those who
are brahmacari, for them to keep money separately for his maintenance or for
accumulating bank balance is not allowed.

Editor; Positive Thinking

+ Positive Thinking; Positive thinking means to understand one's position as servant of the servants of the varga, and then to do the right services as desired by the spiritual master. Srila Prabhupada came to deliver us all, and to change the whole world. Srila Prabhupada told us success means the high court judges are wearing tilak, and to become involved in all the world arenas, such as politics and sociology etc. Thus, if fighting is necessary to eliminate evil ones occupying the positions of power , then so be it. This is positive. It preserves the sankirtan movements. "In order to deliver the pious and annihilate the miscreants, I come to the world!", and "To those who are steady and have bhakti, I , the Supreme Lord, give the understanding/power that brings them quickly home to Me!" - paraphrase Sri Krishna, Bhagavada Gita As It Is.

- Negative Thinking; " It is all up to Krsna. That is our karma. Forgive and forget." All these are tainted by ignorance, that nothing can be don
