Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, the guru of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, appeared in Sri Ksetra Dhama.(Jagannatha Puri) on 6 February 1874 as the son of Srila Sacidananda Bhaktivinoda Thakura. In his childhood he quickly mastered the Vedas, memorized the Bhdgavad-gita, and relished his father's philosophical works. He became known as "The Living Encyclopedia" for his vast knowledge. He preached convincingly against casteism and philosophical deviations from Gaudiya Vaisnavism. He tried to unite the four Vaisnava sampradayas by publishing their teachings. Srila Sarasvati Thakura earned the title Nrisimha Guru for his fearless and powerful delivery of the Vaisnava siddhanta. Mayavadis would cross the street to avoid confronting the "lion guru." Besides being a courageous preacher, he was ornamented with all divine qualities and full of ecstatic love of God. He established 64 Gaudiya Math temples in India and centers in Burma,

pamho tamohara prabhu agtACBSP, !

thank you for this nice conversation between our guru maharaj and the devotee. i'm ok, until some sukrti are still there by the causeless mercy of SRILA PRABHUPADA who allow us to keep chanting hare krsna maha mantra all life long to make sure we don't come back to this dukhalayam asasvatam world full of suffering anymore as our beloved acharya remind us still through HIS sublime vani seva.

actually I'm aware about all this suffering at the moment that my mother is in hospital. anyway she is 90 years old and very religious too. used to be indian citizen her life before like me. i'm preaching to my mother including my sisters and brother I told them that we are all in the list like my mother waiting to leave the body. this already happens before but because we got the tendency to forget. we think this bad dream regarding death is true, may be we here the next life may be not. but the spiritual journey is keeping going.

Prabhupada: "What is religious fight?

Photo: Prabhupada: "What is religious fight? Religious fight means you have got right to kill your aggressor. If somebody takes your property, if somebody sets fire in your house, if somebody kidnaps your wife, or somebody is trying to kill you, they are called aggressor. So aggressor should be killed immediately. It is not that somebody has become an aggressor, and if I say, "Now I have become a Vaishnava, I'll not be violent. I shall tolerate. Caitanya Mahaprabhu has taught us to be tolerant like the tree or the grass. So I shall become tolerant. Let him do." Just like Gandhi used to say. Somebody questioned him that "If somebody comes and violates the chastity of your daughter in your presence, what will you do?" He said, "I shall remain nonviolent." But that is not shastric injunction. This is foolishness." <br /

The Life of Srimati Mangala Devi Dasi
December 9, 2013

by Suchandra Dasi
Sri Guru Gauranga Jayatah!
Srimati Mangala Devi Dasi, a disciple of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad and my dear mother, has left this world Dec. 6, 2013, amidst the auspicious harinam kirtan of many dear devotee friends and family.

She was born in 1955 to her beloved mother Claudine, in a Morman family. She has one elder brother and two younger sisters. She had a natural love for Jesus, and a natural dislike for eating meat. She became attracted to Krsna, when some devotees did harinam sankirtan, (congregation public chanting of the Lords Holy name, Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare) in a mall one day and cherished a small Prasadam, (food which is offered to God- Krsna,) bread ball that she split and relished with her friend.

So one day, she ran away from home at the age of 13 dedicating her life to Srila Prabhupad. She loved her spiritual master, His

Potency of Association with Sri Guru

Potency of Association with Sri Guru

Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda: “Anyone who is in the material world, he is not pure devotee. He has to become a pure devotee. But there are pure devotees. They come. They are not subjected to all this. They come for the deliverance of the fallen souls. They are above Lord Brahma, Lord Siva…” Conversations with Srila Prabhupada, pg. 327 (Morning Walk, May 11, 1975 Perth, Australia)

Srila Bhakti Prajnana Kesava Goswami: “Sri Guru and the Vaisnavas is the one and only means by which a jiva can attain the ultimate goal of life. Only by their mercy is it possible for him to obtain the merciful, sidelong glance of the most compassionate Sri Bhagavan.” (Rays of the Harmonist)

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur Prabhupada: “Only a person who has descended from the spiritual world can speak about that place. One who belongs to the phenomenal world cannot actually report on matters of the transcendental plane. However, upon receiving the fortune

"9468763694?profile=originalI CAME HERE TO TAKE THEIR SUFFERING", SAID PRABHUPADA

It was the beginning of 1977. Prabhupada was in Bombay temple. He was very sick. He had stopped all food intake – he was taking 1/4 a cup of orange juice per day. His body had only bones left – there was no flesh. And yet, he was insisting that he wanted to go to London. The doctors had given up responsibility. But as always, he was adamant

At this time, one Pancaratrika Pandit from Bangalore named Sampat Kumar Bhattacarya came to know about Srila Prabhupada’s situation. So, he took a flight from Bangalore to Bombay – which in those days was a huge thing for a Brahmin priest – and met Prabhupada, and asked for a private meeting. Generally, nobody was allowed a private meeting, but when he said that he specially came by flight from Bangalore to meet Srila Prabhupada, he was allowed a private meeting. So, everybody was asked to go out, and they talked.

The conversation was like this: Sampat Kumar: ‘Swamiji, I am feeling very pained

Advent of Srimad Bhagavad-gita

This is the annirversary day commemorating the day that Srimad Bhagavad Gita was spoken by Lord Sri Krishna to His dearmost devotee Arjuna at the place now known as Jyotisar Tirtha amid the waring families of the Kurus and the Pandavas at Kurukshetra. If one wishes one can still go and visit that place and see the monument erected there with Krishna as Parthasarati (the chariot driver) and Arjuna the warrior on their chariot. It is claimed by the ashram who maintain the shrine that the tree that is next to Them is a continum growth of the original tree witness that was there at the actual day of speaking.

Traditionally devotees come to Kurukshetra (Dharmakshetra) and recite Bhagavad Gita from early morning until the next morning, perform arati to Bhagavad Gita and to Krishna and Arjuna upon the chariot, offer lamps 'deep daan' at BrahmaSarovar, shloka recitals, shobha yatras and seminars on the significance of the Gita today.

Devotees who cannot get to Jyotisar Tirtha remember the blesse

In his Caitanya-śikṣāmṛta, Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākur describes the spiritual potency of Vaiṣṇavas at various levels of advancement, to help us understand what a guru at each level is capable of conveying to their disciples. Those aspiring for initiation (dīkṣā) should take serious note of these differences in order to make an informed and wise decision:

Concerning the bestowal of devotional energy by the mercy of the devotee, something should be mentioned. The power of the prema-bhakta is unlimited, and thus, the prema-bhakta, if he is merciful, can transfer his power to any type of person.

The merciful bhāva-bhakta can instill power in the sādhana-bhaktas so that they can assume a position similar to his own, and by the strength of his personality, the bhāva-bhakta can raise materialistic people who have gained some qualification due to previous deeds to the level of ruci.

Vaidhī and rāgānugā-sādhana-bhaktas can instill faith in materialistic people who have attained qualification by pre

Srila Narahari Sakara Thakura states in his Sri Krsna Bhajanamrta:

Verse 64
However, if the spiritual master:
-acts enviously towards 'isvarebrantah', that which is connected with the Supreme;
-is bewildered regarding the Supreme Personality of Godhead;
-is averse to expanding the fame of Lord Krsna;
-personally refuses to accept hearing or chanting about the glorious pastimes of Lord Sri Krsna; has become totally bewildered, listening to the false praise of ignorant persons and day by day is more materially contaminated and fallen then the spiritual master must be renounced.

Verse 65
Under those circumstances one should not doubt, "How can I give up my spiritual master?" With a strong desire for achieving spontaneous devotional service and attaining the lotus feet of Lord Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, a devotee accepts the shelter of a spiritual master, if that spiritual master takes on "asuric" qualities or a demoniac mentality then it is one's duty to reject such a de

His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada once remarked to his disciples, "You must become a general like me. I cannot be defeated."

Tdasa; HOW TO DEFEAT THE HIERARCHIES; By-pass them.

I once calculated it cost Banglore Temple roughly 8,700. dollars spent for every one who took initiation, whereas our online site costs about $57 per diksha/member. (Wishing them God's speed in dealing with recent events nicely.)

By using our poverty as a strength, we can open countless online Temples and associations, and by careful nurturing, many new disciples of Srila Prabhupada will come forward.

Authorization and encouragement from our spiritual master are here;

Śrīla Prabhupāda Says - [On leadership in his ISKCON society]

"...after you, who will take the leadership?" And "Everyone will take, all my disciples. If you want, you can take also. (laughter) But if you follow. They are prepared to sacrifice everything, so they'll take the leadership. I may, one, go away, but there wi

HH Jayapataka swami said that he was nowadays always trying to project Srila Prabhupada in the centre at every opportunity. He, in very clear terms, informed that he has made significant change in his mind on the permissibility of direct relationship that a new initiate can have with Srila Prabhupada and how he was fully supporting this fact currently. (Earlier in 1999 when the dispute began with Bangalore devotees, he denied that his disciples can have direct relationship with Srila Prabhupada). Most significantly he did apologize on that day for his previously held hard core Guru stand by not supporting direct connection with Srila Prabhupada for his disciples.

Of the sum total of creation, 3/4's is eternal, in harmony with Godhead, while 1/4 is under the spell of deluding powers, called maya. The self-realized soul is not bewildered by Maya's influences. This can be achieved by chanting Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare. Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. The material energy is endlessly mutable and a source of suffering. By becoming self-realized, we can become free from the influences of suffering.

FIRST INITIATION IS DIKSHA - SRILA PRABHUPADA OUR DIKSHA GURU My dear Satsvarupa Maharaja, Please accept my humble obeisances at your feet. I have been instructed by His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada to reply your letter dated July 25th, 1977. Srila Prabhupada explained the difference between first and second initiation as follows: “Why do you believe in rumors, that first initiation is not so important as second? I have already said that it is equally important, but you say rumor. Actually first initiation is more important. You can go without second initiation; if the first initiation is executed very thoroughly that is sufficient. First initiation stands strong. The spiritual master accepts the disciple’s sinful reactions upon giving first initiation. The Vedic system was to give the sacred thread at the first initiation. We are following Pancaratriki. Vedic initiation was given to a person born to a brahmana. That is not possible in this age. Therefore he has to be prepared by Ha

"The vice-chancellor of the Benares Hindu University, a very famous man of his time, named Madan Mohan Malaviya came to the Gaudiya Math and had some intricate, philosophical questions to present to Sarasvati Thakura. Sarasvati Thakura said, "I won't answer you, but you should ask the devotees who are washing the arati paraphernalia." The scholar then said, "No. I am asking very difficult questions on Vedanta: They won't be able to answer!" However, Sarasvati Thakura insisted that he go and ask those pujaris, who were cleaning the Deity paraphernalia at that particular time. So, being submissive to the will of Sarasvati Thakura, he went to ask them. When he approached them, they said, "Well now we're busy washing these plates, but please help us, and when we've finished then your question will be solved." Even though he was such a famous, respectable man, he agreed to join in and help do this humble service. After all the brass was cleaned, he returned to Sarasvati Thakura without sayi

nityo nityanam, cetanas cetananam, eko bahunam,  yo viddahati kaman

Among the eternals there is one originating Supreme Eternal. All things emanate from Him, Godhead. In Canada,  we're having much snow, blowing winds, deep winter today.

The snow is like a blanket, like an expression of the soothing agent of yogamaya. Godhead protects us and covers us over by dreams of beauty and love, and the snow here reflects a restricted yet similar degree of that quality of His. It gently coordinates all under its rubric of snow-related activities, blanketting the world, street and stream, evenly and without discrimination. Similarly, the spiritual sky is controlled by loving service under the coordinating creative efforts of Yoga Maya ie Smt. Paurnamasi, Tulsi Devi et al.

But like Maha maya, the snow also blurs vision, so that one can see just a few blocks, then past that, all is gray. The materially embodied soul similarly experiences time as blind, he sees only a limited scope of the world around

20. Bhagavad Gita 1.40

When irreligion is prominent in the family, O Krishna, the women of the family become polluted, and from the degradation of womanhood, O descendant of Vrishni, comes unwanted progeny.

Commentary by Srila Prabhupada

Good population in human society is the basic principle for peace, prosperity and spiritual progress in life. The varnashrama religion’s principles were so designed that the good population would prevail in society for the general spiritual progress of state and community. Such population depends on the chastity and faithfulness of its womanhood. As children are very prone to be misled, women are similarly very prone to degradation. Therefore, both children and women require protection by the elder members of the family. By being engaged in various religious practices, women will not be misled into adultery. According to Canakya Pandita, women are generally not very intelligent and therefore not trustworthy. So the differen
