From Bhakti Ananda Goswami: Sacred Basil / Tulasi was given to Jesus Christ on His Cross. It was dipped in HalaHala, the Sins of the Universe! When He had taken it, He said "It is Finished" and He 'became sin for us'. Then a Martial Roman Soldier pierced His Side with the Vel of Skanda (Mars) that destroys sin ! Jesus accepted the Vel just as Krishna had in a previous Lila. Siva (or Vishnu) Nila-Kantha did NOT swallow the Hala Hala, but Jesus DID, and thus He descended to the Dead.

Some Traditions say Sacred Basil / Tulasi sprang-up where Jesus Christ's Blood dropped on the ground. Other Traditions say that Sacred Basil sprang-up from Mary's Tears. Still others relate that Holy Basil grew directly out of Jesus Christ's Cross.

TULAsi's Name is from the same root as Mary's Name, Mother Most TOLERANT. She ALONE can forgive the Murder of Her Son, or a Priest! TULAsi ALONE can forgive the Murder of a Brahmin Priest!

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati

Sri Krsna manifest His eternal birth the pure cognitive essence of the serving soul who is located above all mundane limitations, King Kamsa is the typical aggressive empiricist, ever on the lookout for the appearance of the truth for the purpose of suppressing Him before He has time to develop. This is no exaggeration of the real connotation of the consistent empiric position. The materialist has a natural repugnance for the transcendent. He is disposed to link that faith in the incomprehensible is the parent of dogmatism and hypocrisy in the guise of religion. He is also equally under the delusion that there is no real dividing line between the material and the spiritual, he is strengthened in his delusion by the interpretation of scriptures by persons who are like-minded with himself. This includes all the lexicographic interpreters.

The lexicographical interpretation is upheld by Kamsa as the real scientific explanation of the scriptures, and is

EXPLANATION OF SRI KRSNA RASA DANCE

Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura points out that according to Bhagavad-gita, the Brahma day and Brahma night are periods of solar years expanding to 4,300,000 multiplied by 1,000. According to Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura, the rasa dance was performed during the long period of Brahma's night, but the gopis could not understand that. In order to fulfill their desire, Krsna extended the night to cover such a great period of time.

One may ask how this was possible, and Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura reminds us that Krsna, although bound by a small rope, could show His mother the whole universe within His mouth. How was this possible? The answer is that He can do anything for the pleasure of His devotees.

Similarly, because the gopis wanted to enjoy Krsna, they were given the opportunity to associate with Him for a long period. This was done according to His promise. When Krsna stole the garments of the gopis while they we

Mahāprabhu’s Prīti-Dharma Process

by TVP BOOKS

Śrī Gaurāṅga Mahāprabhu (painting by Anjana das)

Mahāprabhu's Prīti-Dharma Process

Excerpt from a lecture given by Śrī Śrīmad Gour Govinda Swami Mahārāja
on 6 Juli 1992, Bhubaneswar, India.

Thus we have ātma-dharma and mano-dharma. Mano-dharma is aprīti-dharma, dharma not based on love, aprīti, which is concocted, imaginative. Therefore mano-dharma is speculation. Ātma-dharma is based on prīti-dharma, love, and descends by the hearing process, śrauta-paramparya. Prīti-dharma is dharma based on love where Kṛṣṇa is prīti-viaya, the object of love, and all bhaktas, devotees are prīti-āśraya. This is viaya and āśraya. There is harmony between them; there is no question of disharmony. If you establish yourself in this prīti-dharma, then there will be no disharmony at all, only harmony. Some say that there is some aprīti in priti-dharma, but one should understand that there is some aprīti in those who say this. That is why they say that, b

"According to the Vedas, we are currently in the Kali-yuga, an age that will continue for hundreds of years. In this particular age, the most recommended spiritual intervention for countering mental disturbances such as depression and anxiety is chanting of the maha mantra. Fortunately, this mantra is not secret, as the Vedas widely broadcast the maha mantra. The Kali-santarana Upanisada states (Prabhupada, 1975):

hare krsna hare krsna krsna krsna hare hare hare rama hare rama rama rama hare

“Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. These sixteen names composed of thirty-two syllables comprise the only mantra that can completely eradicate the pernicious influences that afflict the mind in this Kali-yuga” (p. 274).

Similarly, the Brhad-naradiya Purana (Prabhupada, 1976) declares:

harer nama harer namaharer namaiva kevalamkalau nasty eva nasty evanasty eva gatir anyatha

“In the Kali-yuga, the mantra containing the name

In the writings of Bhaktivinoda Thakur we find:

"It is an utmost duty of every householder to honor his guests, help the POOR and fallen, and try to associate with saintly persons. Due to the lack of proper education and training nowadays people do not consider honoring guests and helping the poor as a duty."

Srila Prabhupada’s Srimad Bhagavatam purport (1.14.43): "It is the duty of a householder to feed first of all the children, the old members of the family, the brahmanas and the invalids. Besides that, an ideal householder is required to call for any unknown hungry man to come and dine before he himself goes to take his meals. He is required to call for such a hungry man thrice on the road. The neglect of this prescribed duty of a householder, especially in the matter of the old men and children, is unpardonable."

Srila Prabhupada wanted prasadam distributed widely in the villages of India through traveling parti

Sri Balarama Rasayatra

733956_569562873076657_576578210_n.jpg

"Lord Balarama could, of course, understand the ecstatic feelings of the gopis, and therefore He wanted to pacify them. He was expert in presenting an appeal, and thus, treating the gopis very respectfully, He began to narrate the stories of Krsna so tactfully that the gopis became satisfied. In order to keep the gopis in Vrndavana satisfied, Lord Balarama stayed there continually for two months, namely the months of Caitra (March-April) and Vaisakha (April-May). For those two months He kept Himself among the gopis, and He passed every night with them in the forest of Vrndavana in order to satisfy their desire for conjugal love. Thus Balarama also enjoyed the rasa dance with the gopis during those two months. Since the season was springtime, the breeze on the bank of the Yamuna was blowing very mildly, carrying the aroma of different flowers, especially of the flower known as kaumudi. Moonlight filled the sky and spread everywhere, and thus the banks of the Yamuna appeared to be very b

"The formula for ISKCON organization is very simple and can be understood by everyone. The world is divided into twelve zones. For each zone there is one zonal secretary appointed by Srila Prabhupada. The zonal secretaries duty is to see that the spiritual principles are being upheld very nicely in all the Temples of his zone. Otherwise each Temple shall be independent and self-supporting. Let every Temple President work according to his own capacity to improve the Krishna Consciousness of his center. So far the practical management is concerned, that is required, but not that we should become too much absorbed in fancy organization. Our business is spiritual life, so whatever organization needs to be done, the Presidents may handle and take advice and assistance from their GBC representative. In this way let the Societies work go on and everyone increase their service at their own creative rate."

Thursday, January 23, 1969

Los Angeles, Calif.

My Dear Sivananda,

Please accept my blessings. I am in due receipt of your letter dated January 14, 1969, and I have noted the contents.

I am pleased to note that you enjoy going out into the streets chanting and preaching from

Bhagavad-gita. This is a very good attitude and in accordance with the teachings of Lord Caitanya that the process of Sankirtana should be presented to men all over the world.

So as you are able you should continue to go into the streets to chant, and I am sure that the others at your temple will appreciate going with you as they are available. Surely this practice will attract many people there to take some interest in this Krishna Consciousness movement.

Regarding your request for cooking information, it is best if you will consult Yamuna Dasi in London. She is very expert cook, and will be able to answer any questions you have regarding prasadam preparations. I understand that Yamuna has written a recipe book

"Prabhupāda: When I was a child my father gave me one red gun, and then I was not more than eight years. Then, after getting one, I said, "I must have another one." Eh? Then father said, "Why another one? You have got already one." So I said, "No, I have got two hands. I must have two guns." Then my father, "No, you are not.... I am not going..." Then I made so much agitation, he was obliged to give me two guns. (laughter) I was very pet child of my father and very pet son-in-law also. And I am very pet guru also. (laughter) Hare Kṛṣṇa. Thank you. What is this?
Dr. Patel: This is Hanumān jayantī today.
Prabhupāda: Oh.
Puṣṭa Kṛṣṇa: Today is also the rāsa-yātrā of Balarāmajī.
Prabhupāda: Oh, rāsa-yātrā. Oh. So you have some festival?
Dr. Patel: Yes, they have got the festival in the Rāma-mandira.
Girirāja: We're having a bigger festival in our mandira.

Gazpacho for Gopal!

You may have cooked and eaten this extremely delicious, nutritious and refreshing soup already, or may not.

This is one of my favorite dishes for several reasons.

1. It is completely raw food

2. It is completely vegetarian, stuffed with proteins, vitamins and minerals

3. It is very easy to cook

4. It looks so beautiful and colorful!

Gazpacho is a Spanish word, but the idea of the dish originates from the ancient world. Arabs, Romans and nations in the Mediterranean area made this soup thousands years ago.

So, pour one to one and a haf a liter of natural tomato juice in a large bowl, chop and add

1 cucumber

3 tomatoes

2 bell peppers (capsicum)

1 medium onion

small bunch of green onions

a few cloves of garlic

some coriander or parsley

one tablespoonful of ground black pepper

1-2 teaspoonful of salt

2 tablespoonful of vinegar

4 - 6 tablespoonful of lemon juice

Mix all the ingredients together and leave your soup to ripen in the fridge for a few hours. The longer it

Prabhupada: Who will read? You will read? Give me one book. Give me one book. Open it. Where you are reading?
Tamala Krsna: Chapter Two, verse 62.
Prabhupada: Page?
Tamala Krsna: Page 84.
Prabhupada: Go on.
Tamala Krsna: "While contemplating the objects of the senses, a person develops attachment for them, and from such attachment lust develops, and from lust anger arises [Bg. 2.62]." Purport. "One who is not Krsna conscious is subjected to material desires while contemplating the objects of the senses. The senses require real engagements, and if they are not engaged in the transcendental loving service of the Lord, they will certainly seek engagement in the service of materialism."
Prabhupada: Yes. Here is the secret of yoga system. Yoga indriya-samyama. The real purpose of yoga is to control the senses. Our material activities means to engage the sense in some particular objective or enjoyment. That is our material engagement. And yoga system means that you have to contr

Hare Krishna. All glories to His Divine Grace Srila Gour Govinda Swami Srila Gurudeva.

All glories to His Divine Grace Srila AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada.
Please accept my humble obeisances. Hope this finds you well.
Sridham Navadwip is not the place where Sriman Mahaprabhu displayed His Radha Bhava. Radha Bhava is displayed after taking sannyas and when He came to Puri. In front of Lord Jagannath only, that mood intensified.
9468763485?profile=original
All the Manjari and Gopi associates came to Sriman Mahaprabhu after coming to Puri; Sri Swarup Damodhar, Sri Ramananda Raya, Sri Rupa, Sri Sanatan, Sri Raghunath das Goswami, etc.
The Lord's Vipralambha mood was displayed in Puri. Chant and Cry is in Puri, and Chant and be happy is in Navadwip, the sambhoga (union) kshetra.
9468764271?profile=original
In Navadwip there is jnana (knowledge) and aishwarya (opulence), and there is prema (transcendental love) starting from dasya (servant), sakhya (friendship) and vatsalya (parental). There is no madhurya (paramour) rasa like

LARGE NUMBERS ALONE IS NOT SUCCESS

LARGE NUMBERS ALONE IS NOT SUCCESS

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur ;

It is of course, no proof of the real success of any religious movement that it has been enabled to secure the allegiance of a large number of professed followers. The actual teachings of no prophet are followed by more than a very small minority of his professed followers.

As I have said before, regarding Parampara, there is no argument from me as far as the emergence of Pure Devotees is concerned. This will com

Nothing of what He gave us is mundane, so whether it is purely managerial such as the DOM, or individual, such as our respective sadhana prescriptions, or congregational, such as putting the account books on the front steps, or philosophical, such as accepting the sum total of His Words to be non-different and emanating from Sri Krishna Himself, these Instructions, Requests, Teachings and Personal Example all are working in tandem in formulating the blueprint or DNA of the ISKCON Movement for the next 10,000 years. They each individually and all collectively establish a marker that in its fulfillment will have the
