Ishwari Saraswati Nandini said;

devi krishna-mayi prokta
radhika para-devata
sarva-lakshmi-mayi sarva
kantih sammohini para

"The transcendental goddess Srimati Radharani is the direct counterpart of Lord Sri Krishna. She is the central figure for all the goddesses of fortune. She possesses all the attractiveness to attract the all-attractive Personality of Godhead. She is the primeval internal potency of the Lord."

To explain further, Srimati Radharani is also the source of the other goddesses, who are expansions of Her. Just as Lord Krishna is the source of all other expansions and incarnations of God, Radharani is the source of all other expansions of the energies of God, the shaktis, or other goddesses. Thus, Vishnu, Rama, even Shiva are all expansions of the one Supreme Being, and similarly Lakshmi, Sita, and even Durga are all expansions of this Supreme Feminine form of God, Radharani.

Lalita kunda, at Radha Kunda, has been in a lamentable condition for quite some time now. Devotees from ISKCON Vrindavan organized a bus full of enthusiastic devotees to go help clean the Kund, which is being headed by Radha kund resident, Laxmi Narayan baba. About 60 devotees, from all walks of life: gurukulis, matajis, brahmacharis, Prabhupada disciples, senior devotees, etc., came and made a chain to take out the tons of mud that had accumulated over many years. This went on for hours and somehow the weather became conducive for the volunteers. A sunny day became overcast, and a pleasant breeze blew.

My advice to you under the circumstances is that at least for one hour you must all go to have sankirtana outside on the streets or in the park. That is your life and soul, first business. The next business is completing the chanting of 16 rounds every day. The next business is your editing. And if you find extra time then you can attend the temple ceremonies. Otherwise you can stop these activities. But outdoor kirtana, your editing work, and chanting of 16 rounds must be done. Outdoor kirtana must be done, even at the cost of suspending all editorial work. That is your first and foremost business. Temple worship is not so important. If need be, the whole temple can be locked. But the outdoor kirtana cannot be stopped.

Śrīla Prabhupāda: From what I’ve seen it has a great chance. We don’t say, “Give up your religion and come to us.” We say, “At least follow your own principles. And then if you want to, study with us.” Sometimes it happens that although students have received their M.A. degree, they go to foreign universities to study more. Why does it happen? They want more enlightenment. Similarly, any religious scripture you may follow will give you enlightenment. But if you find more in this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement, then why should you not accept it? If you are serious about God, why should you say, “Oh, I am Christian,” “I am Jewish,” “I cannot attend your meeting”? Why should you say, “Oh, I cannot allow you to speak in my church”? If I am speaking about God, what objection can you have?

Shrila Prabhupada writes in his Bhaktivedanta Purport to (SB 3.17.4): "When natural disturbances occur on a planet, one should understand that a demon must have taken birth there. In the present age the number of demoniac people is increasing; therefore natural disturbances are also increasing. There is no doubt about this, as we can understand from the statements of the Bhagavata.

* Because of the heavy preaching done by Shankaracharya to drive out buddhism from India, impersonalism was prevalent, the Supreme Lord was being covered. So Adi-shesha himself had to descend to bring the Supreme Personality of Godhead back into their hearts.

"In the conditioned stage, one’s conceptions of life are sometimes polluted by passion and ignorance, which are exhibited by attachment, hostility, greed, lamentation, illusion, fear, madness, false prestige, insults, fault-finding, deception, envy, intolerance, passion, bewilderment, hunger and sleep. All of these are enemies. Sometimes one’s conceptions are also polluted by goodness."

This was read in August of 1977, his jyotish, just a few months before he left his body. In his chart it said, "You will live for six more years if you can live for the next six months. But watch out over the next six months, you will have some danger from juniors and subordinates, meaning the leaders, the people around you, they could be very dangerous." So Prabhupada makes a reference here to the jyotish, and in the jyotish there's a warning about his leaders being a potential cause of his death over the next six months. [2003 Update: The Astrology chart of Srila Prabhupada indeed confirms that there is a warning about his life being cut short due to some dangerous activities from some of his "juniors and subordinates," his leaders. The chart says that he will live, but only essentially if "the subordinates" do not kill him. Everything that Srila Prabhupada gave us is Perfect, Whole and Complete. His Original Pre-1977 Books are PERFECT, His Kirtan Melodies for Congregational Chanting of the Holy Name are PERFECT, His Direction of Management (founding document of the GBC, states that are to be elected every 3 years) is PERFECT, and each and every other Instruction, Order, Request and Example set by Him, is PERFECT. So later that day, drums rumbling in tune, danced Krsna and Balarama until light of moon.

Radha and shakhis did like to see, the glorious Lord move his righteous body.

On “The Hare Krishna Puzzle”

[The following conversation between His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and Satsvarupa dasa Gosvami took place in Calcutta, India, in January 1977.]

Satsvarupa Gosvami: Srila Prabhupada, a newspaper came today from America—the Boston Globe—with a long article titled “The Hare Krishna Puzzle.” A statement by one woman describes the devotees as “parasites.”

Srila Prabhupada: We are not parasites. We are publishing the best literature in the world. Does this literature come from illiterate hippies? We are accepted by so many scholars—how are we parasites? An intelligent person is not supposed to work like an ass. If we are parasites, then a high-court judge is also a parasite. A rascal sees a judge sitting—talking a little and getting a high salary—so he calls the judge a parasite.

Satsvarupa Gosvami: A parasite is one who lives off others.

Srila Prabhupada: If I enjoy another’s property without his approval, then I’m a parasite. But we aren’t

Just as by executing various pious activities one achieves different positions in heavenly life, by acting impiously one achieves different positions in hellish life. Those who are activated by the material mode of ignorance engage in impious activities, and according to the extent of their ignorance, they are placed in different grades of hellish life. If one acts in the mode of ignorance because of madness, his resulting misery is the least severe. One who acts impiously but knows the distinction between pious and impious activities is placed in a hell of intermediate severity.
