Lifts up the spirt (souls) of the participants, doesn't it? Why wouldn't anyone happily chant or sing the Mahamantra? Wonderful scene - very inspiring!

Srila Gaurakisora Dasa Babaji Maharaja

The Disappearance Day of Shrila Gaura-kishora dasa Babaji Maharaja
(from the book Shri Prabandhavali by Shri Shrimad Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja)
We cannot touch Shrila Gaura-kishora dasa Babaji Maharaja’s renounced lifestyle and high standard of bhajana, but we can at least accept and follow whatever lower principles that he established for us and practised in his own life. After making sufficient spiritual progress, we may be able to accept the higher things, but we should not desire to follow them in our present condition. Who can possibly follow his extreme renunciation, such as eating the clay of the Yamuna and Radha-kunda and remaining completely dependent on Bhagavan? He felt that if he lived in a mandira many people would come and disrupt his bhajana, so instead he lived in a latrine. People would come seeking his blessings for the purpose of attaining some material benefit, but he considered the stench of the latrin

The Ten Kinds of Offenses to the Holy Name

The Holy Name is not lip-deep only – a mere physical sound.

It has a greater and higher aspect; it is fully spiritual. That must

have the reference of Vaikun†ha.

Kun†ha means limitation, and

above all limitation. That immeasurable force is invited in the

form of sound to do away with all the anomalies in this mundane

world. We are in the plane of marginal existence; therefore a

higher connection is necessary. Then that wave will start from

some higher realm and will come down to us.

In sound also there is classification. A sound from the proper

plane will be effective but not any imitation sound. Imitation

                     Gaura-Gadadhara

Question: I have seen on your website that you are worshiping Gaura-Gadadhara at your ashrama. Why are you worshiping Gaura-Gadadhara rather than Gaura-Nitai?

Answer: We are also worshipping Gaura-Nitai at our asrama in a separate temple. However, your question was once asked to Srila Bhakti Pramoda Puri Gosvami to which he replied:

"If you do not worship Gaura-Gadadhara then you cannot understand Radha and Krsna."

In essence, it is as straight forward as that - without approaching Radha and Krsna through Gaura-lila we will be baffled in our attempt.

There is no difference between Radha-Krsna and Gaura-Gadadhara. Gaura-Gadadhara and Radha-Krsna are identical and have decended to teach the mellow of sankirtana-rasa, madhurya-rasa. Through Caitanya-lila we can approach the lake of the sweetest nectar.

Srila Prabhupada's Message

                                                       9468745656?profile=original

The whole corporate capitalist system depends upon consumerism. Unless we are convinced of the necessity of purchasing thier goods, the market collapses.

The embodied soul suffers under two layers of misconception; a subtle original one in which she wishes to be God-like, and a gross one of loss of self and identification with a form and format laid out by Maya devi to fulfill the desires. If one hears from a bonafide source of knowledge as to what really is the Self, then the illusion is broken. The awakened soul then has to engage in the processes of devotional service, hopefully under the supervision of the perfect spirtual master, in order to fully "change the heart" and realize love of Godhead.

Thus, we can see the importance to the elites of maintaining a state of adequate false ego among the masses, to ensure that the materialist false-ego societies will continue to buy and sell their products to enrich the elites, thing

“In the material world one has to work for the maintenance of the body and soul, but how can one perform such work in a way that is favorable to the execution of Krishna Consciousness?”(NOI.2.Purport, HDG A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada)

Activity is required in the material world. Unfortunately, without dovetailing all actions to Krishna Consciousness, one is simply wasting his time in fruitless pursuits of sense gratification. In Srila Prabhupada’s purport from the Bhagavad Gita 5.2, he says “action in Krsna Consciousness automatically helps one escape the result of fruitive action so that one need not descend to the material platform.” By engaging in devotional service and chanting the maha-mantra Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna, Krsna, Hare, Hare,  Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama, Rama, Hare, Hare, one can quickly see how Krishna shows his mercy. There is a higher taste that is aroused by chanting but it must be carefully nurtured in order for it to take root. “Bhakti is a so

Sri Rasikananda Gosvami

Sri Rasikananda Gosvami

March 9, 2008

Saturday 8 March 2008 was the disappearance day of Sri Rasikananda Prabhu. The following is excerpted from “Sri Chaitanya: His Life & Associates” by Srila Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Gosvami Maharaja.

Srila Rasikananda Prabhu

Rasikananda’s Birth

Rasikananda Goswami was born in 1512 of the Saka era (1590 AD) in the village of Rohini or Rayni in the Midnapore district. This village is situated at the confluence of the Subarnarekha and Dolanga rivers. His father’s name was Raja Achyutananda and his mother, Bhavani Devi. The Subarnarekha River crosses back and forth across the present-day Bengal-Orissa border. Midnapore district used to be a part of the Orissan kingdom. Raja Achyutananda was an Orissan of the Karana caste, the equivalent of the Kayasthas in Bengal. A Vaishnava is beyond the material qualities and should not be judged in terms of his caste origins. Achyutananda and Rasikananda were born in the Karana caste in order to bless it.
