gadadhara-pandite tenho punah mantra dila
odana-shashthira dine yatra ye dekhila
TRANSLATION
Pundarika Vidyanidhi initiated Gadadhara Pandita for the second time, and on the day of Odana-shashthi he saw the festival.
PURPORT
At the beginning of winter, there is a ceremony known as the Odana-shashthi. This ceremony indicates that from that day forward, a winter covering should be given to Lord Jagannatha. That covering is directly purchased from a weaver. According to the arcana-marga, a cloth should first be washed to remove all the starch, and then it can be used to cover the Lord. Pundarika Vidyanidhi saw that the priest neglected to wash the cloth before covering Lord Jagannatha. Since he wanted to find some fault in the devotees, he became indignant.

BBT Admits Books Changed To Fit GBC Philosophy

By Adridharana Dasa
The BBT could not allow Srila Prabhupada to teach that Jagannatha Dasa Babaji actually *initiated* Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, for that would indirectly sanction Srila Prabhupada *initiating* for many generations to come simply via his transcendental knowledge, with the ‘formal initiation’ administered via the Ritvik system that he set up. We highlighted previously in newsletter No. 20, how Bhakti Caru Swami’s Bengali translation of the Srimad Bhagavatam had omitted a very key verse from Srila Prabhupada’s original version. The omitted verse in question would itself have destroyed the GBC’s position that they were duly authorised to be Diksa Gurus in ISKCON. This of course was shocking, since it showed that Srila Prabhupada’s books were being ‘edited’ not to bring them closer to the originals as claimed, but rather doctored to prop up the GBC’s bogus Guru philo
Nothing and no one has meaning, except in relation to all the other things and persons. There must always be a medium for there to be any exchange or relationship. ie a bridge between the respective parties, example; air as a medium, through which messages can be exchanged.
Holy Names are such a medium, They allow relationships between the soul and Godhead.

The world went from hellishly screwed up to outright flaming mad in the last twenty years. The trancing technologies have tied up many conditioned souls, such that they have no real identity, they do not know who they are.
We the Krsna devotees say that all persons in the material universes are entranced by a powerful being called Maya, who runs this simulation like a Matrix dreamland. Some are buried under many layers of dreams.
Detach from all material engagements. Chant this mantra; It is Names of Godhead, not of this mundane sphere. You will become reconnected to the Supreme Source, Godhead.

courtesy Govinda dasa Prabhu; Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswat said;
"People who are averse to Hari are naturally inclined to oppose the devotees of the Supreme Lord and are always intoxicated by their unethical, barbarian activities. The scriptural recommendation for dealing with them is pasunam lagudo yatha, or "the stick is the best remedy for taming animals." When the atheists are not checked, their animalistic propensities increase more and more so that they behave with Vaishnavas just like animals. It is not advisable for a Vaishnava to show indifference to the atheists on the plea of being simple-minded. This indifferent attitude encourages atheism. If, at any time of an attack on a Vaishnava, one keeps quiet like a gentleman, he has to face maya's punishment."
Letter from Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur Jagad Guru Srila Prabhupada, July 19, 1930.

Sri Saranga Murari Thakura used to reside at Modadrumadwipa Mam-gachi, where his Deities of Sri Sri Radha-Gopinath are still present. There is also a Bakul tree there which is perhaps existing since the time of Saranga Thakura. There is a local legend concerning this tree. One day when Mahaprabhu came there, he noticed that the Bakul tree in the courtyard of Saranga's temple was dying. So he asked Saran-ga, "This Bakul tree is dying, so what are you going to do?"
Saranga Thakura replied, "Besides Your mercy Prabhu, I don't see any hope for this tree." Then Mahaprabhu embraced that tree, which has remained healthy to this day and is now quite large.
Saranga Thakura had resolved that he would not accept any disciples but Mahaprabhu nevertheless repeatedly requested him to do so. Finally he relented and agreed by saying, "Tomorrow morning the first person I see I will initiate with the divine mantra."
The next day, in the early mornin
"We should not give up our reason and discriminatory power just to be gentle. One must have good discriminatory power to judge a thing on its merit. We should not follow the mild nature of a woman and thereby accept that which is not genuine." (Purport to Srimad Bhagavatam, 1.7.42)

"One will surely attain Shri Chaitanya and Shri Nityananda simply by remembering Kaliya Krishna Dasa." (Chaitanya Bhagavata) Completely devoted to Lord Nityananda, Kaliya Krishna Dasa knew nothing but the lotus feet of Nitai.
In Vraja lila he is Labanga, a cowherd boyfriend of Krishna-Balarama.

"Yes, having some faith in me and in this Kṛṣṇa consciousness process is the first and only requirement for getting actual wisdom.
If there is faith, understanding will follow. And as your understanding increases, so will your disgust with the spell of illusory energy. And when you voluntarily give up your entanglements in the material world, then the progress is assured."

"One injection of Kṛṣṇa consciousness will make him some day perfect in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, and he’s sure to go back to Godhead, back to home. So try to spread this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement. And this is your sādhana, execution of austerity, penance. Because you have to meet so many opposing elements. You have to fight with them. That is tapasya. You are tolerating so much insults, so much botheration, and so much inconveniences, personal discomfort, everything sacrificed, money—but it will not go in vain. Rest assured. It will not go in vain. Kṛṣṇa will, I mean to say, reward you sufficiently. You go on executing this Kṛṣṇa consciousness."

Srimad Bhagavatam 10th Canto 22nd Chapter Summary by HDG Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
Krishna Steals the Garments of the Unmarried Gopis
This chapter describes how the marriageable daughters of the cowherd men worshiped Katyayani to get Lord Sri Krishna as their husband, and how Krishna stole the garments of the young girls and gave the girls benedictions.
During the month of Margasirsha, every day early in the morning the young daughters of the cowherds would take one another’s hands and, singing of Krishna’s transcendental qualities, go
The purnima or full moon of Damodara month is the second full moon of the autumn season, and rasa lila is again celebrated. This second rasa yatra is celebrated more in Bengal, whereas the first one is celebrated more in Vrndavana.

Accurate biographies are difficult to find, yet authorities agree that Shri Nimbarkacharya preached Krishna consciousness about three-hundred years before the adventure of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
In Navadwipa Dhama Mahatyam, Shrila Bhaktivinoda Thakura says that Nimbarka had previously worshiped Lord Shiva in Bilva Paksha, Rudradwipa (Navadwipa). Lord Shiva appeared before Nimbarka instructing him to take initiation from the four Kumaras, who were meditating nearby. Nimbarka received Radha-Krishna mantra and continued living in Navadwipa. Following the teachings of the Sanat-Kumara Samhita, he worshiped Radha and Krishna with great love. Soon Radha and Krishna appeared before Nimbarka. Then the Divine Couple displayed Their unified form as Shri Gauranga Mahaprabhu.
Lord Gauranga said, "Nimbarka, in the future when I
Sri Kasisvara Pandita Gosvami had a temple near Sri Rampura at Catara. Mahaprabhu sent him to Vrindavana later on in his life. His disciple was Sri Govinda Gosai, the pujari of Sri Govinda Deva.
When Srila Rupa Gosvami discovered Sri Govinda Deva's Sri Vigraha at Gomati tila, he immediately sent word to Mahaprabhu at Puri. Mahaprabhu in turn requested Sri Kasisvara Pandita to go to Vrindavana. Kasisvara however expressed that "to have to give up your association will cause my heart to be split in two. Therefore please consider how I can honor your request without giving up my life."
Mahaprabhu could understand the heart of Kasisvara and therefore he gave him a self manifested Deity of Himself. Mahaprabhu sat down along with this Vigraha and accepted prasad at which Kasisvara's faith was kindled. Mahaprabhu intimated to him with this Deity and established him on the right side of Sri Govinda Deva. Then he began to serve Them with great love.

Dear Bhakta Peter,
I know that this is an important concern of yours...
Japanese Pure Land Buddhism is a remarkable Krishna-Bhakti related culture. The Devotees are extremely virtuous and one of their virtues is their astounding other-centered and loving service mentality. Part of this is their diligence in hospitality and cleanliness. Millions of Japanese Pure Land Buddhists can live in very cramped conditions and yet they can do it with great kindness, order and cleanliness. Everyone takes personal responsibility for the order and cleanliness of everything. There is no sense of high or low caste etc. Men and women all clean, work, worship etc. There is great respect for everyone and everyone has great humility.
When I was there, all of the PL Buddhist Devotees that I met, from the oldest to the little children were remarkably virtuous and responsible people, with an amazing sense of connectedness to their families, other beings, their community, humanity, nature a

The Holy Name - Part One
by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda
The holy name of Kṛṣṇa can only be chanted by those who have realized their true self, who are free from all offence and who are ever engaged in serving Kṛṣṇa. When a novice chants, full of offence, the holy name never yields its fruit: love for Kṛṣṇa. For this reason, for the jīva in the fallen state, the worship of Śrī Gaurāṅga and Nityānanda is more important and essential than the worship of Kṛṣṇa, since the latter is only possible in the liberated state. The novice is sure to commit offence due to want of spiritual training if he imitates the chanting of one who is liberated.
But even if someone is still in a s
The next in the parampara, after and is an associate of Bhaktivinoda Thakura - a great paramahamsa babaji by the name of Gaura Kisora dasa Babaji Maharaja. Technically he was the disciple of Bhagavat dasa Babaji Maharaja, who was a disciple of Jagannatha dasa Babaji Maharaja.
In 1897 Gaura Kisora dasa Babaji Maharaja came to Mayapur Navadwipa Dhama from Sri Vrndavana Dhama, where he was accredited the exalted title "Bhajananandi". Srila Bhaktivinoda (Kedarnath Datt), seeing the transcendental behaviour of Babaji Maharaja, would use him as an example of nirapeksa (indifference), as his level of renunciation was beyond belief.
This Vaisnava saint's life was an example of utter humility and poverty, the true attributes of a Vaisnava. Gaurakisora never accepted any material object from anyone. For his clothing he used the discarded loin cloths from corpses left on the bank of the Ganges. For food, he would collect rice by begging, soak it in river water, and garnish it with salt and chilly.
