Pavitropana Ekadasi

Pavitropana Ekadasi

BY: SUN STAFF

Aug 15, 2013 — INDIA (SUN) — Pavitropana or Putrada Ekadasi, observed on August 17th, from the Bhavishya Purana.

Shri Yudhisthira Maharaja said, "Oh Madhusudana, Oh killer of the Madhu demon, please be merciful to me and describe to me the Ekadasi that occurs during the light fortnight of the month of Shravana (July-August)." The Supreme Lord, Sri Krishna, replied, "Yes, Oh king, I shall happily narrate its glories to you, for just by hearing about this sacred Ekadasi one attains the merit of performing a horse sacrifice.

"At the dawn of Dvarpara-yuga there lived a king by the name of Mahijita, who ruled the kingdom of Mahismati-puri. Because he had no son, his entire kingdom seemed utterly cheerless to him. A married man who has no son gains no happiness in this life or the next.

The Sanskrit word for 'son' is putra. Pu is the name of a particular hell, and tra means 'to deliver.' Thus the word putra means 'a person who delivers one from the hell na

9468766870?profile=originalLikith Kumar Spiritual feelings of happiness and intense ecstasies have no mundane comparison. Therefore it is very difficult to give expression to such feelings. We can just have a glimpse of such ecstasy in the words of Sri Narada Muni. Each and every part of the body or sense has its particular function. After seeing the Lord, all the senses become fully awakened to render service unto the Lord because in the liberated state the senses are fully efficient in serving the Lord. As such, in that transcendental ecstasy it so happened that the senses became seperately enlivened to serve the Lord. This being so, Narada Muni lost himself in seeing both himself and the Lord simultaneously. Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.6.17

Spiritual not Material Body - The Third Miracle

BY: BHAGAVAT DAS (ACBSP)

The following pastimes demonstrate how a pure devotee is simultaneously present in this materiel world and yet totally disconnected from it and therefore not under its jurisdiction.

When Srila Prabhupada had his heart operation in the US many years ago the doctors put him under anesthesia as usual. However Srila Prabhupada remained conscious and chanted the holy name of Krishna throughout the procedure. The doctors of course were astounded, as any one would be who knows the powerful effects of anesthesia. It completely shuts down your brain and nervous system so that you feel and remember nothing. The subtle body consisting of mind, intelligence, and false ego, would not be able to perceive anything since the physical mechanism for expressing the subtle body, the brain, and nervous system would be shut down. For someone to remain conscious through such a procedure they would have to be completely transcendental to

Vamsidasa babaji Disappearance

971051_619868034712807_984569674_n.jpg
'During the time of Srila Prabhupada Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami Thakura there was a very prominent babaji named Vamsidasa babaji. He had long hair and wore only one loincloth nothing else. He had no bhajana-kutira at all. Rather, he lived under the shade of a tree as did his two deities, Gaura and Nityananda, who were always undecorated. Vamsidasa babaji used to play with them and sometimes quarrel with Them. He once went to pick some flowers for his worship, and there was a tree nearby with yellow karnikara flowers. It was not a very high tree, so he climbed up that tree to pick flowers. In the meantime the son of the proprietor of that land came and said, "What nonsense are you doing? He pushed Vamsidasa babaji, who fell down from the tree and became somewhat injured. Vamsidasa babaji then went directly to his deities and began to quarrel. He said, "Oh, Nityananda is very simple and very good. But this Mahaprabhu is very tricky and very cruel! I was picking some flowers for H

She grew up to be a great devotee of Vishnu and a mystic poet. She is the author of Thiruppavai. Even as a human she attained beatitude, as the consort of her chosen Lord Ranganatha of Srirangam. She is the best exponent of Bakthi Marga and a celebrated model of "bridal mysticism".

The prime difference between the Lord and the living entities is that the Lord is the creator and the living entities are the created. Here He is called the amogha-lilah, which indicates that there is nothing lamentable in His creation. Those who create disturbance in His creation are themselves disturbed. He is transcendental to all material afflictions because He is full with all six opulences, namely wealth, power, fame, beauty, knowledge and renunciation, and thus He is the master of the senses. He creates these manifested universes in order to reclaim the living beings who are within them suffering threefold miseries, maintains them, and in due course annihilates them without being the least affected by such actions. He is connected with this material creation very superficially, as one smells odor without being connected with the odorous article. Nongodly elements, therefore, can never approach Him, despite all endeavors.

SRILA PRABHUPADA & SRILA GOUR GOVINDA

THE FIRST MIRACLE

By: Bhagavat Das (ACBSP)

There are three miracles that Srila Prabhupada & Srila Gour Govinda Maharaja both executed while performing their pastimes in this world. Each one of these miracle pastimes took place in different countries and under different circumstances with different devotees; however the results were the same. In this first article in the series I will describe the first miracle they shared in common and then in two successive articles explain the other two.

In the old days at Juhu Beach, in what was then called Bombay, we had a great struggle against the materiel energy to secure the land and begin the temple project for Sri Sri Radha Rasa Bihari. One of Srila Prabhupada’s biggest supporters was a Punjabi gentleman named Mr. Shetty. He was a contractor and he and his family adored Srila Prabhupada. When the land was first secured in Juhu there was no housing available on it for Srila Prabhupada so he stayed at Mr

The bona fide spiritual master cannot say that all paths lead to the same goal and that anyone can attain this goal by his own mode of worship of the demigods or of the Supreme or whatever. Any common man can very easily understand that a person can reach his destination only when he has purchased a ticket for that destination. A person who has purchased a ticket for Calcutta can reach Calcutta, but not Bombay. But the so-called spiritual masters say that any and all paths will take one to the supreme goal. Such mundane and compromising offers attract many foolish c

I have read Maharajah's books like "Appreciating Vrndavana" and continue to find it wonderful. A great misfortune arose, no doubt our readers are all well familiar; yet another Itsacon-co. corporate Gooroo has retired early, leaving followers in great discomfort and even shock, as many of them were stupid enough to fall for the con game being played against them by the poisoner's sampradaya.

Our dear site members are reminded why they are here, why we opened this site. IT IS TO SAVE YOUR SORRY SELF FROM BEING EATEN ALIVE BY SNAKES.

No one has to worry about me, one of the onsite brahmanas,  being fallen or stellar, because I am simply an agent for Srila Prabhupada,  We  recognize the aspiring followers, and in the right times, offer some advices, some literatures, all pointing to who? to SRILA PRABHUPADA.  And when prepared, we offer recognition of this following by offering diksha,  in our official recognized capacity as temple presidents, SAME AS WE ALWAYS DID

"Do not give up devotional service even if there are innumerable dangers, countless insults and endless harassment. Do not become disheartened that most people in this world do not accept the message of unalloyed devotional service. Always chant the Holy Name becoming more humble than a blade of grass and more tolerant than a tree." Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura.

Kamika Ekadasi

Kamika Ekadasi

BY: SUN STAFF

Jul 31, 2013 — CANADA (SUN) — An explanation of Kamika Ekadasi, observed August 2nd, from the Brahma Vaivarta Purana.

The saintly king Yudhisthira Maharaj said, "Oh Supreme Lord, I have heard from You the glories of fasting on Deva-sayani Ekadasi, which occurs during the light fortnight of the month of Ashadha. Now I would like to hear from You the glories of the Ekadasi that occurs during the dark fortnight (Krishna paksha) of the month of Shravana (July -August). Oh Govindadeva, please be merciful to me and explain its glories. Oh Supreme Vasudeva, I offer my most humble obeisances unto You."

The Supreme Lord, Shri Krishna, replied, "Oh King, please listen attentively as I describe the auspicious influence of this Holy fast (vrata) day, which removes all sins. Narada Muni once asked Lord Brahma about this same topic. 'Oh regent of all beings,' said Naradji, 'Oh you who sit upon a water born lotus throne, please tell me the names of the Ekadasi that occu
