It was a warm humid summer in Chicago in Evanston at the Hare Krsna Temple, 1975. It was a wonderful temple, with Sri Sri Kishor-Kishori, Gour Nitai, and Lord Jagannatha Swami and his Brother Baladeva, and Their beautiful and sometimes ksatriya-like sister Subhadra devi, resplendent inside.

There were many devotees' vehicles, including the bus parties, lining streets all around the mandira. There was to be Rathayatara, initiations including a babaji sannyasa initiation for Audolomi Prabhu, Deity installations, and Srila Prabhupada would lecture on Ajamila from Srimad Bhagavatam.

Puri, con'td. part 4 Bhaktipurusottama Swami joins Iskcon.

We were on a bus, and behind us a young Orissan lad, Mahesh Candra Pattanaik, was looking at us with much polite curiosity. Padmapani Prabhu and I started talking to him ; Padma said, "We're with Swami Prabhupada, Krishna Movement." I asked him if he was a student, and he explained that he was, but also very interested in spiritual life and bhakti. We shared some details, and were invited to his home at 55 ? Hate Gurudeve Lane, there in Puri, that evening.

We went that evening, and met his very nice devotee father and family, shared Jagannatha prasada, did a little kirtan, gave a book or two. They were all quite fascinated by us, lol, hare krsnas, and we with them. They were a nice Vaisnava traditional family, humble, clean, simple, devotional sevatas of Lord Jagannatha. We were actually very blessed to have this association with the residents of the holy dhama, and a chance to serve them and serve with them.

Our dearly loved Sri Krsna Kirtan devi dasi, ie Kay Wilson,, spiritnet brahmana and initiate, having served Srila Prabhupada for decades doing major service, passed on to Lord Nityananda's eternal kirtan a couple of months ago, Novemeber 2024, just learned of it. Her grown married daughter Radha dasi and family are left behind.

Sri Krsana Kirtan devi did so much service, all her life, and truly cared for the well-being of others. Gauranga! Hare Krsna! Many will miss her a lot in this world

If you simply want Krsna, that is all perfection

Well, I cannot afford that... is it available for free as a PDF anywhere? The books that will help restore Srila Prabhupada's divine mission should be free. Comments?

'DAYA' AND 'SEVA'.

His Divine Service A.C.Bhaktivedantaswami Prabhupada:

Dayā. One must be merciful. Dayā means... When a man is suffering a fellow man, another fellow man must feel for it. That is called dayā. There are two things: dayā and sevā. Sevā means to give service to the superior, and dayā means to give service to the inferior. Both of them are service. Dayā, I mean to say... A man is suffering. He is in helpless condition. Just like in hospital, those who are patients, who are diseased, they go to the hospital There is also sevā. The nurse is serving.

The doctor is serving. But that is not sevā. That is called dayā. He is not obliged, but out of his compassion, he's giving service to the patient. That is called dayā. And sevā means superior. Just like spiritual master. Sevayā. Tad viddhi praṇipātena paripraśnena sevayā (BG 4.34). Because the Vedic injunction is that "You must go to a spiritual master." PREDICTIONS ON THE APPEARANCE OF SRI CAITANYA MAHAPRABHU.

Lord Caitanya is considered and was established by Vedic scripture as the most recent incarnation of God. The Lord always descends to establish the codes of religion. This is confirmed in Bhagavad-gita (4.6-8) where Lord Krishna explains that although He is unborn and the Lord of all living beings, He still descends in His spiritual form in order to re-establish the proper religious principles and annihilate the miscreants whenever there is a decline of religion and a rise in irreligious activity.

Though there are many incarnations of God, all incarnations are known and predicted in the Vedic literature. Each incarnation performs many wonderful pastimes. But in Kali-yuga, the Lord descends in the form of His own devotee as Sri Caitanya in order to show the perfect example of how devotional service should be performed, and to stress the chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra for this age by inaugurating the process of the sanki

Just sacrifice the fruit of the engagement. That is to be given to Kṛṣṇa. This is surrender. Just like a good boy surrenders to his father means whatever he earns, the money, at the end of month he puts in the hand of the father: "Oh, this is my month's earnings"; similarly, we have to sacrifice the fruits of our labor to Kṛṣṇa. Srila Prabhupada..."In India, especially, this is the situation. The government is thinking that Indian people, being too much religiously inclined, they have fallen down economically; therefore these religious sentiments should be stopped completely. It is not encouraged. Here in Vṛndāvana so many pilgrims, they come from all parts of India; now all parts of world, they're coming. But it is kept in such unclean state to discourage people not to come here. That is the idea, so that people, educated people, modernized people may not come here. They do not want. That is the policy, I am seeing. They are introducing in the Vṛndāvana area so many industrial things so that the spiritual atmosphere is to be killed. That is the policy is going on. Nobody... The chur..., I mean to say, the temples are neglected. No question of improvement. The whole idea is not to come here: "Please do not come." They cannot say directly, but this is the idea going on."

Bhaktivinoda Thakura at the end of his days, he was so old, very

old. His eyelids had to be lifted by someone, so that he could see, and move

his head. At that time he said, “I want a horse to ride on to go out and

preach.” He was very very old, like invalid but such spirit was there. Do

you understand? We follow this Bhaktivinoda-dhara (line). Someone may have a

different dhara, but our dhara is Prabhupada dhara. It is different. So we

follow him. This difference is there, but the destination is the same. A

preacher’s heart is pierced to see suffering, “Oh, he is Krishna’s soul. Out

of ignorance he is suffering. He is not engaged in bhajan. Let me go and

Close lifelong friend Perry McNaughton / Padmapani Prabhu ACBSSP, has gone to Sridhama Mayapura to join Lord Nityananda's eternal kirtans.

Mild, brave, steady, poetic, intelligent, clean, determined, devoted, hard working, tolerant, come to mind of his character.

I went to high school with Padma. We travelled India together. We did sankirtan all over America and Canada. Our mothers were best friends. He worked for me for over a year, i bought him a car he used to travel to Mexico.

Next to you, and Ramon who doesn't call either, my closest living friend now gone. I was thinking of him tried to find his phone number, like, day before yesterday. I hope he remembers us and prays for us to be freed from maya. Gauranga!

He is with Gour Nitai now...
