REAL MAGIC BY PRABHUPADA In September 1976 a circus magician visited the Krishna-Balaram Mandir in Vrndavana and showed Prabhupada and the devotees his repertoire of tricks. Hearing that Prabhupada had agreed to see the magician, Prabhupada's friend Bhagatji hurried to the gurukula to gather all the students and teachers. Within minutes, most of the temple leaders, teachers, and gurukula boys gathered in Prabhupada's room to see the fun. Prabhupada sat pleasantly behind his desk and asked the magician what he could do. The magician placed a coin in Srila Prabhupada's hand. When the magician commanded "Go," the coin somehow slipped out of Prabhupada's hand. "Can you make the money come?" Prabhupada joked. "No," the magician replied. "You can only make the money go," Srila Prabhupada said. The magician then produced boxes in which different colors suddenly appeared in different slots. He also had games with feathers. He would take a white feather, rub it, pull it with his fingers, and it would turn into many different colors. Several times he asked Srila Prabhupada to help him with the tricks. Coins appeared from Prabhupada's ears and Prabhupada laughed at the illusion, but some of the devotees felt uneasy that their spiritual master was being made the object of the mystification and tricks. Srila Prabhupada seemed to enjoy it, but after a while he deliberately changed the mood. "What about the miseries of life?" Prabhupada asked the magician. "Can you make these disappear? Birth, death, disease, and old age?" The magician replied submissively, "No, that I cannot." At these words the magician sat down and Srila Prabhupada took the superior position. "But I can make these things disappear," Srila Prabhupada said. "That is the real magic." The magic show ended and Srila Prabhupada spoke his realized, transcendental wisdom to the magician and all the assembled devotees. Srila Prabhupada then gave the magician a garland and distributed sweets to everyone in the room. >>>>>Dhanurdhara Swami and Dvarakadhisa dasa, interviews. Hari Sauri dasa, diary. some nice nectar from Srila prabhupada......."It is expected by all means that by discharging regulated devotional service one must manifest the change of heart. If there is no such change, the heart must be considered steel-framed, for it is not melted even when there is chanting of the holy name of the Lord. We must always remember that hearing and chanting are the basic principles of discharging devotional duties, and if they are properly performed there will follow the reactional ecstasy with signs of tears in the eyes and standing of the hairs on the body. These are natural consequences and are the preliminary symptoms of the bhāva stage, which occurs before one reaches the perfectional stage of prema, love of Godhead.

If the reaction does not take place, even after continuous hearing and chanting of the holy name of the Lord, it may be considered to be due to offenses only."

To chant the holy name and dance in ecstasy is so easy and sublime that one can achieve

>>> SRILA ABHIRAMA THAKURA <<<

Srila Abhirama Thakura was one of the most vigorous preachers among the associates of Lord Nityananda Prabhu. If Abhirama Thakura offered obeisances to any stone other than a sacred salagrama-sila, it would at once burst into pieces. Abhirama Thakura used his home for preaching and for serving Vaisnava pilgrims. His house constantly resounded with kirtana and topics of Krsna.

According to Gaura-Ganodesa-Dipika (12) in Krishna-lila he was Sridama, one of the 12 prominent boy cowherd friends of Sri Krsna. He was Nityananda's dearmost Devotee. Śrī Rāmadāsa was later known as Abhirāma Ṭhākura, he married his wife, Malini, upon the order of Sri Nityananda Prabhu.

Also in the Bhakti-ratnākara (Fourth Wave), there is a description of Śrīla Abhirāma Ṭhākura.
By the order of Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu, Abhirāma Ṭhākura became a great ācārya and preacher of the Caitanya cult of devotional service.

When Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu ordered Nityananda Prabhu to prea

Going hand in hand with religious denomination (sampradaya) are the religious marks worn by the devotees of the the various schools of Hindu theology. These marks are called tilaka, or in Hindi and many other regional languages, tika. The tilaka is a religious mark worn mainly on the forehead and is made primarily of sandal paste, clay, or ash. The word tilaka is literally a “freckle” or “spot” and it is considered highly auspicious to wear these marks. In general, there are three broad categories of tilaka marks, those worn by Vaishnavas, those worn by Shaivas and general marks. Tilaka marks are made with white, red, yellow or black colors. Vaishnava marks run vertically on the body and Shaiva marks run hor

9468764501?profile=original"The answer to your Istagosthi questions are as follows: Unless one is a resident of Krishna Loka, one cannot be a Spiritual Master. That is the first proposition. A layman cannot be a Spiritual Master, and if he becomes so then he will simply create disturbance. And who is a liberated person? One who knows Krishna. It is stated in BG, fourth chapter, anyone who knows Krishna in truth is immediately liberated, and after quitting the present body, he immediately goes to Krishna. That means he becomes a resident of Krishna Loka. As soon as one is liberated he is immediately a resident of Krishna Loka, and anyone who knows the truth of Krishna can become Spiritual Master. That is the version of Lord Caitanya. So to summarize the whole thing, it is to be understood that a bona fide Spiritual Master is a resident of Krishna Loka."

When Will I Realize that
The Holy Name is Directly Kṛṣṇa?

by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda

(Portrait of Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda)

Question 1: When will I be able to realize that the holy name is directly Kṛṣṇa?

Answer: The name (nāma – Śrī Kṛṣṇa) and the person (nāmī – Śrī Kṛṣṇa) are non-different. This shall be especially realized when our anarthas have been destroyed. When Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s name is chanted without offences, one can directly realize that through His name alone, all types of perfection can be attained.

While regularly chanting the holy name, as all the anarthas are gradually dispelled, His form, qualities and pastimes shall be naturally realized in one’s heart. One need not endeavour to artificially remember the form, qualities and pastimes of Śrī Kṛṣṇa. For those who chant the holy names, step by step, the obstacles of their egoistic gross and subtle bodies are removed and their eternal constitutional form (siddha-svarūpa) is awakened. And, after one’s eternal form manifests, chanting the

Baladeva !

THE TRANSCENDENTAL ABODE EXISTS BY THE ENERGY OF LORD BALARAMA

Balarama is the servitor Godhead who serves Lord Krsna in all affairs of existence and knowledge. The transcendental abode exists by the energy of Lord Balarama. Krsna’s first expansion in a form for pastimes is Balarama. Balarama Himself helps in the pastimes of Lord Krsna and He does the work of creation in four other forms. In all forms Balarama tastes the transcendental bliss of serving Krsna” (CC Adi 4.8-11v.).

“If we develop consciousness of this fact, then we are in actual Krsna consciousness. We should always remember that Krsna is the only Supreme Master and that everyone else is His servant ekale isvarah krsna, ara saba bhrtya. Either Narayana or Lord Siva, everyone is subordinate to Krsna. Even Baladeva is subordinate to Krsna’ (SB 10.13.53p.). “1n the transcendental pastimes, Krsna is the chief hero, and Balarama provides additional help.” (SB 10.8. 27p.).

Here are some nectar notes and verses on the Holy Name...if read...your chanting will never be the same :)

Here is the essence of the entire Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, devotional service to the Lord Sri Kṛṣṇa. One should chant the Holy Name, and by what ever means listen to the katha of God and the Holy Name will come into the heart.

I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Supreme Lord, Hari, the congregational chanting of whose holy names destroys all sinful reactions, and the offering of obeisances unto whom relieves all material suffering.

Also in 12.12.46-50, especially verse 46 confirms this siddhānta;

From Bhakti Ananda Goswami: Sacred Basil / Tulasi was given to Jesus Christ on His Cross. It was dipped in HalaHala, the Sins of the Universe! When He had taken it, He said "It is Finished" and He 'became sin for us'. Then a Martial Roman Soldier pierced His Side with the Vel of Skanda (Mars) that destroys sin ! Jesus accepted the Vel just as Krishna had in a previous Lila. Siva (or Vishnu) Nila-Kantha did NOT swallow the Hala Hala, but Jesus DID, and thus He descended to the Dead.

Some Traditions say Sacred Basil / Tulasi sprang-up where Jesus Christ's Blood dropped on the ground. Other Traditions say that Sacred Basil sprang-up from Mary's Tears. Still others relate that Holy Basil grew directly out of Jesus Christ's Cross.

TULAsi's Name is from the same root as Mary's Name, Mother Most TOLERANT. She ALONE can forgive the Murder of Her Son, or a Priest! TULAsi ALONE can forgive the Murder of a Brahmin Priest!

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati

Sri Krsna manifest His eternal birth the pure cognitive essence of the serving soul who is located above all mundane limitations, King Kamsa is the typical aggressive empiricist, ever on the lookout for the appearance of the truth for the purpose of suppressing Him before He has time to develop. This is no exaggeration of the real connotation of the consistent empiric position. The materialist has a natural repugnance for the transcendent. He is disposed to link that faith in the incomprehensible is the parent of dogmatism and hypocrisy in the guise of religion. He is also equally under the delusion that there is no real dividing line between the material and the spiritual, he is strengthened in his delusion by the interpretation of scriptures by persons who are like-minded with himself. This includes all the lexicographic interpreters.

The lexicographical interpretation is upheld by Kamsa as the real scientific explanation of the scriptures, and is

EXPLANATION OF SRI KRSNA RASA DANCE

Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura points out that according to Bhagavad-gita, the Brahma day and Brahma night are periods of solar years expanding to 4,300,000 multiplied by 1,000. According to Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura, the rasa dance was performed during the long period of Brahma's night, but the gopis could not understand that. In order to fulfill their desire, Krsna extended the night to cover such a great period of time.

One may ask how this was possible, and Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura reminds us that Krsna, although bound by a small rope, could show His mother the whole universe within His mouth. How was this possible? The answer is that He can do anything for the pleasure of His devotees.

Similarly, because the gopis wanted to enjoy Krsna, they were given the opportunity to associate with Him for a long period. This was done according to His promise. When Krsna stole the garments of the gopis while they we

Mahāprabhu’s Prīti-Dharma Process

Mahāprabhu's Prīti-Dharma Process

Excerpt from a lecture given by Śrī Śrīmad Gour Govinda Swami Mahārāja
on 6 Juli 1992, Bhubaneswar, India.

Thus we have ātma-dharma and mano-dharma. Mano-dharma is aprīti-dharma, dharma not based on love, aprīti, which is concocted, imaginative. Therefore mano-dharma is speculation. Ātma-dharma is based on prīti-dharma, love, and descends by the hearing process, śrauta-paramparya. Prīti-dharma is dharma based on love where Kṛṣṇa is prīti-viaya, the object of love, and all bhaktas, devotees are prīti-āśraya. This is viaya and āśraya. There is harmony between them; there is no question of disharmony. If you establish yourself in this prīti-dharma, then there will be no disharmony at all, only harmony. Some say that there is some aprīti in priti-dharma, but one should understand that there is some aprīti in those who say this. That is why they say that, b

"According to the Vedas, we are currently in the Kali-yuga, an age that will continue for hundreds of years. In this particular age, the most recommended spiritual intervention for countering mental disturbances such as depression and anxiety is chanting of the maha mantra. Fortunately, this mantra is not secret, as the Vedas widely broadcast the maha mantra. The Kali-santarana Upanisada states (Prabhupada, 1975):

hare krsna hare krsna krsna krsna hare hare hare rama hare rama rama rama hare

“Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. These sixteen names composed of thirty-two syllables comprise the only mantra that can completely eradicate the pernicious influences that afflict the mind in this Kali-yuga” (p. 274).

Similarly, the Brhad-naradiya Purana (Prabhupada, 1976) declares:

harer nama harer namaharer namaiva kevalamkalau nasty eva nasty evanasty eva gatir anyatha

“In the Kali-yuga, the mantra containing the name

In the writings of Bhaktivinoda Thakur we find:

"It is an utmost duty of every householder to honor his guests, help the POOR and fallen, and try to associate with saintly persons. Due to the lack of proper education and training nowadays people do not consider honoring guests and helping the poor as a duty."

Srila Prabhupada’s Srimad Bhagavatam purport (1.14.43): "It is the duty of a householder to feed first of all the children, the old members of the family, the brahmanas and the invalids. Besides that, an ideal householder is required to call for any unknown hungry man to come and dine before he himself goes to take his meals. He is required to call for such a hungry man thrice on the road. The neglect of this prescribed duty of a householder, especially in the matter of the old men and children, is unpardonable."

Srila Prabhupada wanted prasadam distributed widely in the villages of India through traveling parti

Sri Balarama Rasayatra

733956_569562873076657_576578210_n.jpg

"Lord Balarama could, of course, understand the ecstatic feelings of the gopis, and therefore He wanted to pacify them. He was expert in presenting an appeal, and thus, treating the gopis very respectfully, He began to narrate the stories of Krsna so tactfully that the gopis became satisfied. In order to keep the gopis in Vrndavana satisfied, Lord Balarama stayed there continually for two months, namely the months of Caitra (March-April) and Vaisakha (April-May). For those two months He kept Himself among the gopis, and He passed every night with them in the forest of Vrndavana in order to satisfy their desire for conjugal love. Thus Balarama also enjoyed the rasa dance with the gopis during those two months. Since the season was springtime, the breeze on the bank of the Yamuna was blowing very mildly, carrying the aroma of different flowers, especially of the flower known as kaumudi. Moonlight filled the sky and spread everywhere, and thus the banks of the Yamuna appeared to be very b

"The formula for ISKCON organization is very simple and can be understood by everyone. The world is divided into twelve zones. For each zone there is one zonal secretary appointed by Srila Prabhupada. The zonal secretaries duty is to see that the spiritual principles are being upheld very nicely in all the Temples of his zone. Otherwise each Temple shall be independent and self-supporting. Let every Temple President work according to his own capacity to improve the Krishna Consciousness of his center. So far the practical management is concerned, that is required, but not that we should become too much absorbed in fancy organization. Our business is spiritual life, so whatever organization needs to be done, the Presidents may handle and take advice and assistance from their GBC representative. In this way let the Societies work go on and everyone increase their service at their own creative rate."
