An Excerpt from "Advancements of Ancient India's Vedic Culture" by Sri Nandanandana dasa.

As devotees and followers of the Vedic path, we already accept the premise that Lord Krishna appeared 5,000 years ago and spoke the Bhagavad-gita in the Mahabharata war. But it is always nice when scholars, other researchers and science can add support to what we already propose. So let’s take a look at this.

One aspect that can show us the early nature of Vedic society, and with a little more reliability, is highlighting the time when Lord Krishna was present. This is another point that has generated many opinions, but is now much clearer than ever with more recent research and findings.

Astrophysicist Dr. Narahari Achar, a physicist from the University of Memphis, clearly showed with astronomical analysis that the Mahabharata war took place in 3067 BCE. Examining the Mahabharata, books 3, 5, and 18, his sky map software showed that all these descriptions converge in the year 3067. Achar als

13. Fejezet Pál apostol első levele a korintusiakhoz

    A szeretet himnusza.
A szeretet türelmes, a szeretet jóságos,
    A szeretet nem féltékeny,
    Nem kérkedik, nem gőgösködik,
Nem tapintatlan, nem keresi a magáét,
Haragra nem gerjed, a rosszat föl nem rója,
    Nem örül a gonoszságnak,
    De együtt örül az igazsággal.
    Mindent eltűr, mindent elhisz,
    Mindent remél, mindent elvisel.
A szeretet soha el nem múlik.
    A prófétálás megszűnik,
    A nyelvek elhallgatnak,
    A tudomány elenyészik.

It's nice to have the strong desire to glorify the pure devotees of the lord by bringing more natural born devotees who forgot that our small service to SRILA PRABHUPADA is our perfection of life.  We have got not doubts about that, SRILA PRABHUPADA also used to says that the mercy of SRI KRSNA come especially for the living entities who got the human form of life.

We know from the sastra that our first form of life it's the human form of life, then by the degradation of the guna sanga-sya, one need to renew the own karma and the middle planets like the earth planet is for this. People who forgot that to be devotee means to be conscious that all forms of life are coming from ADVAITA ACYUTAM ANADIM ANANTAM RUPAM, whatever we do in krsna consciousness it's a training for almost everyone.

May be we can't see the result of our spiritual activities immediately but through the factor time everything gets clear by keeping serving SRILA PRABHUPADA who is a

“As Sat-yuga is the best of yugas (ages), as the Vedas are the best among scriptures, as Ganga is best of rivers, so Kartik is the best of months, the most dear to Lord Krishna.” (Skanda Purana)

In the Padma Purana it is said, “The Lord may offer liberation or material happiness to a devotee, but after some devotional service has been executed, particularly in Mathura during the month of Karttika, the devotees want only to attain pure devotional service unto the Lord.”

THE GLORIES OF KARTIKA

Here we find the rules and regulations for observing Kartik plus additional explanation of Damodarastakam Prayer which should be sung and deeply meditated upon everyday during Radhika's holy month, as well as other useful information that will help us to be absorbed in the mellows of love for Sri Damodar.

Purports and Translation by HDG A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada

ISKCON was founded to wage war on Maya

9468772484?profile=original

Srila Prabhupada often referred to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness as his declaration of war on maya. The focus of his mission is clearly outlined in the pranama prayers we regularly sing to glorify him:

namas te sarasvate deve gaura-vani-pracarine nirvisesa-sunyavadi-pascatya-desa-tarine

"We offer our respects unto you, the student of Sarasvati Gosvami. You are kindly teaching the message of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu for the purpose of delivering the Western World from impersonalism and voidism. "

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta further clarified the extraordinary difference between even the simplest things done as a service to Krishna and the most visible grandiose forms of non-devotional welfare work:

"The thousands of karmies who have opened innumerable hospitals, old age homes, centers for the poor, and schools and the thousands of jnanis who have undergone meditation and several austerities, are insignificant compared to

Offer a Lamp in Karthik(Damodar):The Holiest Month... starts from 29th oct to 28th nov 2012

Kartik (Damodar)...The Holiest Month... starts from 29th oct to 28th nov 2012
Kartik (Damodar) is the best, the purest of purifiers, and most glorious of all months. Kartik month is particularly dear to Lord Sri Krishna. This month is full of bhakta vatsalya. Any vrata, even the smallest, will yield huge results. The effect of performing a Kartik Vrata lasts for one hundred lifetimes, Kartik or the festival of offering lamps to Lord Krishna, glorifies Lord Krishna’s pastime of being bound with ropes by Mother Yashoda.

Everybody should follow following practices in Kartik (Damodar) month:

1. Daily offer a ghee lamp to Krishna and sing the Damodarastakam, meditating on meaning.

2. One should always remember Supreme Lord Hari. Devotees should try to do more Harinam Chanting. Do extra rounds and more kirtana.

3. Hear Srimad Bhagavatam, daily in association of exalted Vaisnavas, if possible. All other d

Uttama-Bhakti

by Sri Srimad Bhakti Prajnana Kesava Gosvami Maharaja

(Portrait of Sri Srimad Bhakti Prajnana Kesava Gosvami Maharaja)

The original form of Bhagavan descended during this age of quarrel and hypocrisy as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu to deliver all of the living entities. Srila Rupa Gosvami, who is priya-svarupa, the very embodiment of everything dear to Him, and who is foremost among those who established the deepest wishes of His heart, has revealed the symptoms of uttama-bhakti, the utmost culmination of devotional service to Krsna:

anyabhilasita-sunyam jnana-karmadyanavrtam
anukulyena krsnanusilanam bhaktir-uttama

Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu (1.1.11)

anya-abhilasita – prone to selfish, ulterior desires; sunyam – devoid; jnana – knowledge; karma – fruitive work; adi – and so on; anavrtam – not eclipsed; anukulyena – through genuine kindness to Him; krsna – Krsna; anu – perpetual; silanam – ardent endeavour; bhaktir-uttama – the utmost culmination of bhakti (devotional service to Krsna).

Perpetual, ardent endeavour meant exclusiv

Śrī Śrī Rādhā - Mādhava

The Discovery of the Ancestral Deities of

Śrīla Bhaktivinode Thakur

Click here 07-Track-07-Jaya-Radha-Madhava.mp3 The song “Jaya Radha-Madhava” written by Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura was a favourite of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who would sing it every day just before his public lectures.

A Brief History

Five hundred years ago Krishnananda Dutta, a disciple of Lord Nityananda Prabhu and a wealthy landowner, worshiped deities of Sri Sri Radha-Madhava in his home in Andul. After his retirement from family affairs, Krishnananda Dutta moved to the holy place Jagannatha Puri in Orissa, where he continued worshiping Sri Sri Radha-Madhava.

The King Donated an Entire Village

After some time he met the feudal king of Ali State, who was impressed with Krishnananda’s spiritual qualities. The king invited him to live in his state, and donated an entire village, named Chho

"So we have no experience below zero degrees. But in Europe, America, there is places. In Russia also, below fifty degrees. But they do not stop their business. They know that "Winter season has come. It will go away again." So devotees, even they are in distressed condition, they know, "It has come due to my bad activities in the past. It will go away. Let me suffer and finish it." Just like if you become, all of a sudden, infected with some disease. So what? You'll go mad? No. You know that "I have infected this disease. Let me suffer a few days. It will go away. That's all." This is the mentality of the devotees. They are not disturbed. And if he's not disturbed, then he's fit for becoming liberated."

Sankirtan Stories, Part 2

BY: MANIDHARA DAS (ACBSP)

Oct 22, 2012 — COPENHAGEN, DENMARK (SUN) —

THE RAINY DAY

I still remember that small town in the middle of Germany where we parked our car. The town was indeed very small and on top of that we had already days and days of rain pouring down on our water soaked books and bodies.

Getting sick, I chanted in the hotel my rounds in a dizzy type of condition, trying to get my feverish mind under control. Finally arriving in the middle of the town I watched the devotees getting out of the car, with great roar and determination once again ready to push Srila Prabhupada's books into the laps of the stubborn and obstinate (German :-) conditioned souls. I decided to stay back for little while, hoping that the fever will somewhat be reduced during the day. But after a few minutes sitting in an empty cold van, I could see the first karmis passing by the condensated water covered windows of the car I was imprisoned in. The sight became untolerable.

Srila Madhvacarya

 Srila Madhvacarya

madhva2.jpg

Madhvacarya was born around 1238 A.D. eight miles south-east of the modern town of Udipi, in the Karnataka State. He is reputed to be the incarnation of Bhima, taking birth in Kali-yuga to destroy the daityas. Others refer to him as Vayu himself and it was his life's mission to defeat the followers of Sankaracarya.

He was born in the family of very elevated brahmanas and from his early childhood performed many amazing pastimes, such as the killing of a huge serpentine demon named Maniman, simply with the big toe of his left foot.

Madhava was only eight years old when he received spiritual initiation and at the age of twelve he accepted the sannyasa order and began to travel the length and breadth of India.

He enjoyed a long life of robust health. He engaged in various forms of sport and physical exercise in his youth, such as wrestling, swimming and even mountaineering, which he kept up to the very end. He had very handsome features with a strong muscular

Papankusa /Shuddha Ekadasi

Yudhishthira maharaj said, Oh Madhusudana, what is the name of the Ekadasi that comes during the light fortnight of the month of Ashvina (September - October)? Please be merciful and disclose this truth to me."

The Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna replied, "Oh king, please listen as I explain the glories of this Ekadasi - Papankusha Ekadasi - which removes all sins. On this day one should worship the Deity of Padmanabha, the lotus naveled Lord Vishnu, according to the rules of archana viddhi (regulations). By so doing, one achieves whatever heavenly pleasures one may want in this world, and at last attains liberation from this world thereafter. Simply by offering one's humbly obeisances unto Lord Vishnu, the rider of Garuda, one can achieve the same merit as is gained by performing great penances for a long time restr

Sanatana Dharma, by Srila Prabhupada

"And therefore sanatana-dharma does not mean any sectarian process of religion. It is the eternal function of the eternal living entities in relationship with the eternal Supreme Lord. So far sanatana-dharma is concerned, it means the eternal occupation. Sripada Ramanujacarya has explained the word sanatana as "the thing which has neither any beginning nor any end." And when we speak of sanatana-dharma we must take it for granted on the authority of Sripada Ramanujacarya that it has no beginning, nor any end. The word religion is a little different from sanatana-dharma. Religion conveys the idea of faith. Faith may change. One may have faith in a particular process, and he may change the faith afterwards and adopt another faith. But sanatana-dharma means which cannot be changed, which cannot be changed.

Just like water and liquidity. Liquidity cannot be changed from water. Heat and fire. Heat cannot be changed from fire. Similarly, the eternal function of the eternal living entity, whi

Please note; Read this post from bottom comment up, it is a thread from Temple Illuminatus, offsite.

Hari Krishna said;

There is interconnectivity and no coincidences; beggars the idea of free will while conditioned in material existence. This sounds orchestrated, karma is apparently well-lawed; karma is perfect almost unescapable justice. But to express pure free will, there must be freedom, at least to some degree!

As above, so below. There is orchestrated meaning and thus a symphony of  inter-connectedness observable here, though often there is discordance as everyone wants to lead the orchestra, and then there is a perfect symphony in the self-realized mode of v

The Sacred Lotus

The Sacred Lotus

The lotus regularly appears as a symbol of purity, peace ...  enlightenment is symbolised by the life cycle of the sacred lotus plant, because it begins its life humbly in the mud of ponds, but soon grows and sends stems and flowers well above the surface of the water (up to 50cm), thus showing the path of spiritual enfoldment...

"...Long ago, at the end of the aeons, the whole universe had been engulfed in an ocean, and Creation was all but lost. The god Vishnu, preserver of life, whose abode is the primordial waters, was asleep in this timeless darkness, dreaming of worlds to come. As his dreams unfolded, a lotus flower emerged from his navel and revealed within its many folds the cosmic egg, in which Brahma the creator, was asleep.

As Brahma stirred, Creation began to unfold again, and new worlds, new gods, and new life appeared. In India today, the lotus is still considered to be the cradle of the universe, and many Indian deities are portrayed sitting
