"I joined ISKCON in 1971. I know this movement.. I noticed the erosion of ISKCON about a year after the departure of Srila Prabhupada. The leaders of ISKCON are deemed as criminals by many. Srila Prabhupada once made a statement in the early seventies; many of you are here in the garbs of a devotee, but you are here to destroy - demons from the lower planetary system have taken birth on this planet just to destroy this movement. 1974 revisions of NOD and TLC? There is no explanation of a valid reason for these revision to have taken place - nor for them to be printed as the originals which they certainly are not.

Palaka Dasa, it was my assumption only that Rupanuga was a BBT trustee. I do not know whether he was or not. So if I am wrong my hearty apology. That is one thing!

Next it was in 1972 yes it was 1972 when Bali Mardan picked me up at Tiffany Place ISKCON Press, in his car, and told me to get in and sit in the back as he was going to pick up Sankirtan devottees. He knew I was austere and so he wanted to know my opinion on Srila Prabhupada's decision that all GBC members take sannyas and thus retain their post.

My not much appreciated, forthcoming and immediate answer was, "I think it is a very good idea - the GBC they should be the most austere." So if Karandhara was GBC maybe he did not take sannyas, although awarded by the asking. I saw him in white in May 1973. Again as I had stated it may have been a revised book that contained this 8th canto purport as I had mentioned - as in ISKCON Press in Los Angeles every time their was a second press run - all big books had

Devotee: Srila Prabhupada, why has it taken so long for a pure devotee to come to the West? Has the West been so sinful that no pure devotee has come before Your Divine Grace?
Prabhupada: Don’t be sorry. At that time, you were so sinful that you could not receive a pure devotee.
Devotee: Yes. Once in a lecture a lady asked you why hadn’t you come sooner, and you just said, “Well, you weren’t ready for me.”
Prabhupada: Yes, “Because you were not ready.” Yes, I told. Yes. Now the Western boys, the descendant of the Western people, they are fortunate; therefore they receive Kṛṣṇa. Kona bhāgyavān jīva (CC Madhya 19.151). It is Kṛṣṇa’s desire that “These people are suffering so much; let some devotees come here.” So you are all devotees. You have come to join together.

Without being pure, how can you expect to reach God? This is all rascaldom. To keep oneself dirty, impure in mind, in body, in feeling, in character, and you want to go to God? Rascal. (laughter) Forget! There is no entrance for you to God.

yaṁ brahmā varuṇendra-rudra-marutaḥ stunvanti divyaiḥ stavair
vedaiḥ sāṅga-pada-kramopaniṣadair gāyanti yaṁ sāma-gāḥ
dhyānāvasthita-tad-gatena manasā paśyanti yaṁ yogino
yasyāntaṁ na viduḥ surāsura-gaṇā devāya tasmai namaḥ

God's position is that, that the yogis, they are trying to capture God by meditation. And demigods like Brahmā, Lord Śiva and others, they are offering Vedic prayers.
