Prabhupada : When the brahmana asked the woman who the man lying on the floor was, she answered that he was her spiritual master and that she was perplexed about who to do in his absence. At such a time the Supersoul immediately appears, provided the devotee is purified in heart by following the direction of the spiritual master. A sincere devotee who follows the instructions of the spiritual master certainly gets direct instructions from him from Supersoul. This is confirmed in Caitanya-caritamrta : guru-krsna- prasade paya bhakti-lata-bija. If the devotee serves his spiritual master sincerely, Krsna automatically becomes pleased. Yasya Prasadad bhagavad - prasadah. By satisfying the spiritual master, one automatically satisfies Krsna. Thus the devotee becomes enriched by both the spiritual master and Krsna. TRANSLATION: The loud sound of the chanting of the Hare Krsna mantra certainly made the Kazi very much afraid, and he hid himself within his room. Hearing the people thus protesting, murmuring in great anger, the Kazi would not come out of his home.

PURPORT: The Kazi’s order not to perform sankirtana could stand only as long as there was no CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE. Under the leadership of the Supreme Lord, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the chanters, increasing in number, disobeyed the order of the Kazi. Thousands assembled together and formed parties, CHANTING THE HARE KRSNA MAHA-MANTRA and MAKING A TUMULTUOUS SOUND OF PROTEST. My not much appreciated, forthcoming and immediate answer was, "I think it is a very good idea - the GBC they should be the most austere." So if Karandhara was GBC maybe he did not take sannyas, although awarded by the asking. I saw him in white in May 1973. Again as I had stated it may have been a revised book that contained this 8th canto purport as I had mentioned - as in ISKCON Press in Los Angeles every time their was a second press run - all big books had
