Srila Prabhupada April 1977 prediction - "Not that you take the place of the guru. That is nonsense, very dangerous. Then everything will be spoiled. As soon as you become ambitious to take the place of guru—guruṣu nara-matiḥ . . . that is the material disease.  "

Hare Krishna, all glories to Srila Prabhupada, an excellent prediction by Srila Prabhupada is presented below just a few months prior to his physical departure.
Key predictions:
  • This is our position. That is very easy for us. We haven't got to manufacture. To manufacture idea is troublesome.
  • What our guru has said, that is our life and soul. We do not want . . ." āra nā kariha mane āśā.
  • As soon as this poison will come—"Suppress guru and I become prominent"—everything finished. Spiritual life is finished.  Gauḍīya Maṭha finished, that . . . violated the orders of Guru Mahārāja.
  • Whatever little success is there for me, I did not manufacture any idea.
  • Our mission is to serve bhakta-viśeṣa and live with devotees.
  • Not tha

“Jesus Christ – He is preaching God consciousness, so he is our guru, our spiritual master”

2010 March 10
by staffmember

Srila Prabhupadas Quotes on Lord Jesus Christ:

He is our guru. He is preaching God consciousness, so he is our spiritual master. Therefore we adore Lord Jesus Christ and offer our obeisances to him.

“Jesus Christ is accepted as the son of God. He presented himself as the son of God. And here Krishna says that ‘I am the Father.’” – Chaitanya Charitamrita lecture, 1968

“…is no difference between God and His servant. Yes. That we say…Because a devotee, like Lord Jesus Christ, means confidential servant of God, there is no difference…”
“Yes. A real Vaishnava, a real devotee, is even more merciful than Krishna. Take Lord Jesus Christ, for example. It is said that Lord Jesus took everyone’s sins upon himself, yet…”
- Room conversation, London July 12, 1973

“Just like Lord Jesus Chr

People generally cannot understand the actual meaning of chanting and dancing. Describing the Gosvāmīs, Śrī Śrīnivāsa Ācārya stated, kṛṣṇotkīrtana-gāna-nartana-parau: not only did Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu and His associates demonstrate this chanting and dancing, but the six Gosvāmīs also followed in the next generation. The present Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement follows the same principle, and therefore simply by chanting and dancing we have received good responses all over the world. It is to be understood, however, that this chanting and dancing do not belong to this material world. They are actually transcendental activit

Those of us who are priests and brahmanas, and have taken vows of poverty; it is these very times when our true riches become manifest. The temporary earthly things do not hold a candle to the inner light and the joys of spiritual life, made accessible by renouncing excess material consumption. We lived to grow, and now relish the ripened fruits of our cultivations. Picking those fruits, we can freely distribute them to others, as much as they wish to take, as there is no limit or shortage.9468806474?profile=original

Ritvik - compiled by Tamoharadasa

Srila Prabhupada ;

" From now on unless I order you do something change or in addition, go on with the usual standard way. "

"Kṛṣṇa consciousness does not meant to be one-sided. Kṛṣṇa is all-pervading, the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement also should be all-pervading. It should touch everything, even politics, sociology, everything, if required. That is the aim. Because Kṛṣṇa’s mission is: yadā yadā hi dharmasya glānir bhavati bhārata [Bg. 4.7], paritrāṇāya sādhūnāṁ vināśāya ca duṣkṛtām [Bg. 4.8]."

"Make your own field... and continue to be Ritvik... and act on my behalf." - Śrīla Prabhupāda: July 31, 1977.

Srila Prabhupada: Only Lord Chaitanya can take my place. He will take care of my movement.

-(Conv. 2.11.77)

Gab post 1.

Most of the ancient Earth cultures worshipped the Divine Couple. Just as the Christians have their paintings and statues, so do the ancient cultures. It does not mean they are so stupid to worship a stone. Just as a post office box is authorized, religious worship according to scriptural authorizations is just like you bow to a cross on the church altar etc., only more personal and elaborate, and no one nailed to anything. Hare Krsna Such Divine forms remind us of our inherent personal nature and love of Godhead. Armed with such knowledge, we can stand in confidence and fight impersonalism and sectarianism.

Don't Choose a Mere Flatterer As Your Guru
by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda

The sincere activities of the spiritual guru always tend to give permanent relief to his disciples. The guru aims at extending their knowledge of the Absolute and removing the foreign obstacles of double layers of dirt that cover that knowledge.

In selecting a real and true guru, one should never aim for a mere flatterer, who lulls and encourages the wrong aptitudes of a disciple. The disciple’s submissive attitude and unconditional surrender to the All-love will evoke Bhagavān’s mercy, and He will kindly fulfil our prayer. The cogent but loving potency of the All-love will then operate on us, to pacify the turmoil arising out of our baneful activities.

The preceptor will never let us fall into the extensive snare of māyā, as he has no ulterior motive to dissuade us from having sure access to transcendental treasures. He will show us – for our inspection or exa

Why do old men feed birds? - Tdasa

Why do old men feed birds? Because they have over a lifetime developed a love for all living things, a desire to help and be useful and do good for others. Now with their compassionate loving minds, in maturity their bodies cannot sustain the workload. The younger ones seem oblivious to the value of their life knowledge and experiences, being so enamored of their own necessities in life. Hardly anyone has time or cares about an old person, except for their dwindling circle of family and friends, most of who may now be gone. And so, as there is sometimes precious little to do to benefit others despite their compassionate God-conscious mind-set, with the desire to somehow still be useful and helpful, they feed the little ones, the birds. As the good Lord Sri Krsna said, I am aware of each and every little sparrow.

One day in Goloka Vrindavana on Karttika Purnima during Sri Krishna’s aprakata-lila an amazingly, sweet and beautiful pastime took place. Soothing rays of moonshine danced on the floor of the nikunja, as Nikunjeshavari Radha, rapt in the anticipation of romance, sat in anxious waiting. But Priyaji’s gallant lover Shyama arrived in the wee hours of night just before dawn.
Upset and disappointed, Radhika glared at Shyama, and then angrily tied Krishna around the waist with the string from Her undergarment (nivi). Krishna said He was detained due to Maa Yashoda’s offering a feast to celebrate the end of Karttika. Pacified by this excuse, Radhika untied Her Priyatama and smiled affectionately at Her sweetheart. At that time, Sri Krishna felt the epitome of bliss being bound by His beloved in such an intimate way.
In supreme satisfaction, Shyama addressed Sundari, “O beautiful treasure of My heart, because You bound Me around the waist with Your

Nationalism versus globalism

From Srimad Bhagavatam, translation and purports by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada ;

Nationalism versus globalism
TRANSLATION “To stop the quarreling among different peoples, Maharaja Priyavrata marked boundaries at rivers and at the edges of mountains and forests so that no one would trespass upon another’s property.”
PURPORT: The example set by Maharaja Priyavrata in marking off different states is still followed. As indicated here, different classes of men are destined to live in different areas, and therefore the boundaries of various tracts of land, which are described here as islands, should be defined by different rivers, forests and hills. This is also mentioned in relation to Maharaja Prthu, who was born from the dead body of his father by the manipulation of great sages. Maharaja Prthu’s father was very sinful, and therefore a black man called Ni?ada was first born from his dead body. The Nai?ada race was given a place in the forest be

Opportunism and Speculation ; Driving forces in Western living that lead to insecurity and disturbance, abuses, and elitism. Human life has a purpose; to become fully Krsna / God conscious and no longer take repeated births on the many material worlds. Reawakening that spirtual love affair by finding divine devotional service is the purpose of human existence. Those enamorred of the temporary things lose track of their spiritual purpose. They lose their valued lives to false egotistical delusions and hard work to achieve things neither necessary nor helpful to fulfilling their real life goals. Simple traditional spiritual culture encourages human purposes, while atheistical science and technology mostly bewilder and obscure. There is no limit to mundane knowledge and data gathering etc., so one can become lost in chasing those, not grasping that Sri Krsna is the source and cause of all that is, and that a connection to that Well of Life fulfills all natural desire
