Srila Prabhupada Speaks Out - "You cannot take protection of another rascal
who interprets Bhagavad-gītā in a different way. You have to take shelter directly. "

The authorized edition of Bhagavad-gita will help to stop the terrible cheating of 'gurus' and 'yogis' who are false and unauthorized
"The reviews have very much encouraged me. Especially those of Prof. Bhatt and Prof. Vajpeye. I have personally written a letter of thanks to Dr. Bhatt, that he has so much encouraged me. Dr. Vajpeye's review we are going to print and widely distribute, especially in Bombay and Madras, where there is so much propaganda from these bogus gurus and yogis. He has got practical experience of how they are cheating the innocent people in foreign countries and he has written; "The authorized edition of Bhagavad-gita will help to stop the terrible cheating of 'gurus' and 'yogis' who are false and unauthorized. [Letter to: Svarupa, Ranadhira, Mayapur-3 February, 1976 Los Angeles]"

Ever since about age 15, having read "Club of Rome" publications by panels of sociologists, biologists and other scientists attempting to create a broad-based predictive program for the future, I have been aware of their mathematical models which all culminate in a predicted collapse of modern civilization and a massive die-off of humans, sometime within the 21st century.
This same type of bio-model is used daily to predict population changes of various species
"in the field". For example, we can predict the numbers of wolves on an island, once we know the number of rabbits and other food resources, as well as their patterns of reproduction, these interacting and thus leading to population change. Example of relevant factors in this example would be such as ; how many pups per pregnancy, and ease of access to tasty rabbits. As the rabbits increase, the food availability for wolves increases. As the wolves now increase, the rabbits reduce in number. The food now is reduced, wolves die

When I was a young lad, I did not do what I wanted to do. I wanted to run free, to be part of the trees and the grass and the rivers and birds. I knew instinctively who I was. I wanted that natural happiness, to live free of unwanted imposing structures not of my designs.

Instead, I trusted them. They soon made me sit in a small desk in school, for hour after hour, with my hands folded in front of me, to learn.

I had in my innocence found that when I just relaxed and let myself, just, “Be”, I felt ecstasy ! , or at least a broad sense of well being, like a molecular-level happy tingling sensation, all over and in me! When I spoke of this to significant others, the adults, they didn't know what to say, or acted like it was a child's imagination and ignored me, and so I soon learned not to trust or expose my inner self. I became bricked, in the wall.

When at age 5,  I cried horrified tears at the sudden realization that my parents would eventually grow old and die! My mother and fath

1) "Srila Prabhupada has not mentioned the use of ritviks in his books."

1) The word "ritvik" (meaning "priest") and its derivatives actually have 31 separate references in Srila Prabhupada's books, only slightly less than the word "diksa" and its derivatives, which has 41 separate references in Srila Prabhupada books. Certainly, the use of ritvik priests to assist in ceremonies is a concept fully sanctioned in Srila Prabhupada's books:

Real bhakti… that is raganuga-bhakti. This raganuga-bhakti, we have to come after surpassing the vaidhi-bhakti [regulative process]. In the material world, if we do not try to make further and further progress in devotional service, if we are simply sticking to the shastric [scriptural] regulation process and do not try to go beyond that...
The shastric process is kanishtha-adhikara, lowest stage of devotional service… This is nice beginning, but one has to go above this… If I become satisfied only with these regulative principles for worshiping… but if I have no other idea, then sa bhaktah prakrtah smrtah. Prakrta means on the material platform.
…So any devotee can fall down if he remains prakrta-bhakta. So he has to raise himself above this in the madhyama-adhikara [intermediate stage]…
Therefore, if we do not associate with the advanced devotees, uttama-adhikari, if we simply want to remain in the lowest stage of devotional service, then we are not making progress. Then we shall si

Srila Prabhupada Evening Darsana February 15, 1977, Mayapura) Don't be disappointed. Kṛṣṇa will act through His movement and kill them, these demons. How it will be done, that you cannot know now, but it will be done. Let us remain true soldiers. That's all. And if it is a fight, suppose we die in the fight. The fight means with vow, with determination either to gain victory or die. Because it is fight against māyā, why we shall be afraid of being killed? Where there is fight, one must know that "Either I am going to be killed or gain victory." Jīvo vā māro vā. Those who are devotees, either they live or they die—the same thing. While they live they are serving Kṛṣṇa; when they die they will serve Kṛṣṇa. Jīvo vā māro vā. Tyaktvā dehaṁ punar janma naiti mām eti (BG 4.9). He goes to Kṛṣṇa. (laughs) So what is the loss? We are working for Kṛṣṇa, and if we die we go to Kṛṣṇa. So what is the loss? Same business.

Lord Chaitanya's Sankirtan Party
Chore Bagan Art Studio, Calcutta, c. 1895
British Museum Collection

Jan 12, 2021 — CANADA (SUN) — The Disappearance day of Sri Locana Dasa Thakura is observed on January 13th.

Lochan Das Thakur was born in 1523 in Kogram, in the Katwa block of Burdwan district. This village is about ten miles north of Guskara train station. The Thakur's home is situated near the Ajaya River.

His birth tithi is given by some as the first day of the fortnight of the waxing moon in Paush. He was born in the Rarha clan of the physician caste (vaidya). His father's name was Kamalakar Das, his mother's Sadanandi. Lochan Das studied at his maternal grandfather's house. He displayed devotion for Mahaprabhu from his childhood.

Lochan Das was married at a very early age, according to the customs of that époque. Since he had been married so young, his wife first remained with her parents in the village of Amedpur Kakuta. As he grew older, Lochan showed a highly renounced attitud

Srimad-Gaurangalila-Smaranamangal Stotram,
Part Eight

Jan 16, 2021 — CANADA (SUN) — Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur's English introduction to "Srimad-Gaurangalila-Smaranamangal Stotram", the last of eight parts.

The religion preached by Mahaprabhu is universal and not exclusive. The most learned and the most ignorant are both entitled to embrace it. The learned people will accept it with a knowledge of sambandha-tatwa as explained in the categories. The ignorant have the same privilege, by simply uttering the name of the Deity and mixing in the company of pure Vaishnavs. The principle of kirtan invites, as the future church of the world, all classes of men without distinction of caste or clan to the highest cultivation of the spirit. This church it appears, will extend all over the world and take the place of all sectarian churches, which exclude outsiders from the precincts of the mosque, church or the temple.

Chaitanya as a teacher has taught man both by precepts and by his holy life. The

Yes. A spiritual master must have seen Kṛṣṇa.

Srila Prabhupada..."Yes. A spiritual master must have seen Kṛṣṇa. Without seeing, he cannot be spiritual master. But how Kṛṣṇa can be seen? Kṛṣṇa can be seen by love. Premāñjana-cchurita-bhakti-vilocanena [Bs. 5.38]. Premāñjana-cchurita-bhakti-vilocanena santaḥ sadaiva hṛdayeṣu vilokayanti. Just like if you are in love with somebody, you can see him constantly—he is always on your eyes, anyone you love—so similarly, Kṛṣṇa also can be seen by development of love. Otherwise how we can see Kṛṣṇa? He is so great, unlimited. Your eyes, your senses, are all limited. You cannot see the unlimited by your limited sense perception. But you can see... Not you can see, but svayam eva sphuraty adaḥ. When you are developed in the sense of love o

A Spiritual Study of Greed

[BTG Magazine Article, Volume 1 part 8, 1952]

The Black-marketeers who have been recently raided in large scale by the police in Bihar, are almost in all cases rich merchants, millionaires, landlords etc. It would not have been possible for them to hoard such huge quantity of clothes and foodgrains if they would not have possessed extra wealth to do the mischief. These people were not needy men but they amassed money and hoarded commodities out of a passion for accumulating wealth not only for their personal enjoyment but also for their enjoyment of their future generation. Such diseased persons who do not know the highest value of human life, but simply go on amassing money unnecessarily and immorally for the simple reason of sense gratification are described in the Bhagwat Geeta (BG 16.6-20) as Ashuras or the demons or the opposite numbers of the Gods. The Ashura is generally faithless and unbeliever in the existence of the Supreme Personality of Godhe

The Incomparable Affection and Compassion
of Śrī Guru and Vaiṣṇavas
a letter from Śrīla Bhaktivedānta Vāmana Gosvāmī Mahārāja

Appearing in English for the first time

śrī śrī guru gaurāṅgau jayataḥ
(All glories to Śrī Guru and Śrī Gaurāṅga)

Śrī Nīlācala Gauḍīya Maṭha
Gourvātsāhi, Swargadwār (Purī)
30|8|1976

Dear Uma,
If one can engage one’s aged cow of a body solely in the service of Śrī Hari, Guru, and Vaiṣṇavas, one can know that its purpose has been fulfilled. If one ends up living for the comforts of home and body, then where is one’s advancement in sādhana-bhajana? Becoming distressed by winters, summers, and so forth often hinders one’s resolve to render service (sevā-niṣṭhā). As important as it is to exert oneself rigorously in service, it is just as necessary to give rest to one’s body, which is valuable for bhajana. These two things are synonymous. Rest is for service; rest does not detract from service. These are two complementary states of being

Srila Prabhupada Speaks Out-
"So you cannot change the words of Bhagavad-gītā. That is foolishness.
Anyone who changes the orders and the words of Bhagavad-gītā, they are rascal; they'll not get any benefit."
Hare Krsna. All glories to His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
Following are some quotes that are direct instructions against the whimsical changes in the original Bhagavad Gita As It Is.
There is no difference. Just like we are reading Bhagavad-gītā. Why we're interested? Because Bhagavad-gītā and the speaker of Bhagavad-gītā, Kṛṣṇa, they are identical. So you cannot change the words of Bhagavad-gītā. That is foolishness. Anyone who changes the orders and the words of Bhagavad-gītā, they are rascal; they'll not get any benefit. Because you cannot correct Kṛṣṇa, what Kṛṣṇa says or God says. That is not in your power. So these rascals, they want to interpret, "This is like this, this is this, I think it is this." No. Kṛṣṇa did not live for you, for your

My Friend Renders More
Intimate Service Than I Can
by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda

The Personality of Godhead has a singular significance, quite distinct from the impersonalism we have here due to our apathy toward Him. Such apathy is improper in itself and a contamination consisting of incompatible concomitants.

I myself should not be polluted by that discord which is always found in the plurality [duality] of this miserable manifestation, but I have every inclination to make my friends quite compatible with the All-love [God], provided they count me as one of them [as a soul in service to the All-love]. I will then be in a position to accept comradeship in that plurality as all of us shall have one aim and object and no conflicting discord born of mutual rivalry. I will be all more pleased if I find that another person competes in my line to serve my All-love in a better way perhaps than I can.

The lower part of my consciousne

Sneha-vigraheṣu (“personified object of my affection”),

I received your letter dated the 13th. You have invoked a conceptional whirlpool of apparent contradiction in regards to guru-tattva.

The destructible world is manifest from Bhagavān’s external potency (bahiraṅga-śakti), wherein the three modes are active. And the eternal realm is manifest from His internal potency (cit-śakti). There, the three śaktishlādinī, sandhinī and samvit 1 – are ac

Misdirected energy leads to dead ends. Latch a-hold firmly instead, to constancy in divine devotional service, as that will last and grow ever more satisfying in your esteem and appreciation, come what may, with no barriers or loss. "Unto those who are steady in their devotion, I give the knowledge by which they can come to Me." Sri Krsna, Bhagavada Gita As It Is. "In this endeavor, there is no loss." All things and beings are within His grasp and realm and control, and when we act willfully and sincerely in knowledge, in accordance with His Will, then that is pure Krsna consciousness, and the source of immortality. In this age, special dispensation is given, so that it can be relatively easily obtained, and is simple.9468807878?profile=original

Srila Prabhupada April 1977 prediction - "Not that you take the place of the guru. That is nonsense, very dangerous. Then everything will be spoiled. As soon as you become ambitious to take the place of guru—guruṣu nara-matiḥ . . . that is the material disease.  "

Hare Krishna, all glories to Srila Prabhupada, an excellent prediction by Srila Prabhupada is presented below just a few months prior to his physical departure.
Key predictions:
  • This is our position. That is very easy for us. We haven't got to manufacture. To manufacture idea is troublesome.
  • What our guru has said, that is our life and soul. We do not want . . ." āra nā kariha mane āśā.
  • As soon as this poison will come—"Suppress guru and I become prominent"—everything finished. Spiritual life is finished.  Gauḍīya Maṭha finished, that . . . violated the orders of Guru Mahārāja.
  • Whatever little success is there for me, I did not manufacture any idea.
  • Our mission is to serve bhakta-viśeṣa and live with devotees.
