Prabhupada, Los Angeles, December 9, 1973: [...] Soul is immortal. Soul is eternal. These things are described in the Bhagavad-gita. In the beginning, this is the beginning lesson: dehino ’smin yatha dehe kaumaram [Bg. 2.13] This is the beginning of spiritual understanding. Full Lecture

We Are All Hindus Now | Newsweek

Lisa Miller | Newsweek — America is not a Christian nation. We are, it is true, a nation founded by Christians, and according to a 2008 survey, 76 percent of us continue to identify as Christian (still, that’s the lowest percentage in American history). Of course, we are not a Hindu—or Muslim, or Jewish, or Wiccan—nation, either.

A million-plus Hindus live in the United States, a fraction of the billion who live on Earth. But recent poll data show that conceptually, at least, we are slowly becoming more like Hindus and less like traditional Christians in the ways we think about God, our selves, each other, and eternity.

Mar 29, 2011 — BERKELEY, CALIFORNIA, USA (SUN) — Glorification of the Guru Who Lives in His Books: His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

Guru das watched Prabhupada laughing while reading his Krsna book.

Guru Das: "Prabhupada, you're laughing at your own books."

Prabhupada: "I did not write these books, Krsna wrote them!"

Srila Prabhupada, Please accept my humble obeisances at your lotus feet Your Divine Grace. My words cannot begin to show my gratitude for all the things you gave this world. Anyone is fortunate enough to be able to have the association of Krishna's pure devotee, THE guru who lives in His books. Inspired by your association, your global movement continues to give birth daily to billions of sound incarnations of Radha-Krishna, 24/7/365. They are dancing round the universe and purifying it. You said when we chant Hare Krsna, the Divine Couple personally appear. It does not get any better than that, to be in the presence of Krsna, being purifie

Pradyumna: Translation: “Because of his possessing spiritual assets, the doubts of duality were completely cut off. Thus he was freed from the three modes of material nature and placed in transcendence. There was no longer any chance of his becoming entangled in birth and death, for he was freed from material form.”

Prabhupada: Visokah, without any bereavement. Brahma-sampattya, by achieving spiritual assets. This is the sign how one is advanced in spiritual life. That will be tested by this word visokah, without any bereavement. That is explained in Bhagavad-gita the same thing: brahma-bhutah prasannatma na socati na kanksati [Bg. 18.54]. Prasannatma means there is no more lamentation and no more hankering. That is prasannatma. We are subjected to two things. Ah… If our possessed… If our possession is lost, then we lament, and if we don’t possess, then

Ujjvala Varana (Sacitanayastakam)
by Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya

ujjval varan gaurabara deham vilasita nirabadhi bhava videham
tribhuvana pavana krpayah lesam tam pranamami ca sri sacitanayam

I prostrate myself before the Son of Mother Saci, Whose radiant lotus face and body shine with the splendour of molten gold. This transcendental body is the playground for the continuous expression of variegated moods and ecstatic symptoms, that carry His consciousness to the realm where He is no longer aware of that transcendental body. By only a particle of His mercy he has delivered the three worlds.

9468740674?profile=original

I salute the Son of Mother Saci, Whose heart is in a state of rapture, transformed by feelings of intense love. In His pastime of loud roaring, before the mischievous and malicious rascals, He removes all fear of the vast ocean of material existence, by the effect of His unlimited compassion.

He is wearing garments the colour of the eastern sky during the dawn, and His lovely cheeks shine

He sent us Srila Prabhupada by Tamoharadasa

He sent us Srila Prabhupada

It is only possible to deliver a conditioned jiva from Maya,

By divine intervention of God.
To a realm that is higher;
Ecstatically deep and broad.
An ocean of liquid love!
In His mercy, to bring us there,

He sent us Srila Prabhupada.

9468732061?profile=original

Sri Krsna Caitanya desired to moisten the dried-up souls.
To acheive it,
He not only comes Himself,
But Nitai-Balarama empowered Srila Prabhupada,
To bountiful conceive it.
A world encircling garland of prema-nama-sankirtana!

All Glory to Lord Gaura Krsna! All Glory to Lord Sankarsana!

9468750667?profile=original

The envious conditioned souls actually have no direct access to the Lord.
But by His sweet will, just as the ambassador represents the king,
The Guru is the personal embodied mercy of Lord Gaura.
That person who would set the dove of his love of Krsna a-wing,

Can do so, by the expanded mercy of Srila Prabhupada!

9468743866?profile=original

You fortunate persons around the world,
Just hear the words of Srila Prabhupada!
His vibrations have the power to deliver you from all fear

Vaisnava Devotional  9468738457?profile=original

life involves exchanges of loving service; There are five primary flavors or rasas;

Five  primary Rasas; 1 neutral ie appreciation, awe and reverence, 2 servant-master,  3 friend ship ( unequal or equal),  4 parental/protector,  5  lover.  These vary in degrees of intimacy and "thickness" of bhakti. All are fully relishable and satisfying.

Appreciation of Absolute Truth

By determined contemplation, practice of the disciplines of yoga, one may come to the realization of the localized Godhead, Supersoul.

Sri Caitanya Upanisad, Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura

9468727101?profile=original

From the Atharva Veda, with commentary by HDG Srila Sacidananda Bhaktivinoda Thakura.

This Upanisad was published by the great pioneer of the Krsna Consciousness movement, Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura. The Thakura searched the length and breadth of Bengal to procure an original copy of the manuscript of this rare Upanisad, which describes the unique position and advent of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. It also describes the glorious position and importance of the Maha mantra, or the chanting of the divine name of Sri Krsna. He was finally provided a copy of the original handwritten manuscript from one pandita, Madhusudana Maharaja, of Sambala-Pura.

Upon the request of many Gaudiya Vaishnavas of the time, He wrote a lucid sanskrit commentary called Sri Caitanya-Caranamrta, or the the nectar of the lotus feet of Lord Caitanya. The first edition of this book was originally printed in Calcutta, Bengal by the Sri Caitanya Press in 1887.

In the Sri Caitanya Upanishad it is said:

"The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Govinda, the supreme enjoyer, whose form is transcendental, who is beyond the touch of the three modes of material nature, and who is the all-pervading Supersoul residing in the hearts of all living entities, will appear again in the Kali age. Appearing as the greatest devotee, the Supreme Personality of Godhead will assume a two-armed form of golden complexion in His abode of Goloka Vrindavana manifested on the bank of the Ganga at Navadvipa. He will disseminate pure devotional service in the world. This incarnation of the Lord is described in the following verses.

Scary at the Top

Let us imagine that You are God. Everywhere You "look", You see infinite nothingness. You contemplate forever alone in the void. Its very scary at the Top. So alone! You panic. You calm down. You think.

It has been so long ! How long have I been here like this?

You need to escape! Turning inward, if such is possible, You devise a scheme; You will expand and break up Your undifferentiated Oneness, and in so doing, forget Your existential reality, and instead escape into unlimited condtional identities, who will serve You, and yet are You !  But in this Blessed Forgetfulness, the Yoga Maya.

Uma outra realidade; by Bhagavatamrta Dasa

"Nunca houve um tempo em que Eu não existisse, nem você e nem todos estes reis;

AUSPICIOUS PRAYERS FOR REMEMBERING THE

EIGHT-FOLD DAILY PASTIMES OF
SRI CAITANYA MAHAPRABHU

by Srila Visvanatha Chakravarti Thakura

THE GLORIES OF THE LORD'S DAILY PASTIMES

1. sri-gauranga-mahaprabhos-caranayor ya kesa-sesadibhih

tam tan-manasikim smrtim prathayitum bhavyam sada sattamair
naumi pratyahikam tadiya-caritam sriman-navadvipa-jam

Devotional service to the lotus feet of Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu is far beyond the perception of Lord Brahma, Lord Siva, Lord Sesa-naga and the rest; but it is continually indulged in by the Lord's own devotees, and it is always available to other souls as well. Now I will begin my description of the process of manasi-seva (service to the Lord executed within the mind). This process is fit for continuous remembrance by the most virtuous sages. Therefore I offer my most respectful obeisances to the eternal daily life and pastimes of the Lord born in Navadvipa.

Prasadam at Iskcon Bhubaneswara was healthy but austere. Our one noon hour meal consisted of dahlma , rice, capatis, with maybe total of two tablespoons of oil or gheel for the whiole offering. There was neither milk nor sweets until i arrived and insisted on making the arrangements. At first, theis sort of diet is so minimal, that a wetsern person becomes weak, but soon, if yhou are young enough, the body adapts and you start to be clear-headed and strong once again.

The milk supplier gradually waterede down the milk. It was cyclical. At first, it is pure and rich, then after a day or three, not quite so rich, until after two three weeks it is half water! Then we would complain, and the cycle would start again all over.

Bhagavata prabhu and Gour Govinda Swami did a fair amount of preaching in our little three man room. For example, the local army, encamped up the road, would regularly march by, rifles, bag pipes, drums and all. It was quite martial and fun to see. One of the offic

Coming to an End, Mike Adams

(NaturalNews) If you look around what's really happening in our world today, there's an inescapable pattern that curiously emerges: Much of what's going on is simply unsustainable. It can't go on for much longer, in other words. And it must collapse due to the laws of economics or physics..

Here, I've put together a collection of twelve systems that are utterly unsustainable on our planet. Each of these twelve is scheduled for some sort of collapse or shut down in the coming years. They range from economics to medicine, population and the environment. And interestingly, the collapse of just one of these twelve would have devastating consequences across human civilization. What happens when two, three or ten of these things collapse?

This article doesn't cover the consequences of the collapse of these unsustainable things, but we'll work on covering that in future articles. Here are the twelve:

1) Debt-based banking and economic systems

There's little question that our global fractional re

Some Chosen Quotes, by Ys Hasti Gopala Dasa

Please accept my humble obeisances all glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I am working slowly on a long term project to compile some of the notes I have made over the years from reading of the original Srimad Bhagavatam books presented by Srila Prabhupada. That presentation is called Continuous Revelations.

This mailing is from part two of the first canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam and is being presented simply due to some old inspiration. It may not be repeated or may be repeated from time to time so bare with me.

If you take the time to reference what I have quoted then you can read the full context from which these bits of transcendental literature are from. It is very relaxing and wonderful to be going through these gems. I feel that volumes can be written from some of these simple quotes even in their place in relation to the original text. They can be discussed amongst devotees on line, around a bowl of hot milk or beside a camp fire in some future evening.

Srila Prabhupadas books will c

The Monsoon of Lord Krsna's Opulence

Prathama vrsti - Bhagavat-tripada-vibhuti
(First Shower - The Spiritual World)

Text 1

I offer my respectful obeisances to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, whose form is like blue lotus flower, who wears golden ornaments, who possesses a multitude of eternal transcendental qualities and opulences, and who bears the name Sri Krsna.

Appearing in this world with Srila Santana Goswami and Srila Rupa Goswami, and bringing great tidal waves to the ocean of transcendental bliss, may the wonderful and splendid rising moon of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu dispel the darkness within our hearts.

Note: If the word sanatana is interpreted to mean "eternal" and if the word rupam is interpreted to mean "form," then this verse may be understood in the following way: "Revealing its eternal transcendental form in this world, and bringing great tidal waves to the ocean of transcendental bliss, may the wonderful and splendid rising moon of

The entire ritvik truth does not rely on one word only (Henceforward) but on actual documented historical chronology given by the GBC itself. All in context from the May 28th 1977 conversation. Most importantly that the July 9th letter was approved by Srila Prabhupada.

Ritvikism as coined by the GBC does not "directly contradict the principle of parampara itself (of successive diksa and siksa-gurus), " It follows the principle of paramapara itself. By obeying the direct orders of the founding acharya, does not reject the understanding that a pure devotee may appear in the future and does not reject the understanding of siksa gurus. That is a fabrication by the GBC to again further separate Srila Prabhupada his disciples, present and future followers from his ISKCON.

The GBC did not inform the ISKCON members of their rejection of the July 9th 1977 directive until well after Srila Prabhupada's leaving of his body.

By directly and totally rejecting his final directive, they have so fa

From His Divine Grace

A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

The Right Of Discipline

I was born in the darkest ignorance, and my spiritual master opened my eyes with the torch of knowledge. I offer my respectful obeisance’s unto him. When will Srila Rupa Gosvami Prabhupada, who has established within this material world the mission to fulfill the desire of Lord Caitanya, give me shelter under his lotus feet?

From the Introduction to the 1972 edition of The Bhagavad Gita As It Is by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

The word discipline comes from disciple, or disciple comes from discipline. So unless there is discipline, there is no question of disciple.

The definition of truth by Srila Prabhupada.

Satyam, truthfulness, means that the facts should be presented as they are for the benefit of others. Facts should not be misrepresented. According to social conventions, it is said that one can speak the truth only when i
