"From the originating Source, Complete Atmarama whole, so many lesser but complete look-alike infintesimal units emanate..." paraphrase, Sri Iso Upanisad.

Given two beautiful postcards of lotuses, is one necessarily more beautiful than another, or are they both but aspects of the Beauty? Similarly, the Hare Krsna Movement and our acarya, and the followers of any other pure devotees such as Srila B.V. Puri, will all have the taste of Radha Krsna pure nectar, but otherwise the flavor of their vision and philosophy will be unique, no two exactly the same.

The basics will of course be similar, but as Krsna is so great, no two devotees will see all of Him, nor see from the exact, or sometimes even similar, angle of vision due to internal eternal spiritual natures, as the other pure devotees do, but all are glorious and worshippable. Krsna says that even if His devotee errs, He accepts it as truth, and so it is.

Therefore, we should ideally learn to appreciate the different angles and intent

Is there a God?

9468790876?profile=originalIn an ancient gurukulam, once a disciple asked the guru "Is there a God?"
The guru took him to a dark room and asked, " What can you see here?"
"Nothing" replied the disciple.
The guru gave a lamp made of mud and said, "Now light this lamp."
The disciple did so and the room lit up. "I can see everything in the room.
Here is a wooden box; there is a cot and I also see the palm leaves on the small table in the corner.."
The guru asked, "How was the room before you lit the lamp?"
"It was dark," said the disciple.
"Did the things in the room cease to exist when it was dark?"
"No, they were there, but not visible," said the disciple.
The guru asked, "Where did the darkness come from?"
"From the absence of light," replied the disciple.
"Then when you lit the lamp in the dark room, where did the light go?"
"It was driven away by the light," said the disciple.
The guru explained further, "Just remember one thing - the light did not bring in anything new, nor did the darkness take away anything

Here is this letter from Srila Prabhupada to Karandhara prabhu.

 December 22, 1972, Los Angeles

9468723093?profile=originalMy dear Karandhara,

Please accept my blessings…

"…Regarding your points about taxation, corporate status, etc., I have heard from Jayatirtha you want to make big plan for centralization of management, taxes, monies, corporate status, bookkeeping, credit, like that. I do not at all approve of such plan. Do not centralize anything. Each temple must remain independent and self-sufficient. That was my plan from the very beginning, why you are thinking otherwise? Once before you wanted to do something centralizing with your GBC meeting, and if I did not interfere the whole thing would have been killed. Do not think in this way of big corporation, big credits, centralization—these are all nonsense proposals. Only thing I wanted was that books printing and distribution should be centralized, therefore I appointed you and Bali Mardan to do it. Otherwise, management, everything, should be done

WARNING: Deities of today's ISKCON are not bona-fide.

If the spiritual master is not bona fide, then is the Deity also not bona fide?

Prabhupāda: Daṇḍavat class(?). Surrender means you must abide strictly the orders, sad-dharma-pṛcchā, ādau gurvāśrayam. To accept a guru means... Śiṣya means one must agree to be governed by the spiritual master. That is called śiṣya. Śiṣya... Śās-dhātu. From śās-dhātu all these terms—śāstra, śiṣya, śāsana. These are words derived from the root śās-dhātu. Śās-dhātu means śāsana, governing. The governing is done by military, governing is done by lawbooks, governing is done by personal instruction, so many things. So śiṣya means who voluntarily accepts to be guided or being governed by the representative of God. That is śiṣya. Yes.

Devotee (3): In regard to worshiping arcā-vigraha form, you have explained that if one receives a mantra from a spiritual master who is not bona fide, that mantra has no effect. So I would like to ask

9468778855?profile=originalChapter Two: Teaching 39:

Please read text 39 of chapter two along with the purport, and then read the following commentary.  Afterwards, each participant should offer a thought or comment on this passage. As you do so, please consider this study question:

What is the meaning of John Locke’s comment, and how is it proven false by scripture?

Lord Sri Krsna has very patiently and lovingly explained to Arjuna the truth of the atomic soul and the material body. He has explained the importance of obeying religious duty, and the way to avoid incurring sin. Now, Sri Krsna must explain how to free oneself from the bonds of work, essentially, how to work without fruitive results. Human beings have long sought happiness as a chief goal of life, and so the

THE PRABHUPADA CONNECTION

Causeless Mercy (#50)

Thank you, George

Srila Prabhupada once remarked that George Harrison was "more" than his disciple. During his final earthly pastimes in Vrindavan, 1977, Prabhupada took off his gold ring and requested that it be given to George. Due to his sincere and influential devotional service, George Harrison had pleased Lord Krsna's pure devotee, Srila Prabhupada.

"The relationship between Srila Prabhupada and George Harrison was very close, and Srila Prabhupada regarded George as his son. When Bhaktivedanta Manor was donated, Srila Prabhupada said of George, 'Because he has given shelter to Krsna by providing this temple, Krsna will surely provide shelter for him.' Just before Srila Prabhupada left this world in 1977, he removed the ring on his right hand and said to the disciples around him, 'This is for George, give it to him.'" In November of 1967, Srila Prabhupada wrote the following:

9468786457?profile=original

“In my opinion, a single sincere soul can maintain a center. You know I started the center at 26 2nd Ave. alone. I took the risk of 200.00 dollars per month for the rent… Still I was maintaining the establishment simply depending on Krishna and then Krishna sent me everything — men and money. Similarly, if a sincere soul goes out and opens a center in any part of the world Krishna will help him in all respects. Without being empowered by Krishna, nobody can preach Krishna Consciousness. It is not academic qualification or financial strength which helps in these matters, but it is sincerity of purpose which helps us always…. That is preaching, cooking, writing, talking, chanting everything one man’s show. I never thought about the audience. I was prepared to chant if there were no man to hear me. The principle of chanting is to glorify the Lord and not to attract a crowd. If Krishna hears nicely then he will ask some sincere d

Hare Krishna ; Al Adi----  ; You obviously do not know the philosophy, the history and who is who in ISKCON.

The philosophy orders that any diksa guru must be a resident of Krishna Loka and must have the order from his guru to have own disciples. The original 11, did not have the order of Srila Prabhupada to be diksa gurus. All can and should be gurus, which means preachers, not having your own disciples.

Srila Prabhupada said in April 22nd and 25th of 1977, that nobody was qualified to be guru. He said that strict vigilance and management are needed so nobody "jumps" to be guru! TKG and others agreed with him.

Srila Prabhupada was asked about initiations for AFTER he would no longer be with us on of May 28th 1977. He said he will choose ritviks to conduct the ceremony and twice, he said that only when he orders, (where is the order?) someone can be a guru with own disciples. This tape was forensically analyzed and it was tampered with by someone in ISKCON. There is no o

Cannot be stopped...

9468788458?profile=originalSRILA PRABHUPADA SPEAKS OUT!!!

"Therefore our movement is being checked in the Western countries that this is a brainwash movement. Brainwash movement, that we are injecting some ideas by psychology, mental control, and our people they are taking to it, and it is spreading like epidemic. How to check it?

Therefore they are now taking action how to stop this Hare Krsna movement in Europe and America. They are trying.

Of course, we are not afraid of this attempt. They will never be successful, rest assured, because we are pushing Krsna consciousness. Krsna was attempted to be killed from the very beginning of His life. That is the nature of this material world, "How to kill God," "God is dead." This is their attempt.

So from the life of Krsna we can understand that so many attempts were made by the demons and the raksasas to kill Krsna, but actually Krsna killed them all. So if you are sincere, if you follow the principles and push on this Krsna consciousness movement, nobody can kil

Tina Marie Kirner, Srimati Pancali Devi dasi said; Krishna Kirtan Prabhu. I mean no disrespect to you or who you desire to serve, however as far as I am concerned Srila Prabhupada's Books are the law Books for the next 10,000 years. Everything He wrote is perfect and complete and for those who adhere to His Divine and merciful instructions these Books are fully ampt with everything one needs to go back to Godhead in this very lifetime. So with this in mind I encourage all to fully arm themselves with Prabhupada's unedited Books, apply the instructions within in your day to day life and simply surrender to the Lotus Feet of His Divine Grace.

I have no desire to know of any other teachings other than Prabhupada's, as Prabhupada Himself said there is no need for outside instruction. Just because there are a few rotten apples within ISKCON and within the Ritvik Camp this does not mean the whole tree is damaged. With a little care and attention ISKCON can emerge spiritual once again and if

Is your spiritual master really a spiritual master? How to get an idea....

(Hari:bhakti-vilasa 1 .45 ,46)
"A devotee is an ocean of mercy who feels pain by seeing the
unhappiness of others; who is always self satisfied and who
works for the welfare of everyone; who does not desire sense
gratification; who is expert in all scriptural knowledge; who
removes the doubts of his followers, and who is not lazy should
be accepted as a Spiritual Master."

Srila Prabhupada's Iskcon Spiritnet's photo.

William Arz Prabhu; It is a basic principle that one must accept a bona fide spiritual master in order to achieve the highest perfection of life, love of God. I thank all of you very much for accepting me as your spiritual master, and I promise that I will take you back to home, back to Godhead. I ask you all to promise me to always chant at least 16 rounds, follow the regulative principles, read our books and try to preach this Krishna Consciousness Movement all over the world. So far my qualifications are concerned, I am simply trying to

"This period of worldwide chanting of Hare Krishna will continue for ten thousand years.”

Brahma Vaivarta Purana describes a conversation that took place in Dvaraka between Lord Krishna and Srimati Ganga devi. Ganga devi came to express her fears at the advent of the Kali Age, and the imminent departure of the Lord back to His Eternal Abode. In anxiety, she spoke on behalf of all the sacred rivers, saying:

“Oh Lord, we can see that Your pastimes are about to end, and people are becoming more and more materialistic. You have been very merciful to us. After You leave, however, all the sinful people of Kali Yuga will bathe in our waters, and we will become overwhelmed with sinful reactions.”

Lord Krishna smilingly replied, “My dear Ganga Devi, please be patient. After five thousand years My mantra-upasaka (worshiper of the Holy Name) will appear in this world and spread the chanting of the Holy Names everywhere. Not only in Bharata-Varsha (India) but also all over the wor

Image123.jpgThe mother of Srila Vrindavana dasa Thakura's was Sri Narayanidevi, the niece of Srivasa pandita. In his Sri Caitanya Bhagavata,Vrndavana dasa has described how his mother attained theaffectionate fervour of Sri Gaurasundara.

"Narayani devi received the entire remnants of Mahaprabhu'smeal. Though she was only an insensible child he bestowed His mercyon her in this way."

Also as a result of this mercy, Srila Vrindavana dasa Thakura, whose life and soul was Sri Gaura-Nityananda, took his birth fromher womb.

He hasn't mentioned the name of his father. It is believedthat Narayani devi was married to someone at Kumarhatta. However, while she was still carrying the child in her womb, she waswidowed. Being reduced to a condition of poverty by the loss of herhusband, she finally accepted shelter in the house of Sri VasudevaDatta Thakura, at Mamgachi, where she helped with the housework. Here Vrindavana dasa began his studies.

Festival of Inspiration

9468790269?profile=originalHare Krsna Prabhus;

As you know, this past weekend I attended the Festival of Inspiration at New Vrindaban. This was the 15th annual event, and it could not have been more memorable. I would encourage anyone who is able to attend next year’s event.

There were three days of talks from figures such as jayadvaita Swami, Deena Badhu Prabhu, Ravindra Swarup Prabhu, Varsana Swami, Gurudas, Sankirtana Prabhu, and Ramesvara Prabhu. And of course, you can meet many interesting people and enter into wonderful enlightening discussion over prasadam.

A few highlights: Deena Badhu Prabhu took us on a journey to sacred places with his words and sound effects. One could see, hear and smell the road to Vrindaban.

Sankirtana Prabhu gave us a visual history of our movement from the time of Lord Caitanya to the event at Thompkin Square.

Gurudas, who is one of the most genuine people you will ever meet, told stories of his experiences with Prabhupada in the early days. Filled wit

Sad news  Prabhupada Connect9468792058?profile=original

May 11
Haribol Prabhu.  Someone just sent me the following sad news.  Breaks my heart because I joined in Vancouver and also I'm still attached to the Deities there -- Sri Sri Radha Madan Mohan.  Lately I've been posting pics of the Vancouver Deities online (even today, May 11, in "What's New"), but the photos are mainly from the 70's.  Anyway, I hope the following isn't true!   :(
And as everything should be judged by the results--here below are some of the results in the Iskcon Vancouver BC Canada temple where all the resident devotees cannot even rise for mongol arotik daily, what to speak of anything else. The only devotees present for mongol arotik is one lone old Prabhupada disciple who wakes the Deities, offers Them mongol arotik and some sweets, then later on all the resident devotees straggle in-whenever they feel like coming.
Just see below how they care for their own temple by how they have let the grounds detiorate.
Below is the temple sign

Marital Cooperation

9468730474?profile=original

Devotee: The role of woman he envisioned as that of man's companion. He says, "The first aspect, then, under which positivism considers women is simply as the companion of man, irrespective of her maternal duties," and that this friendship or companionship has as its basis sex. He says, "Conjugal union becomes a perfect ideal of friendship, yet still more beautiful than friendship, because each possesses and is possessed by the other. For perfect friendship, difference of sex is essential as excluding the possibility of rivalry." So he felt that sex, there can actually be very little friendship between men, because there's no sexual basis, that sex is the basis for the friendship between the sexes.

Prabhupada: So woman, sex, there is sex, sexual necessity and the bodily demand. So woman not only give the sex pleasure to the man, but woman should prepare good foodstuff also for the man. The man is working very hard. When he comes home, if the wife supplies him good foodstuff and nice c

Approach God with a One-Way Ticket

by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda

(Portrait of ŚrīlaBhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī ṬhākuraPrabhupāda)

Question 1: Is it appropriate to approach śrī guru and Śrī Gaurāṅga with a return ticket in hand?

Answer: Never. Those who have come to the matha with a return ticket in hand do not wholeheartedly desire to attain Śrī Bhagavān. Would one who truly loves Śrī Bhagavān ever want to go away after coming to His lotus feet? Once one’s self-conception (abhimāna) of being the servant of Śrī Bhagvān has awakened, how can one leave that direct service to His lotus feet and again busy oneself in serving māyā?

Those who have attained divine knowledge (divya-jñāna) do not and cannot ever come to serve their most cherished Lord (iṣṭadeva) with the intention of returning back. But if someone considers himself to be the master or the doer; if he has other near and dear ones who are dependent on him; if he gives importance to his relation with things or persons other than the Supreme Lord; or if he identifies wi
