TRANSLATION

O my Lord, proprietor of all creation, You have now appeared in my house, desiring to protect this world. I am sure that You will kill all the armies that are moving all over the world under the leadership of politicians who are dressed as kṣatriya rulers but who are factually demons. They must be killed by You for the protection of the innocent public.

PURPORT

Kṛṣṇa appears in this world for two purposes, paritrāṇāya sādhūnāṁ vināśāya ca duṣkṛtām: to protect the innocent, religious devotees of the Lord and to annihilate all the uneducated, uncultured asuras, who unnecessarily bark like dogs and fight among themselves for political power. It is said, kali-kāle nāma-rūpe kṛṣṇa avatāra. The Hare Kṛṣṇa movement is also an incarnation of Kṛṣṇa in the form of the holy name (nāma-rūpe). Every one of us who is actually afraid of the asuric rulers and politicians must welcome this incarnation of Kṛṣṇa: Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma R

Srila Prabhupada Evening Darsana February 15, 1977, Mayapura) Don't be disappointed. Kṛṣṇa will act through His movement and kill them, these demons. How it will be done, that you cannot know now, but it will be done. Let us remain true soldiers. That's all. And if it is a fight, suppose we die in the fight. The fight means with vow, with determination either to gain victory or die. Because it is fight against māyā, why we shall be afraid of being killed? Where there is fight, one must know that "Either I am going to be killed or gain victory." Jīvo vā māro vā. Those who are devotees, either they live or they die—the same thing. While they live they are serving Kṛṣṇa; when they die they will serve Kṛṣṇa. Jīvo vā māro vā. Tyaktvā dehaṁ punar janma naiti mām eti (BG 4.9). He goes to Kṛṣṇa. (laughs) So what is the loss? We are working for Kṛṣṇa, and if we die we go to Kṛṣṇa. So what is the loss? Same business.

The spirit soul has free will, being made in the image of Govinda in a percentage of qualities. At some point, expressing our unlimited potentials, some of us wish to play games, to exercise our free will, like teenagers moving out of the house, or like skaters emboldened to skate even on what appears thin ice, or hearty souls adventuring into the forest in a new territory...

and so may temporarily venture away from the realm of Vaikuntha or Goloka.

It is not all negative! It is not necessarily "envious". It is a positive expression of Krsna's love, such that He allows us our freedom to choose, even if sometimes we choose something bold or temporary. It's a POSITIVE CHOICE, not a "fall down", nor some envious horror story, that leads to the jiva's adventures in independence and material temporary existence. The consequences may be horrid, however, when we misuse this independence. Actually, we are not independent, it is an illusion for our own sake.

So we may

Srila Prabhupada made it perfectly clear to me that we are not his only disciples. His instruction was," I have given you everything, don't change anything ... I will have millions of disciples". Say whatever you like, it is as simple as that, you decide. Hare Krishna.

I am very glad to hear that you are very serious to become a devotee of Krsna, and that your Christian background has led you to Krsna Consciousness. Actually there is no difference or contradiction between Christian religion and Krsna Consciousness movement, and because the science of devotional service is absolute, just like 2+2=4 in any country of the world, therefore we say it is nonsectarian and open for everyone. But one thing is, Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita mam ekam, "unto Me", so why we should divide our attention to others? "Sarva dharman paritajya, mam ekam saranam vraja:" just give up all varieties of religious dharmas and surrender unto Me, that is Krsna's final word. So if you want to make progress in Krsna Consciousness, do not divert your attention unnecessarily to other, "mam ekam," only unto Me, otherwise your spiritual life will not be very progressive.

Now the next initiation will be performed as a ceremony officially, of course that ceremony has value because the Name, holy name, will be delivered to the student from the disciplic succession, it has got value, but in spite of that, as you are going on chanting, please go on with this business sincerely and Krsna willing, I may be coming to you very soon. It was the beginning of 1977. Prabhupada was in Bombay temple. He was very sick. He had stopped all food intake – he was taking 1/4 a cup of orange juice per day. Jul 28, '07 — "The world goes on in its own perfect way. No person can deflect it by the breadth of a hair from the course chalked out for it by providence. . . . What is necessary is to change our outlook to this very world" -- His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Goswami Maharajah Thakura. I found this quote most interesting, as it gives a mature angle of vision on this question of free will. Apparently, the course of things cannot be changed by a HAIR's BREADTH, yet we have "minute" free will. To my best understanding, Srila Prabhupada expressed that we have a limited free will, to love or not, to be Krsna conscious or not. So far as destiny, again to my best understanding, he suggested that it was fixed. He also indicated that that was not necessarily the case for Krsna's connected devotees, who operate under special dispensation from a platform of sanction by heart-internal, and formal, initiation into the Sampradaya, i.e., empowered.
