A little known account of the divine origin of Lord Ganesha
This description of the appearance of Lord Ganesha is given in Ganapati Khanda of Brahma-vaivarta Purana. The popular story of how Mother Parvati created Lord Ganesha from her cosmetics is given in Rudra-samhita, Kumara Khanda of Shiva Purana, where Lord Brahma confirms the version presented below. The different versions mentioned in the Puranas are due to variation in pastimes that took place in different yugas.

Lord Narayana explained that after the birth of Kartikeya the commander-in-chief of the demigods mother Parvati requested Lord Shiva for one more son. On the request of his beloved wife, Mahadeva asked her to perform a punyaka ceremony (vrata) to Lord Krishna. The procedures include singing kirtana, offering bhoga,flower garlands, Tulasi lamps to Lord Hari.

Question: What happened the final months of Srila Prabhupada's appearance in connection with the process of initiating new devotees?
Gurukrpa: Nothing happened. In the beginning Srila Prabhupada did the diksa, the yajna and the name giving. As the numbers increased, he authorized GBC, and senior sannyasis to pick names and chant on the beads, etc.

Sudama Brahmin And The Takeover

This is a story which had its beginnings many many years ago. It was told to me by Sudama prabhu who left the planet in 1995. His leaving was most auspicious with devotees having 24 hour kirtan. Garlands and Tulasi were placed upon his body and he left to the chanting of the Holy Name. Immediately upon his departure, an unknown Indian brahmin came into the room, looked around, and then left. (It is said that if someone leaves their body and an unknown brahmin comes to the room, then that person has gone back home to Godhead.)
I was Sudama Maharaja's personal servant off-and-on in NYC for five months in 1975, and I later served him in Badger, CA for two months before he left his body. During that time, Sudama prabhu revealed to me something very intensely shocking and distressful.

Her home is in Yavata and her nature is vama-prakhara. In gaura-lila, she has assumed the form of Sri Svarupa Damodara Gosvami.

The Skanda Purana states that out of many thousands of gopis, sixteen thousand are predominant; and out of 108 gopis, eight are still more prominent; out of eight gopis Radharani and Candravalli are prominent; and out of these two gopis, Radharani is the most prominent. Because Radha possesses all the charm and sweetness, She is the better of the two.
Krsna's contemporary gopi friends, who are the most exalted of the gopis, are divided into varistha (the most exalted ) and vara (exalted). Among all the gopis the most important are Srimati Radharani, Candravali, Bhadra, Syama and Palika. These gopis are full of all transcendental good qualities. Of these gopis Srimati Radharani and Candravali are the best. Each of them has millions of doe-eyed gopi followers. Because She possesses all charm and sweetness, Srimati Radharani is the better of the two. She is supremely famous. In the Sruti-sastra She is known by the name Gandharva-devi.

In the northern part of Sri Lalita Sakhi’s kunja lies Rupollasa Kunja, where the very beautiful and graceful Sri Rupa Manjari resides. She is the foremost among the gopis known as priya-narma-sakhis. Her complexion is the color of gorocana (a bright yellow pigment secreted from a cow’s kidney), and she delights in wearing a dress the color of peacock feathers. Her age is 13 years 6 months. The panditas call her Rangana-malika. In age, she is one day younger than Lavanga Manjari. In gaura-lila she appears as Srila Rupa Gosvami.

You have to purify your existence and your body. As many times as you accept a material body, you'll have to change it. But as soon as you get a spiritual body, there's no change. You already have a spiritual body. Now, because of our material contamination, we are developing the material body.
But if we get in touch with spiritual life, then we will develop a spiritual body. It is the same example I have given several times: if you put an iron bar in the fire, it becomes like fire. Similarly, if you are always busy in spiritual activities, your body will act spiritually, even if it is material. It's the same example: when an iron bar is red-Hot, everything it touches will burn it. Take the quality of the fire. In the same way, if you always keep yourself conscious of Krishna, you'll be espiritualizarás. You'll always act spiritually. There will be no more material requirements.

So, today is the birth—appearance ceremony—of Lord Krishna.
In the Bhagavad-gita, the Lord says,
janma karma ca me divyam yo janati tattvatah tyaktva deham punar janma naiti mam eti kaunteya [Bg. 4.9]
"My dear Arjuna, any person who simply tries to understand about My transcendental birth or appearance and disappearance and activities, janma karma..."
The Personality of Godhead is not niskriya, without activities. So anyone who can understand what kind of activities the Lord has and what kind of birth He accepts; simply by understanding these two things one gets wonderful result.
What is that? Tyaktva deham. By quitting this body—tyaktva deha punar janma naiti [Bg. 4.9]—he does not take any more birth in this material world.
Tyaktva deham punar janma naiti. Some of us may think that “punar janma naiti” means he becomes vanquished. No. Punar janma naiti, but mam eti, "He does not come to this material world, but he comes to Me." Mam eti.
